Finally got a reservation here after wanting to come for so long! I love this place, definitely my favorite out of all their sister restaurants! The side dishes were so good I love their kimchi! We got the rice cake and I was not expecting it to be the best rice cake I've ever had! It was crispy outside and not too saucey like the traditional kind. The drinks were good and pretty. And I love the ice cream dessert too! 10/10 recommend and will definitely come back (if we can get a reservation again lol)

An intimate Korean restaurant with a small menu but big, delicious flavors. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Refreshing cocktails and light appetizers. Despite the large entree portions, you get a little bit of everything and walk away not feeling too full. I'd happily eat here again. Can't say enough good things about the tasty, flavorful food!

A welcome addition to the evolving definition of what brunch is in America. In the same way that dim sum changed what brunch could be in the states, Her Name is Han is offering a different image of brunch from a Korean perspective. The food is delicious and delicately made. It's simple, but done excellently. It hits a lot of the comforting notes that you'd expect from a home cooked meal. It's just plain good. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation as walk-ins can be expected to wait at least an hour before a table opens up.

We got the sesame tofu, shrimp pancake, (seasonal) chicken noodle soup, and budae jjigae. I thought the sesame tofu was delicious and creative, and the other dishes were decent. There was a lot of people waiting outside when we went on a Saturday at 7:30, so would highly recommend making a reservation if you’re going at peak hours.

The food was great! However, my family and I thought that it was too pricey. Although we thoroughly enjoyed the food, we all agreed that we expected a bit more for the price. Great service and friendly staff!

There was a 30 min wait on a Wed night. But it's totally worth it. Their food is outstanding. We had tofu as a starter and it was like a souffle in texture and with amazing sauce, which turned it in a total delicacy. We also chose pork belly which we couldn't stop eating. And the crispy shrimp pan cake was really good too. Small sides were delicious as well. Kimchi is unforgettable. And I had an old fashioned cocktail which had interesting tubes due to non-traditional soju as the base. Our server was very attentive and thoughtful

A very cozy restaurant great for any occasion! We visited during brunch hours and were surprised by how small the menu was, but the selection was great so no complaints. Our favourite item was the fried cod (under small bites), the tartare sauce was so good highly recommend! The lunch sets may seem small but we were very full after. Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu!

Very good quality food, but it's missing spiciness. Specifically, if you are looking for spicy food, this is not the place to go. The kimchi and all of the banchan (side dishes) were not spicy at all. It's kind of like hipster Korean food with the eclectic atmosphere and decor to match. I think this is a great place for people who don't want or can't handle spicy food. I can appreciate the quality of the food, but it's not my favorite because of the lack of spiciness.

Randomly decided to give this place a try and WOW i'm glad we did. Simple lunch menu but the multiple side dishes really make up the whole meal and experience. Everything was simple yet so good, the restaurant is self is small and cozy and the waitresses/ waiters were very nice and attentive. I got the Pork Belly (which I heard that they were really good here) Salted Mackerel and the Corn Croquettes. I absolutely love this place I wish they had a store here in Toronto!

An absolute recommendation! Her name is Han is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in! Who likes Korean food, should definitely check out this spot! No matter if classic dishes or fancy creations, we really liked everything! As an appetizer everyone got a small mix plate, which was a perfect entry into this culinaty delight. Since everything sounded super tasty, we really ordered a lot, but my favorite dish was the rice cake! For dessert I recommend the tiramisu - so so so so good! It is a little bit more expensive than other restaurants, but the money is so worth it!! We have been in the restaurant 20 minutes after opening, without a reservation, and luckily we got a table. If you come here, I would recommend to do a reservation in advance or be there early enough, because 10 min later, the restaurant was completely full and they have to sent people away, who didn‘t had a reservation

Cozy atmosphere and good food but the service was very average. The desserts were especially good! However, they completely forgot my order so all of my friends were almost done by the time my food arrived. I was still charged full price for my food and received no apology. That being said, I would still recommend this place.

Fantastic Korean comfort food! I went to the restaurant after a few happy hour drinks and needed some comfort food to cleanse my soul. The food did not disappoint. The bibimbap was huge and hit all the right places. The staff was friend and attentive. Highly recommend the place. I will come back for the hot pot as every table has one.

Came with a few friends, had a great time! The pork belly was very yummy and soft, amazing texture! Side dishes were also very tasty!! The seafood pancake was also good and had a nice crispiness to it. Also enjoyed the seafood soup. Overall everything was very tasty and comforting, would definitely come back and recommend to anyone

I knew this place from running by from Instagram and it did really good. Amazing taste with a touch of sophisticated details that they put an effort on the dish. I haven’t ordered slow cook pork belly but I saw from others table and it look so yummy. Lunch set come with a proper portion for one person to get full. Staffs service is amazing. Highly recommended to make a reservation even me I came around 1pm, it is still crowded.

Highly recommended for small groups of 2-4 looking for a tasty lunch. The food is tasty, and we enjoyed the bulgogi bibimbap and the spicy pork. For what it's worth, the pork tastes like the best Philippines barbecue pork skewer (a.k.a. inihaw). Very worth it at its price point for Korean cuisine. If no alcoholic beverages are ordered, then the cost per person for lunch is between 20 to 30 with tax and tip. Remember to make a reservation, because a queue forms shortly after opening time.

I can’t believe I forgot to take photos of the food. I had dinner here with a friend. We had to wait for about 20 min for a table but it was fine. The service was great. The food was served in a timely manner. We got fried cod, sweet and sour chicken fried rice, and galbi. All were great. I will def come back to try other dishes.

Really delicious lunch sets and reliable quality of food! Love all the little apps that the main dish comes with, keeps each bite interesting. The tofu with the black sesame sauce was especially good. I see for dinner they offer a bigger version and I look forward to getting that when I’m back! Also appreciate that they take reservations, helpful as this place is popular.

They don't offer reservations for brunch, but really manage their wait times well. Four of us walked in on a Sat afternoon around 12:45 and were told that there was a 30 min wait. Their waitlist did accommodate us within that time and we were seated ready to place our order. Noise levels were on the average end and the overall ambiance and setup is on the brighter side with really comfortable seating. I would recommend high chairs for toddlers & youths! They are light on the cocktail menu (all Soju based) but one of us did order the Peach Blossoms ($13) and Mint Garden ($14) the latter being the better one. They also had a Devils' Path IPA on draught which we enjoyed. For food, you cannot go wrong ordering their amazing Fried Cod ($15), Han Dumpling ($10) and a very delicious Tofu dish - Black Sesame Tofu ($11) even if it was a cold starter. Their portion sizes are generous and keeping that in mind we shared two mains between three adults which included Yuzu Chicken Noodle Soup ($20) and an extremely tasty Veggie BBQ ($21) entree - which interestingly came with eggs and a beef side (which I thought was amusing)! Service was quick and food arrived within 25 minutes of ordering. They are very particular about their closing times and we were denied a beer after they announced their last call. Totally understand and appreciate that (not complaining)! Will definitely visit again.

Came here almost at closing time like 1:50 pm but they still sat us down with no wait! The servers were super attentive and came by a lot and checked in on us a lot which I appreciated a lot. Good: Best corn croquettes I've had in a very long time - super creamy and the ketchup added a lot too. I liked the chicken noodle soup as well - just really good broth and tasty hand pulled noodles. Would have liked it to be a little bit saltier though. I liked the KFC here too but it was a little dry. Bad: Relatively pricey - not huge portion sizes except entrees are massive. Overall super aesthetic cute date brunch place!

Super great experience. Her Name is Han is a popular Korean restaurant and the ambiance is cozy and lively. Amazing interpretation of modern Korean cuisine. Really creative menu, with a cool living room inspired decor. Very, very good service and amazing food, drinks and ambience. My Favorite dishes were their pancakes, hot pots and Bibimbap. The price of the food is really good for the quality of the dishes. Great music as well. Cant wait to go back.Would highly recommend as a must try place when visiting Korea Town in NYC.

Really solid overall with nice presentation but somewhat pricey. Would love to come back and try additional dishes. Slow cooked belly was delicious and well balanced. As was the kimchi pancake which had perfect crisp and the egg was a nice touch. Dumplings were standard. Stew was homey, spicy, and flavorful. The pork ribs were good but not spectacular. Service was really good. Dim, intimate, and cozy setting.

Excellent portions for price. Can definitely do one shared hotpot amongst two people. The rice cake, fish cake, noodles with assorted seafood and vegetables in spicy veggie broth was spectacular. Lots of ingredients with a delicious (sweeter than spicy) and deeply flavored broth. Service is great, no qualms about it. Great atmosphere. Very full restaurant.

We ordered the pork belly, shrimp pancake, and kimchi and pork rib pot. All of these were delicious! Their kimchi is really tasty and they go well with the pork belly and shrimp pancake. Make sure to reserve a seat before coming because it is very popular!

Excellent place to go with a group and share lots plates. Everything was excellent, with some highlights being the cold pine nut noodles with crab, Tteokbokki (my personal favorite and best I’ve ever had), and grilled bulgogi. The grapefruit soju is also great for sharing.

VERY on time with reservations— we love that! As such, making a booking is highly recommended. It got quite crowded on a Monday night for dinner. Prices were fair, my friend and I just got a ridiculous amount of food to try a breadth of dishes (I paid $62 for two appetizers, a main, and a cocktail). Service was very friendly and quick. I tried the asparagus appetizer, rice cake appetizer, and garlic chicken main, along with the spring fling cocktail. I enjoyed all of them, except for some little differences in personal preference (ie, the extra garlic seasoning on top the chicken was surprisingly sweet, and I would have preferred the chicken be kept more savory since the side salad already had a sweet chili dressing), but these did not impact how much I enjoyed the meal overall. I definitely recommend the rice cake appetizer… it has a crispier outside than other tteok I’ve tried, giving it a unique and very addicting texture! Would recommend for sure, and plan to come back to try the mandoo and soups to share.

Their Yuzu Chicken Noodle Soup was very definitely a hearty meal. They gave generous amount of chicken and the noodle was perfectly cooked. I’ll definitely go back to try their dinner menu.

Wonderfully cozy and homey dining experience! Galbi hot pot was so comforting and flavorful, something my mom would make at home in the winter. The kimchi pancake was so crispy and actually had a kick and you could taste the kimchi, which is where a lot of kimchi pancakes fall short. The bossam pork was a little dry for my taste, but the black sesame tofu was such a refreshing appetizer. The interior design and ambiance were very nice and gave the feeling of being at home, which is successfully conveyed by the restaurant as a whole.

Came here on November 2021 after scrambling to find a place to eat in Ktown because the initial restaurant told us the wait time was 1 hour. We were lucky to be seated right away because a table for 2 just opened up in the fully-seated restaurant at the time. Now I'm getting pretty good at checking Yelp and choosing what to order, so we got the fried chicken, pork belly, seafood pancake and grilled short ribs. Seems like Yelpers really likes the fried chicken so much that they have to highlight it, but for me personally, although it was good it wasn't anything special. The pork belly was something to talk about; It had a nice fat to lean ratio so every bite was flavorful but not overly gross with too much fat. The grilled short rib was worth mentioning as well, not so much about the good quality but about their careful attention to cooking it. Short ribs can come out too chewy or undercooked if you miss the spot but this restaurant got it right. I've been to many modern, trendy Korean restaurant archetypes so I can say that if you're just here for the food, this restaurant definitely delivers good value when it comes to price to quality. I'm glad to have stumbled upon this establishment and I look forward to trying more of their extensive menu in the future!

Came here for lunch because we saw they had Korean lunch sets. Reservations were easy to make online. They seated us very promptly. The menu is online but you order on a piece of paper at the table. We started with the kfc which came with pickled radishes. The lunch sets came out soon after. We liked the tuna sashimi bibimbap more than the hoke. We were full but we wanted to try some of their desserts. The only down side to the meal was the tiramisu was rock solidly frozen and we waited a bit to see if it would melt but the nice air conditioning probably kept it from thawing.

  • 4/5 Julia H. 2 years ago on Google
Was pretty excited to try out the dishes here since I see the creativity in the Menu. It was ok but could be improved more if you are selling expensive experiences. The bulgogi was well flavored but was slightly tough to chew; the veg in bibimbap could have some seasoning instead of just serving raw veg. The only dish that I will recommend is the sesame tofu. 3+1 for the staff..

A wonderful dinner! I recommend placing reservations as the normal wait on a Sunday was ~ 45 minutes for a table of 3. The service was very quick as well, as we got our first appetizer in less than 10 minutes of sitting down, so expect the turnaround to be quick (we were there for an hour max). We loved the black sesame tofu - a creamy and light texture! We also had the normal-sized pork belly and the veggie bibimbap. Those three dishes were enough for 2 people to feel satisfied :) One of my favorite homey restaurants in NYC!

I have a LONG time to experience excellence at a restaurant, and Her Name is Han really hit the spot. Everything is thought through, from the design of the menu, to the take away bag - you feel a piece of home away from home when you're there. The food is EXCELLENT, and if you notice that the date will be stamped on your charger plate. I got the bipimbap and the sesame ice cream- portions are great! A must go!!!! Service is incredible too!

PSA: Raw marinated crabs are NOT served during Saturday and Sunday brunch soooo do not do what I did and come on a weekend during lunch hours expecting to finally try their crabs. Ended up ordering their Korean Fried Chicken, Mini Budae Hot Pot, and Baby Octopus Pasta. The fried chicken was mid. Not worth it. Nothing special. Tasted like unseasoned chicken battered in cornstarch. The sweet and sour sauce couldn’t even save it because it wasn’t that appealing either. Pickled radish didn’t even taste pickled. Just crunchy bland radish. Save your money and do not order that as an appetizer. The entrees were worth it though. It came with decent amounts of banchan and serving sizes of the main dishes were relatively decent. The baby octopus pasta was definitely more delicious than the budae because to be honest, you can make budae with items you most likely already have in your kitchen (ham, spam, rice cakes, ramen, beans, etc.), but who has octopus in their freezer/fridge? And who has the time to clean octopus to cook it??? So I highly recommend the baby octopus pasta because it’s different and not something you can easily whip up in the kitchen unless you have access to stuff like that. Lastly, I really like the style of this restaurant. You can tell they have a niche for reuse and recycle. I like the old-fashion type of decor especially the light fixtures and the kitchen appliance appearance on the front of the counter by the kitchen. I also like how they have hooks on the wall by the seats so you can hang your jacket/bags as seen in one of my pictures. I hung my denim jacket and purse. I appreciate that they try to make the most out of their limit dining area so the addition of those hooks for their customers’ accommodations is awesome! When I come back to visit NYC, I plan to return to this place because I really want to try their raw marinated crabs! Service was also great. We made reservations so getting a table was easy, and our server was attentive throughout our dining experience. Thank you, Noah, for taking care of us!

This is a cozy place tucked away near the flatiron. Food is delicious and we tried ALL the vegetarian options in the menu. The rice cakes, tofu with sesame sauce, corn croquettes were very unique and exquisite. We also got the dessert with black sesame ice cream and green tea cookie crumble. It was heavenly!

The banchan (side dishes) were delicious. I especially enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the extra crispy kimchi. The black sesame tofu was my favorite new dish by far. The sauce gave it a delicate fragrance retaining the nutty flavor as my spoon swiftly cut through the silky tofu. The fried parsnip and beet were the perfect contrast of texture and color. The crispy kimchi pancake with the egg yolk was a delight of flavor. And our bibimbap with beef bulgogi was beautiful and tasty. There were so many fresh vegetables and fluffy rice that rounded out the dish. The restaurant was absolutely packed and our waiter was expertly trained. What a wonderful evening.

Was so excited to squeeze in a visit here after a walking tour of Madison Square Gardens/the Flat Iron area. Managed to get a table just in time, as the place was packed for Sunday lunchtime. We ordered the lunch plated and one thing for sure is that you will not leave hungry, no matter what you decide. The army stew, the yuzu chicken noodle and salmon are all lovely - but the real star of the show are all the little sides. Was so fun to try all the different flavours and textures as part of the overall dish, and everything culminated in a very fresh tasting lunch on quite a cold Sunday. My only regret is not being able to visit for the weekday lunch/dinner menu, as that too looks phenomenal.

Finally come back to New York and try this restaurant. The vibe here is like japanese izakaya although we did not order any soju. We try their famous pork belly, it’s so soft while not being too much fatty. And the pancake is so crispy and flavorful. And rest of the food are yummy too. We also love the service and ambiance in here.

Made a reservation for brunch. The place is busy during lunch time with line of customers. Recommend to reserve a table during lunch or dinner hours to avoid waiting. Friendly staffs, foods are great. Service is fast once the order is taken. Lunch menu might be different with diner menu. For lunch it is served in a tray with a main dish, and soup, salad.

Got the pork kimchi stew and garlic roasted chicken. Stew is easily a 5/5 and portioned very well for 2 people to share. Garlic roasted chicken...it's good but I found it too sweet. Also the portion is comically small (maybe around 6oz of chicken thighs?) , basically the size of my palm. Restaurant was absolutely packed but opted for take out instead.

On a recent spontaneous trip to New York to catch a Sunday performance, I found myself at 'Her Name is Han' in K-Town, eager for some comfort food. Although they were serving their brunch menu, it seemed perfect for my cravings. I began with a terra beer and selected a few small plates. The fried cod accompanied by Maesaegi tartar sauce was reminiscent of an Asian twist on fish and chips - absolutely delightful. Their boiled pork dumplings were a succulent treat: soft, juicy, and bursting with flavor. However, the standout dish was the black sesame tofu paired with fried parsnip and beet. The sweet, savory, and nutty sesame flavor complementing the soft tofu was a refreshing experience. Additionally, I opted for a brunch set which included three banchan, soup, salad, deep-fried boiled egg, kimchi, potato salad, and rice. Every side dish was a treat, but the beef bulgogi set truly shone. The fire-grilled, thinly sliced marinated rib eye had the essence of a smashed patty and paired wonderfully with rice, making for a wholesome and comforting meal.

Korean food at its best. While there are quite a few good places to eat in K-Town, they provide the best value. Lots of options for different dietary restrictions. For lunch each main dish is served a soup, salad and sides. Everything is full of flavor and presented beautifully. The service is fast and attentive. The place gets packed during lunch hour so reservations are recommended.

What a popular restaurant for Sunday brunch! Without reservation we had to wait 40 minutes. The menu is rather simple, yet food is absolutely delicious. We love everything here, especially their side dishes. Compared to traditional Korean food, the food here is way lighter, which is right to our tastes. The servers were all very attentive and friendly, we didn’t need to wait too long for our food. Only wish the portion could be a little bigger.

Enjoyable dinner with the fam, not too long of a wait. Flavor and service was great. Shout out to the waiter who charged my phone for me. The corn croquettes were unreal!! My favorite. The stew was enough to feed 4 honestly.
