I've been going to this park for over 45 yrs. I seen the many transformations that have taken place. Not all were for the better. The park is now filled with so many Nanny's that DON'T attend to the children they are supposed to be taking care of. I hate taking my kids there because of all the unsurpervised children in the park. Otherwise it's a really nice park.

This is a nice little playground for kids from toddlers to around 7 or 8. It's adjacent to an enclosure with basketball hoops and soccer nets where older kids can play games too. There's a bathroom, which is key. During school hours it's closed, since it's actually used by a nearby school.

A good size of playground with traditional play structure for toddlers and older kids. There's nothing fancy but already a better option in the neighborhood. There are sports fields adjacent to the playground so teenagers and adults could have their fun. It's quite popular and could be a little crowded during the weekends.

An east-meets-west themed playground named after famed Civil War general William Tecumseh Sherman (1820-1891). It's rather delightful and a good spot to hit up while exploring the west side with your kids. The old school weather vain atop the relief station is quite enduring.

My husband and I were here with our daughter. It's a safe place for kids. There is ample space with plenty of benches so you can keep an eye on your kids while the run around and play. The sprinklers are awesome!

Love the variety of jungle gyms and slides available. Perfect for playing with the kids on the weekend cuz its never too crowded. Seems clean enough. No weird smells or trash on the ground.

Safe place for kids and family. Only one entrance with a gate. Nice playground for kids

Great for playing pickup soccer or basketball as there are plenty of kids looking for a game on most days. Very high rate of breaking NYC playground laws (age limits and scooter/bicycle rules disregarded blatantly.) Younger children’s playground needs an update. Considering this playground is next to busy streets, maybe add some greenery?

Beautiful fenced playground. Our hotel was around the corner and we spent an hour here almost every day with our 1.5 year old toddler.

Not the best playground in the neighborhood, but very central and nice enough when you don't want to go to Riverside or Central Parks.

I just discovered this playground. I gave a 17 month old send am a vendor at Grand Bazaar ... so this past Sunday we took a break to this new found playground and left daddy and uncle tending to customers! Playgrounds are definitely my baby's happy place 😁!

This was a great place to bring our son. It wasn't too crowded and it has quite a few options for children to play with. This park also brought back some nostalgic feelings as I remember coming to this park as a child but never remembering it was called Ancient Playground. Our son was a bit shy at first but quickly got the hang of how big the park is. Id have to say that the two best things for him about the park was the small silver tunnel slide and walking through the pyramid like structure that with multiple exits. Id have to say that it was a bit unnerving getting dirty looks from some of the other mothers and fathers who were a bit lighter skinned. Its 2020 folks. No need for the segregation. This will not deter us from coming back as our son loved his experience.

Water feature, open bathrooms, and plenty of benches in the shade. Also lots to do for kids between 2 and 5.
