Right,
so,
let
me
clear
the
air
right
away
here
and
say
that
I
did
experience
a
rather
significant
issue
during
my
stay
at
Nap
York,
and
there
are
a
few
things
at
the
space
which
are
confusingly
absent,
but
in
the
end
management
handled
my
requests
accordingly.
A
firm
believer
in
the
“all’s
well
that
end’s
well”
ethos,
I
certainly
appreciated
it.
Now,
for
the
details.
I
arrived
at
Nap
York
before
the
standard
check-in
time,
although
I
was
able
to
check-in
anyway
and
drop
my
things
off.
I
was
let
in
by
one
of
the
friendly
staff
members
(more
on
this
in
a
moment,
seriously
they
are
great)
and
since
I
didn’t
need
to
exit
the
room
again,
I
never
had
to
enter
my
key
code
on
the
pad
and
thus
not
have
to
fiddle
with
the
entrance
mechanism
on
the
door.
Oh,
but
fiddle
I
did.
I
returned
shortly
after
midnight,
knowing
there
was
no
24-hour
reception.
My
code,
which
was
emailed
to
me,
didn’t
work
on
my
door.
I
tried
many
times—even
knocking
on
the
door
(which
felt
so
against
the
spirit
of
the
place
but
come
on,
I
had
to
do
what
I
had
to
do)—to
no
avail.
I
even
checked
in
again
from
a
self-check-in
kiosk,
getting
a
new
code
that
also
didn’t
work.
While
I
was
able
to
get
a
bed
in
a
hostel
conveniently
located
downstairs
(though
unaffiliated)
I
shudder
to
think
of
the
fate
of
someone
in
the
same
circumstance
but
not
a
white
American
male
who
has
lived
in
New
York
City
before,
with
a
working
phone,
speaks
English—you
get
it.
Not
to
mention
this
was
happening
from
1AM
to
3AM.
I
say
this
not
because
it
posed
an
issue,
I
can
function
on
very
little
sleep
just
fine—but
to
bring
forth
a
suggestion
to
Nap
York
that
they
not
only
fix
that,
but
employ
an
overnight
line
or
have
someone
on-call
during
those
hours.
That
said,
management
reimbursed
me
no
questions
asked
and
did
so
promptly.
I
appreciate
that.
Not
to
mention
overall,
the
place
does
live
up
to
the
restful
sleep
philosophy
they
sprinkle
all
around
like
sleep
dust.
Plus
the
location
is
ideal
for
getting
around.
Above
all
though,
it
was
Giselle
and
Julia
that
made
my
stay
there
really
exceptional.
Keep
it
up
you
two,
you
put
the
power
in
the
nap.
Cheers
