The location is incredible - walking distance to both Times Square and Central Park. Yes, this is a hostel type of accommodation. However, guests receive an elevated experience while staying here. There is more privacy and comfort than one will find at a more traditional hostel. Most importantly, it is safe and clean. The employees are also very helpful if assistance is needed. For the price and location this is an incredible option that I highly recommend.

Pros - Location, so close to central park Staff were friendly enough Cons - rooms weren't cleaned enough. Bins changed daily but no proper clean of bathroom and room. Bedding was not sufficient as you are given a SHEET as a blanket. The bunk I had - the ladder was in a very awkward spot and very difficult to access the pod. I pulled a muscle in my arm. No where comfortable to sit. Only bar stools and two outdoor looking seats. The place was very 'stank' as no fresh air. The stankiness is then covered up by automatic glade air refreshners which I hate as they are toxic and I am sensitive to smells. Overall- the place is great for a night or two as the location is fantastic. We stayed 5 nights which was way too long in this particular pod hostel.

I spent a lovely 3 nights in a 4-bed dorm. The hostel is sparkling clean and they manage to make a small space warm and inviting. The best part of the hostel was the friendly and inviting staff who made my stay special and of course the other guests from around the world who made the hostel feel like a community. Also, the location simply cannot be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and I recommend it to any budget-minded traveler visiting the city.

Great location for a quick nap. Better than expectation. Easy check-in even at 2am. hostels had a 1130 pm last check-in so couldn't get there. This being hourly we could check-in any time. Lot of amenities. Definitely choosing this again in future when travelling alone without family.

I stayed at Nap York on a quick vacation to NYC. The facilities were clean and well kept and the beds were suprisingly comfortable. I stayed in a 6-person shared room and everyone remained quiet and respectful. The front desk staff weren't the most friendly but it didn't take away from the experience. If you want a cheap place to stay that's a little quieter then your typical hostel I would definitely recommend. The location was ideal.

TLDR: this could easily be a 5* review, but unfortunately there was one major issue that really affected my experience. The temperature in my room was incredibly hot, to the point that it felt suffocating. They had an AC unit running but it obviously wasn’t working properly as the room wasn’t cooling down. I barely slept at all because of this. There have been other reviews identifying this as an issue so it’s unfortunate that the company who runs the hostel hasn’t fixed this problem. Otherwise, everything was great. The rooms/bathrooms were very clean, the staff was generally friendly and helpful, and I loved how quiet it was. The location is excellent for tourists. But the most important thing is being able to sleep and I wouldn’t stay here again unless the temperature control issues were addressed.

Very clean and straightforward hostel. Staff were all very nice and pleasant. Very minimalist hostel, there isn't much of a sitting area and all areas are quite areas. Personally, as a younger person travelling alone i think i would have preferred somewhere with a more social atmosphere and a place to sit in the evenings, but you can't really beat the price and location of Nap York. Close to central park, subway stations, fifth avenue, times square. Very easy to get around from here. I also didn't like that they have a weird rule about no hair straighteners or blow dryers.

Amazing place to stay. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The entire space is clean and cozy. Female rooms are better in my opinion. Mix room do not have hair dryer nor many mirror like the female rooms do. I feel very safe and comfortable. Definitely would recommend to friends and/or be back. Affordable price as well. Location is amazing, 2 blocks from central park, perfect for morning runs.

As a pod hotel, it’s a no-frills place to spend a couple of nights and you can also check in late via QR code. In that sense it’s convenient, the price is affordable and the location is very central. For me, it was a decent stay before linking up with friends. However- the top pods are pretty high up, and once I missed a ladder rung fell while climbing down half asleep. I’d describe Nap York as a pretty good, clean hostel/futuristic nap pod but not a luxury hotel.

This place was great. I highly recommend the deluxe pod rooms. They are very cozy and I slept so well. The walls are a little thin but they have quiet time from late at night into the morning. I was able to very easily go in and out at any time of the day and night without disturbing anyone else. Each room has a bathroom and very very hot water. It was a little warm on the last 2 days but honestly that's because the weather went from 20-30°f to about 70°f, so that was mostly an adjustment in general. The staff are very kind and friendly. They give great recommendations for food and places to visit. They will gladly help in any way they can and are very accommodating. I will 100% come back to this place and stay here again.

Comfortable, clean, convenient. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the entrance can be discreet and a little to find (it's right next to a sandwich shop). But once you locate it, check in is pretty straight forward and easy. Earliest check in is 4 pm, while latest check out is 10 am (not my favorite, but doable). I absolutely loved the set up of the beds. You truly get a unique experience if you sleep in a pod. It's like looking into a night sky and you can easily adjust the lighting and turn on/off a fan. One nitpick I would have is that I wish they could have two pillows instead of one, as I need the extra support. I was glad I brought my own blanket, as they really only provide you with a sheet to sleep on. I feel like it's important to mention that really tall people may struggle to comfortably rest in the pods. I'm a 5 foot eleven woman. While I was able to fit inside, I felt like I had to bend my legs a certain way to truly fit comfortably. I couldn't imagine being a few inches taller and trying to fit in there! Overall, I had a comfortable stay. The location is stellar, since you are just minutes away from Central Park! It's a great place to go to stop and rest during a productive NYC trip, while saving on costs!

It’s a cute and comfortable hostel. But the air conditioner sometimes was off, we ran out of toilet paper and they took more than one hour to get us one. The last night I went to the room and someone else was in my bed, and I had clothes and stuff there when I left. Can you image? And a girl in the room had the same problem a night before. Looks like the management doesn’t work very well, when I first got here the bed they assigned me was taken also. I’ve stayed in many hostels and I never had this problem before, it’s just out of place. The price you pay is not worth it.

Would recommend for one night stays, but the place needs to be more welcoming before making sense for longer stays. The customer service is good, but the rooms are really bare-bones, there are basically no places to put your stuff (I had to put most of my clothes and things on the one chair present in the two bed bedroom) and in general the room looks like it's designed to not want you there for more than a night or two. It needs a comfier mattress and a table at the very least, possibly more lights for when you're looking into your baggage. Also I know there's not much to be done about this but a room without any window becomes very claustrophobic after a few nights

I gotta admit I was skeptical of finding a good, clean and safe place for a reasonable price this centralized in Manhattan. Luckily what you see in most reviews and booking sites are dead on. While the entrance still might feel a bit seedy, once you arrive on the 4th floor all of that changes. The entire place reminds me of a spa. Low lighting, very chill and quiet. They really do intend this place to be specifically for sleeping and I’m glad it is. I’m too old to be hopping through hostels with young backpackers partying it up all night, and Nap York had none of that. Very peaceful and respectful even the common area was meant to be chill. And despite that I rarely got to see many guests. Which is kinda good. It never felt crowded. The rooms vary by size with the amount of pods (bunks) in them. Ours housed 5 but one guest had a “room” within the room to himself, meaning only 4 were in the main room. My pod was just as displayed here. Very comfortable, and nicely furnished with lighting and power for all my devices. The bad thing about it was getting into it. The way they’re positioned makes it harder to climb into. Especially with the minimal steps it has to stand on. Wouldn’t recommend for older or not so agile guests. I also think they should build out the tops of the bunks for better storage as I preferred keeping my luggage on top than on the floor blocking anyone’s path. There were also small lockers there but you need your own lock to use. The bathroom area is small but clean. Unfortunately they don’t really provide you with any amenities (to keep costs down it makes sense) so you have to be prepared to have all your toiletries on hand. Even a wash cloth. The downside is that one bathroom is shared with all the guests in that room. So if it is occupied you’re kind of SOL. Luckily at times you can ask the manager to let you use a vacant one but it’s a bit weird to go into another room to use theirs. But hey when you gotta go, you gotta go. There’s also a shared kitchen with teas, dishware and a communal fridge that you can label your items with your name to keep safe. I didn’t have any issues there, though the fridge was jam packed, it was hard to imagine that many people were staying there. Location was a key point in booking Nap York. It’s so close to Columbus Circle and Central Park and Times Square and every bus and train line you need. It really is a great location. Highly recommend for those traveling light and on a budget.

The hostel was okay. No social aspects, no real place to answer phone calls. There is a filter water tap in the hostel with cold water which was probably my favourite thing. I had a leak in the ceiling in my room and they avoided every cost to get rid of it. The leak lasted my entire stay and would drip on me every time I would use the ladder up to my bunk. The hostel is pretty clean I must say. Personally I didn’t have the best stay due to the last night getting locked out of my dorm for an hour as the code had changed and nobody had notified me of it. No one at reception past midnight and no contact number. Very frustrating.

My husband is a night shifter immediately got off work to fly to New York for a mini vacation. We’ve got a busy day planned this evening and he wanted to get a few hours of sleep so he wouldn’t be crabby later. This place is perfect! I did not stay in the rooms, but hung out in the common rooms for a while. There’s 3 floors of rooms, with a common room with kitchenette. The second floor has a community bathroom and shower. The third floor is female only. The kitchenettes had free tea and waters and other kitchen appliances. There were places to store your luggage in the common rooms with a chain attached to the wall so no one can walk off with your bags (and the chains don’t make it look gaudy or trashy). The common room spaces have about 10 seats and a work space table. While I didn’t stay in the pod itself I was just super surprised at this place. It’s very nicely located, the service has been PHENOMENAL. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. This is a comfortable, clean, and safe place to be. And is also very inexpensive.

The location is perfect, everything was in walking distance. You could hop on the subway just around the corner. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bunks were fantastic! It was a little lamp in there, shelf to hold a few of your belongings and plenty of outlets to charge your electronics. I was quite surprised at how comfortable the bed was, I slept like a baby. Overall the cleanliness was really good, my only complaint is the hair in the bathroom. I would definitely stay again.

It was my first time at Nap York, but not my last. It is such a nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are good size. The bathroom and sinks were clean. The locker in the room is good size to fit my middle size suitcase. Only small thing is that I missed being able to have Some fresh air in the room. That would have been Nice. You can use the kitchen and “living room” which was very Nice.

Great hostel in an amazing location. Rooms were clean, quiet, and felt safe. I love the pods, there was an outlet and light in each one, as well as a large locker with a mirror and hooks for hanging clothes for each person. About as much privacy as you can get in a communal room. I was there during a heatwave and they cranked up the A/C, so it was a great reprieve from the heat outside.

It was pretty good what I was looking for. Amazing location. Rooms pretty nice and silent. Guest kitchenette in every floor (unexpected and happy because of that) bad part, 3 out of 4 staff members I meet, lack of servicial, took me 15 min to get a room even if it was 11 pm and had already done check in online as the person in reception started chatting, talking and instruction 6 other people that arrived after me without just giving me the number and the code. I wish the cleanliness inside the room was better. I was 2 days and in none of those days the bathroom was cleaned, trash wasn’t taken out. Same garbage same spots in the shower over the weekend. All rest good. Bedrooms comfortable, spacious lockers

Very loud in the sleeping space, there is no sound insulation from the street, so I heard traffic, music and yelling all night. The room/bed itself was very clean. Shower was clean, hot water and plenty of space. I did feel the bed frame shake when others moved.

I’ve stayed at a few hostels across Europe and this is a different class. Check in was simple, my room was on the 4th floor and there is a large elevator to get there. There is a work / chill out area on the floor with a kitchen. I was in a 6 bed dorm, beds were super comfy and private with the curtain. Good sized lockers and plenty room to get changed. There is a shower room / toilet also which was perfect. The hostel is fairly central and plenty of coffee shops, bars etc close by. No real noise from the street, kept my luggage for a few hours after check out. The only improvement I’d make is to not have it so hot at night with the ventilation. I’d definitely recommend and stay again!

I have spent 9 nights and the place is so awesome. I genuinely recommend this place for those who want to relax from busy life. The place is located near to many main tourist attractions such as Central park and Time Square. Thanks to Nap york for providing free water and tea/coffees. Ms. Yonyee and her colleagues were very well mannered, friendly and always available for any assistance required.

Great stay for me, checked in easy. I stayed in the 'business' twin sleeping pod room. 2 good nights of sleep. Secure large lockers and places to hold your luggage when you check-out. Location is excellent (short stroll to either Time Square or Central Park). God clean bathrooms, places to fix food + drink (free tee and coffee provided) and solid WiFi. Got a mystery bill for $27 but when I came to collect my bag I was told it was a mistaken late checkout as the cleaner had said my pod was still occupied at 11am (it was my neighbours), all refunded and staff we're great. Highly recommended.

The staff is friendly and very helpful anytime the room needed something for the bathroom, etc. I would appreciate someone 24-7 at the front desk to make sure it is 100% safe that no one comes in after hours. Some rooms were good and others need a bit of an update with renovation but they are in the process of that. Also cleaning was usually quite good in some rooms and not as tidy as others. I moved around a lot and they accommodated my stay! It was one of the best hostels I have stayed in NY!!!

Definitely worth it to do the business pods instead, they're much nicer, quieter, and you only split it with one other person. This is a really great option if you're ok with sharing some common spaces and don't need some of the frills you get at a hotel. The pods are comfortable with plenty of lighting & power, common areas are roomy enough. Considering it's less than half what hotels are currently running it's absolutely worth using.

My experience at Nap York Central Park was just perfect. Perfect location, comfortable rooms, nice kitchenette area… don’t have anything to complain about that place. I was able to do a lot of things by walking, which was awesome. Cleaning was also very good. Free coffee, tee, milk, water… you really should stay there if you don’t want spend a lot of money in hotels.

The location is great for the theatre district. Very clean rooms, spacious lockers, en-suite shared rooms-all great value. The beds are comfortable and a cozy blanket is welcoming. The female only section was quiet and relaxed. The kitchenette offers a microwave, kettle, coffee and tea, and filtered water — recommend highly.

Liked almost everything about this hostel. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean. However, starting at 6:30am, very loud music began playing, which made it impossible to sleep. I assume it is coming from a building next door. Perhaps that’s just life in NYC. They also charge your credit card $100 when you check in, as a “damage deposit”, and claim that they will refund it when you check out. Never experienced something like this in any hotel or hostel I’ve ever stayed in, in any country. If they charge me for anything, I suppose I’ll just dispute it with my CC company.

The hostel has a great location, near Central Park and walking distance to MOMA and other attractions. There are a few cafes around where you can find easy, affordable and quick breakfast. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was cleaned every day. Make sure to put all your belongings in the locker because otherwise they will be taken to the lost&found or stolen, and you might not get them back. The staff was very helpful and the services were as described on their website.

I had my hopes up with this place, it is a great location. However, the room with 6 beds, was set at 80F. And they said they couldn't turn the temperature down when I asked. There is no fan and you can't open the windows. The temperature was unbearable so at midnight I checked out and walked down the street to another hotel. They also ran out of locks so I had to purchase a $12 lock from a store and there is not towels to dry your hands in the bathrooms, frustrating. Would not recommend, I can't imagine how hot it would be here in the summer.

  • 5/5 Brittany T. 4 months ago on Google
Mario at the front desk was so accommodating and nice! The beds were really comfortable and private. I also appreciated the large lockers in the room and the little shelf by my bed. It’s close to several restaurants and a CVS. Times Square was about a 15 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again!

I've been to this place numerous times it's not bad if I was to say anything bad about it it would be the fact that the Central Park area do not have a phone to text back nor pick up. I don't understand what's the point of offering the phone number if no one ever picks up. when I text I get the Manhattan area and then they tell me to text the Central Park area since I'm booked there and when I asked them what the number is for the Central Park area they say they don't know lol it's kind of confusing but one of the people name Erica at the Central Park area that works there is nice I think she makes it a pleasant experience with her customer service. The bed is clean from what I see with my eyes it's not like I had a black light looking everywhere for nasty stuff but from what I could see the place seems clean I get silence when I'm trying to sleep which is a plus. it's kind of cold a little bit but you can also ask for a extra blanket. My experience has not been bad but one thing I would say about the owner of this place (which I've never met) reading his or her replies to the people complaining it seems a bit unprofessional and condescending which can make the place look bad and amplify the negative reviews making it appear true. If I did not experience the place on my own and just read your replies alone id be turned off and would look elsewhere. With all due respect please stop talking to people that way if someone has something bad to say about your establishment just apologize for their experience an offer accommodation or just say nothing at all. Arguing with people in the reviews is a bad look especially coming from the owner.

For $140/night near Central Park, you can't beat the price. I was on the female only floor, with a set of 2 bunk beds. The privacy curtain blocks out 99% of light from the motion sensing lights in the room. My room was so hot and I wish I had a small fan for my bed area to cool my space and for some white noise to help me sleep. Each bunk comes with its own outlets, small book light and a metal shelf for some items. And bring a lock for the locker! Lastly, there are ways to lock excess luggage to a wall in the common area near the kitchenette.

🌟 The Middle Of It All!!! 🌟 ..... a 15 min walk to Times Square. ..... Crazy Cheap when you only need a place to rest between adventures (especially for single travelers who can't afford Manhattan prices!) .....Kind staff who went above and beyond to make it a good experience! ★ Straight from the Airport, Dropped my luggage off, walked the 15 min to Times Square and started exploring immediately, knowing my bed would be ready and waiting when my check in time was set. They made it so easy, and it was a great first experience with them. Thank you!!! ..... I Highly Recommend the Business pods!!! They have pull down black out shades, soothing ambiance sounds, and twinkling stars when the lights go out. That, plus a super cozy and warm comforter made for a great night's sleep!!!

The staff was super nice and friendly, the beds comfy and the hostel clean enough. The position of the hostel is perfect for exploring New York and close to Bus Stops and Subway. All in all the hostel is really small and dark though, we were missing a proper common area to socialize. The price was quite high but probably that’s what you have to pay in New York.

This place is great. The check-in process was easy, everything can be done online, or can be done on a pad at the location. They have 6-room dorms or 2-pod rooms, which I have both used. You get a shared bathroom inside the rooms, which is better than the whole hostel sharing 1 bathroom. The roommates you get are random, but I am happy with the people that I came across with. They have free coffee and tea. There are easily accessible restaurants within the vicinity of the hostel. It is so close to Times Square and Central Park. I definitely recommend this place.

Right, so, let me clear the air right away here and say that I did experience a rather significant issue during my stay at Nap York, and there are a few things at the space which are confusingly absent, but in the end management handled my requests accordingly. A firm believer in the “all’s well that end’s well” ethos, I certainly appreciated it. Now, for the details. I arrived at Nap York before the standard check-in time, although I was able to check-in anyway and drop my things off. I was let in by one of the friendly staff members (more on this in a moment, seriously they are great) and since I didn’t need to exit the room again, I never had to enter my key code on the pad and thus not have to fiddle with the entrance mechanism on the door. Oh, but fiddle I did. I returned shortly after midnight, knowing there was no 24-hour reception. My code, which was emailed to me, didn’t work on my door. I tried many times—even knocking on the door (which felt so against the spirit of the place but come on, I had to do what I had to do)—to no avail. I even checked in again from a self-check-in kiosk, getting a new code that also didn’t work. While I was able to get a bed in a hostel conveniently located downstairs (though unaffiliated) I shudder to think of the fate of someone in the same circumstance but not a white American male who has lived in New York City before, with a working phone, speaks English—you get it. Not to mention this was happening from 1AM to 3AM. I say this not because it posed an issue, I can function on very little sleep just fine—but to bring forth a suggestion to Nap York that they not only fix that, but employ an overnight line or have someone on-call during those hours. That said, management reimbursed me no questions asked and did so promptly. I appreciate that. Not to mention overall, the place does live up to the restful sleep philosophy they sprinkle all around like sleep dust. Plus the location is ideal for getting around. Above all though, it was Giselle and Julia that made my stay there really exceptional. Keep it up you two, you put the power in the nap. Cheers

A remarkable stay in new york Staying at Nap york hostel has been a great experience. First off the location is perfect, just a few minutes’ walk from Times Square as well as Central park and metro stations are close by. Then the staff has been amazing, caring, lovely and this made my stay even more special. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. I couldn’t find even one reason for not recommending this place to everyone.

The pods are very cozy and super reasonably priced for the area. The staff was super helpful, the spaces clean, and the rooms quiet at night. Great option for those only staying a night or two in the city.

The location is unbeatable! It is essentially a hostel with all goods/bads of a hostel. Stayed in a 4-mixed room which had a bathroom in the room which was nice. It was reasonably cleaned. There was enough space and lockers for a key which is another plus. One thing I would improve is the automatic light. At night when someone comes or just goes to a bathroom you get a full light in the room. They provide eye mask but I could not use it - was not comfortable.

Very clean and safe space. Everyone is respecting of the rules. They had a bit of a mix up, giving me a mixed 2-pod room though I had booked a female only pod room. Nonetheless they gave me a small refund for the error. Facilities were good and staff were very helpful. Would stay again.

Had a great 4day stay at Nap York. The location is perfect, just 5mins walk from Central Park with lots of food options available(recommend the breakfast place just next door). Stayed in the 6Bed Dorm and the privacy was really good with curtains. Private bathroom in the room which was clean. The Hostel provides Water/Tea/Coffee for free and has enough storage in the fridges. A good place for solo travellers, people are welcoming and you can hang out easily, would come again!

I really loved it! the place is clean and quiet, awesome to have a nap after a long day walking around the city! I got the double room with private bathroom, it was perfect for me, I felt super safe! The receptionists were very attentive and kind! I highly recommend this hostel.

This is the one and only type of hostel. Quiet and clean. Perfect if you want to rest after a long day of sightseeing. Beds are comfortable and the pods guarantee privacy. The location is the best part, close to everything. Thank you!

It was a great experience. It was exactly what I needed for the weekend while I was there. The location is great. There’s a 24 hour CVS a block away for any last minute things you might need and there are plenty of food options nearby. The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful for any concerns one might have. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in the city. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience.

Staying at Nap York has been a very positive experience. The hotel is right in the middle of Manhattan, it is close to the subway and everything that you could wish for is right there! The rooms are nice and clean and the curtain in front of your bed gives a nice bit of privacy.

Amazing experience, was beyond my expectations!! I stayed here last year was originally concerned about safety being it might “feel like” a hostel and Covid but wow it’s like being in a 5 star hotel but for a fraction of the price. Shared facilities like shower were sparkling clean and they did a good job that all guests keep their boundaries. Def staying again

Unbeatable value for money. The localization is great (approx 300 meters to Columbus Circle and Central Park). Siomara and the whole team is beyond friendly and helpful. Despite the renovation/adoptation of additional floors the place is very clean and tidy. Pods with comfortable beds. 24/7 reception provided a free luggage keep for 12hrs after I checked out. Absolute recommendation to price conscious travellers and a great alternative to hostels.

My stay was wonderful! I stayed for 2 nights for a work trip in a female room. The guests are polite and courteous. The facilities are clean, bed is comfortable, soft bedding and a big bath towel were provided. There is also a common kitchen & lounge space with a fridge, and complimentary tea and coffee. The staff is very friendly and attentive to any questions - thank you team! I’m staying there again soon, so recommend it highly!

Really enjoyed my stay at this hostel!! Was my first time staying at a hostel alone and this place thoroughly exceeded all my expectations. The hostel felt really safe, and it was also clean and quiet. They had many amenities: their kitchen even had a kettle AND a hot & cold water dispenser! I could also store my bag at the hostel after I checked out. Super satisfied with my stay. Highly recommend!

Overall was a great stay, location was amazing and staff lovely. I found the room way too hot on my first night and they turned the heating off for my remaining nights. Facilities were clean and well maintained.
