STAY AWAY AND FROM THIS UNETHICAL MEDICAL PRACTICE. And don't let their nice responses to bad reviews fool you. They never respond to emails or actually try to address the concerns. Echoing the many other real patients at this facility, I can attest that Manhattan Medical Arts is a money making scheme first, and a medical provider second. I went for a standard annual physical, which should be 100% covered by my insurance. I even verified this with the check-in staff when I arrived. So I was surprised to receive a bill for nearly $300 a few weeks later. After MONTHS of back and forth with MMA's billing department, during which I was repeatedly assured that this was an error that they would resolve, I finally spoke with someone at my insurance company who informed me that MANHATTAN MEDICAL ARTS PERFORMED SEVERAL UNNECESSARY TESTS THAT ARE NOT PART OF THE STANDARD ANNUAL PHYSICAL, AND ARE NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE. The MMA provider did not inform me that any of the procedures she was conducting would create additional costs for me. Moreover, they informed me that I would receive the results via phone call from the provider. Right before the call, the operator told me that they would charge me $70 for the provider to read my test results to me, which I promptly declined, since they had not informed me of this charge when scheduling the appointment. Following this, it took THREE WEEKS of consistent follow-up until my lab results were posted in the online portal. So either they withheld my results, or they didn't even have them when they scheduled the call. Unbelievably, a week later they charged me a $70 "no-show" fee. Based on the many reviews and complaints they have received about these same issues, it's obvious that MMA is aware of these issues and intentionally continuing to exploit patients.

Extremely unprofessional and hard to deal with. I was charged to my credit card $600 for a procedure which I didn't receive or ask for. When trying to contact the practice I went unanswered and the staff claimed to discuss any of my procedures I needed to schedule another appointment with the doctor. This practice is a scam and will also not even give you the prescription requested. When I came into the office for my appointment each time they cancelled and rescheduled my visit because "the doctor had left for the day." Overall the worst medical experience I have ever had.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY This place is a scam. I scheduled my first appointment to be over the phone and when the doctor called she spent 1 minute telling me I would have to come in to see the doctor (which I totally understand), but that the 1 minute phone call still was my first visit even though nothing was accomplished, and I would be charged fully. Please make your policies clear so that people know that scheduling a phone call visit will not actually accomplish anything but will still be charged fully as a visit.

I wanted this place to be great, but it just isn't. I went to them for over six months giving them the benefit of the doubt. They mistakenly charged my card on file for $100. I asked for them to remove my card on file because of that and they said they did. Unfortunately, I was mistakenly charged again, this time for over $700. Both charges were returned to me, but only after I called them about it. They also don't let patients know the next step for care. Without warning I got a call from my pharmacy saying my prescription couldn't be refilled without first seeing my doctor (This is for a very normal, daily prescription). Manhattan Medical Arts never notified me of an appointment to get a refill and wouldn't refill my prescription, even temporarily until I could get into the office for an appointment. They let my daily prescription just run out without a care in the world about it. Absolutely, would not recommend them.

I rarely write reviews but I am in this circumstance so hopefully I can help others avoid my experience! Do not go here! This is the most deceptive, for-profit doctor's office I've ever encountered. They will force you to take tests and get labwork done that you don't need just so they can bill you. I was lucky in that I have a good background medical knowledge and was able to decline doing certain labwork, but they really take advantage of people's trust of the system. If you're a current patient and they're asking you to do something you don't think you need - speak up! If you're contemplating visiting this doctor's office - don't do it!

Stay away from this office. They talked me into a test I didn't need, told me my insurance was accepted only to bill me for over 1K four months later. They were not reasonable when I asked for an explanation and would not reduce the cost. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING GOOD IN LIFE, DO NOT BECOME A PATIENT HERE! This is a business only. It is not a medical practice. I still receive bills over a year later that my insurance company paid in full. Their only practice is to overcharge on a visit. Literally nickel and dime you. The basic question “how are you doing today?” is charged as a mental health care check. They compel you to come back to the office when they do not have results to test- then charge for that office visit. If you call for answers, that is a charge as well. This office deserves to be investigated for overcharging insurance companies and individuals. They have and continue to try to scam me out of money.

I have never written a review before on Maps, so you can take it that this one really pushed me to do it. This place is a SCAM! I would be glad if they sue me -- but they won't. Here is their modus operandi: tell the prospective client that their insurance covers the appointment. Then, just see the client/patient -- no doctor, only a nurse! After a few months, they charge the credit card as they file the wrong insurance plan in the paperwork. After 4 months or so after having visited once, you get a bill of over $800 from the insurance. Their management doesn't help you at all. All the people here who have had such a bad experience should get together and file a complaint. Oh and they will try to take bad reviews down. I will make sure that this one doesn't. Note: my partner was a patient here and had this experience. I am posting this to maintain privacy. Update: they give a $5 Starbucks gift card if you rate them 5-stars.

Please, for the love of God, DO NOT GO HERE. Per all the reviews, this place is an absolute scam. I booked an online consultation to get my prescription re-filled and paid for this appointment only to find out that I had to book a follow-up in person appointment in order to get this re-filled. I was told by the doctor that in order for my script to be filled (one that I had been on for 4 years and take every day), they needed to do a blood work up and an EKG. I questioned this immediately as I have NEVER had to get an EKG during a simple annual exam and told the doctor explicitly that I did not want to do this as I knew how expensive they were. She ASSURED me that my insurance would cover this cost and being naive, I trusted that this "medical professional" would do right by her patient. THEN, I was told I had to book my THIRD follow-up exam to "review" my annual exam results. Well, that was scam #3 and at this point I knew better than to pay for another appointment to have some low-grade nurse tell me I was perfectly healthy. Well, 3 weeks later, sure enough, I get a $200 bill for the EKG and whatever else bs exam they gave me. On top of that, they never emailed my exam results and tried to charge me for a "no show" despite emailing them and texting them multiple times in advance to cancel. This is a DISGRACE and they are horrible people.

First, COVID tests are FREE in NY State. Go to CITY MD or the local NYC Health Clinics. Second, this provider is a SCAM. I just received a $200 bill dated 1/19/22 for a standard physical from 5/6/21. It looks like they billed the insurance company for tests I verified were 100% covered by my insurer and possibly some slick phrasing. Why am I receiving this bill when a patient changes their insurance coverage in the new year? If these charges can not get resolved, this provider is intentionally misleading, deceiving patients into services their insurance does not cover in full.

Horribly-run office. I picked it up due to the convenient location, but I am not coming back. They never honor appointment times and you get stuck waiting for an hour in the waiting room, while they keep saying “the doctor will see you any moment now.” In my last visit, scheduled to go over the results of the tests, they did not have the results ready, effectively wasting my time. Poorly run, rude, and they only care about charging for tests and services, not for patient care. Never going back there again.

Would not recommend as their "office policies" prevent them from providing the proper care to their patients. I was asked to email the doctor (who was not in at the time of my appointment bc it was a weekend) to receive proper documentation to share with my landlord. They never emailed me back and required that I make an appt to make the request directly with the doctor. Not only did I not see the doctor, but my appt was 30 seconds long and they firmly rejected my documentation request telling me to go elsewhere.

I do not recommend visiting here - I came in for a physical in Jan 2023 and have finally paid off the surprise bill (as it was no longer worth my time!) that came in the mail after unsuccessful back-and-forths with the clinic & insurance for ~10 months. The staff and doctors are very friendly and effective; however, the ineffectiveness of their billing department will prevent me from going back in the future.

Great service, rapid turnaround time on covid tests (even during the testing crunch of December 2021). Very friendly staff. AMAZING billing department. Had an issue with my bill, and Sham in billing was incredibly helpful. Stayed on the phone with me for 30 minutes to explain the situation and worked with me to find solutions. Will definitely be coming back here again and again.

First of all DO NOT BELIEVE any 5 star reviews because nowadays you can buy reviews from advertising companies,, But believe the real experience of patient and try to feel if its real reviews or fake reviews, I don’t write based on 1 patient experience but on many people that i know who try that mafia place 1- if you go for simple medical reason they will force you to do so many things not related to that reason just to make money!!! 2- they will ask you to must make another appointment in 2 weeks to continue the process and follow up!!! 3- if you need to call for a any reason regarding the visit or medication you will never get hold of them and if so they hang up in your face! 4- if you schedule appointment and you canceled it for any emergency reasons they will bill you cancellation fee and they depend on your signature and credit card on file!!!!! 5- most if not all of their doctors have no experience at all and they never listen to you, you will not get better on the medication, look at their schedule they always have availability because no one comes back only if you can’t find a doctor!! 6- they have multiple locations all same way .

I feel TRULY lucky to work with this extraordinary team. Everyone (from the doctor to the staff and the support team) cares and works with an unparalleled level of professionalism and efficiency! I came here for my green card medical exam and I needed the results within a really tight time frame. Regardless of these challenges, this team delivered! Special shoutout to Akeilia, Tanuja, Donna and Zona for staying on top of my case, going above and beyond with their unwavering support. Alex provided the most timely online support by being super responsive and patient via text and phone call which makes the communication process smooth and clear. Kudos to Dr. Hanif for building such a great team which works together seamlessly and is always on the patient’s side to deliver the best care! I highly recommend their services! THANK YOU🙏🙏

I wasn't even able to get seen the minute I walked in I was met with hostility from the receptionist. I walked in with an appointment she looked me up and told me I had a 100$ co-pay which is fine but when I asked about my free annual visit it seemed like a chore for her to look up then she rudely ask me "what are you even here for" I said I was here for my annual Checkup, She then proceeded to tell me whatever my insurance doesn't cover I would have to pay for out of pocket in a very rude tone. I then told her to cancel my appointment as if the first person I talk to at a doctor office treats me badly for just asking a question is not a place I would want to go to when I'm not feeling well.

I found Dr. Mauricio Silva on ZocDoc. I have been to see him a couple of times, and am very pleased with the service, thoroughness and attention to detail he gives. It is very important to find a Dr. who listens, and who gives the patient the feeling that they really do care about your health. Dr. Silva is all of that. That may sound obvious, but was not my prior experience from my previous Primary Care Physician. When I first met the Dr., I pretty much conducted an interview as I wanted to make sure we were a fit. I must also include Jacob who is my contact in the Dr.'s office. He is extremely helpful, especially when it came to having to get a prescription refill. Again, Jacob's attention to detail, and eagerness to help is stellar. And always makes follow up calls. I attend their location in Forest Hills, Queens and I can highly recommend Manhattan Medical Arts.

Regret coming here for primary care -- they hit me with a surprise bill of $2000 for services they told me would be $175. When I had my virtual appointment to go over results of lab work, they failed to have the results and never returned my calls, put me on hold for over an hour and I never actually received the results for the exam they surprise billed me with. When I tried to connect with them about the billing, I was unable to get in touch with an actual human. Overpriced and negligent health care practice. Really disappointed.

I went in for a recommendation for further medical treatment. To start, they were incapable of offering me a recommendation, which was a bit unexpected. However, they later billed me/my insurance for "skipping" a second appointment, which I did not schedule and had no knowledge of. There is no option to challenge this in the website or with my insurance, or to contact them from the website. I'm probably about to pay it, because it's only $70, but on the principle of the matter, I'd feel remiss not advising anyone I can to avoid them.

I discovered Dr. Hanif during the pandemic when my allergies required supervision for covid vaccinations. She was attentive and very caring during the 2 hour required observation. Her level of care and that of her staffers, like Joel and Ben, are the best. I chose Dr. Hanif as my primary care physician because she gives 100% to me as her patient -- no question is unanswered and I feel confident that every test or procedure I need will be approved. This is a fine practice!

I can already imagine this place will provide great services ! Thanks for Jacob for being so phenomenal! He provided great patient assistance and made sure to call almost and hour before hand . As I previously had a bad experience with a Bronx urgent care whom failed to follow up with a call at a reasonable time ( almost 3 mins before the actual appointment time ) and disconnected the call. If you can only imagine how agitated I was ! Not only that it wasn’t even a way to even return the call! Avoiding the patient booking no call no show ! Well played ! However, Thanks Jacob for soothing my anxiety , stress no furthermore ! I can’t wait until my actual visit , I’m sure it will only be another bonus for the team ! …. (Less than and hour later ) My visit with Akeilia Thompson, NP was amazing! She was very attentive and had great suggestions and recommendations! I highly Recommend!

The outstanding care provided, coupled with the welcoming demeanor of the staff and the pristine office environment, surely contributes to a top-notch healthcare experience. Such positive encounters can make a significant difference in one's overall well-being. had an exceptional experience with the PA Crystal today. Her kindness, helpfulness, and sweet demeanor created a comforting atmosphere, making my visit thoroughly enjoyable. The office itself was inviting, adding to the overall positive impression. Highly recommended for anyone seeking excellent care in a welcoming environment.

As with all the reviews below, I ALSO do NOT recommend coming here. Good providers but also got hit with the surprise cost. AND they will not release your blood test results online on your patient portal until you schedule a follow-up call with the provider --- which will cost you another visit's copay. In my case, it was another $35. They offer texting their clinic number to reach them more easily, as calling them may be a little more difficult to reach. I appreciated this idea at first. *However* if you ask about medication renewal (birth control) via texting their clinic, then they will bill it as a 'visit' with your provider. I just messaged their clinic to dispute it - will see how it goes, as other another review just pointed to their dispute being fruitless. The explanation for this charge on the patient portal lists it as: "Telephone evaluation and management service by a physician or other qualified health care professional who may report evaluation and management services provided to an established patient, parent, or guardian not originating from a related e/m service provided within the previous 7 days nor leading to an e/m service or procedure within the next 24 hours or soonest available appointment;11-20 minutes of medical discussion". Cool. Be mindful of any tests they add on during your annual checkup, which you've never had before at a checkup at any other doctor's offices, as they will provide it without any acknowledgement of whether there is any additional cost to your visit with it. Spirometry test (checking your breathing by blowing into a tube), EKG, etc. Was going to let my frustrations pass and just change practices after my new patient visit. But with this new charge reminding me of the frustrations... here is my review. My providers (Dr. Syra Hanif and NP Akeilia Thompson) were very nice, friendly, informational - I was a fan! But this business aspect of it will not have me returning.

I found Dr. Mauricio Silva through Zocdoc and everything went fine until it was the day of the video call. The practice called to confirm my appointment. At 10:00 am, he never shows for the video game. I gave him until 10:20 am and called the office to ask what was going on. They told me that he was wrapping up with a patient and would call me in 2 minutes. It's now 10:46 am and I have not received a phone call nor has he joined the video call. Highly unprofessional and not a good first impression.

PLEASE READ THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS TO GAIN BETTER INSIGHT INTO WHAT YOU WOUOD EXPERIENCE AS A PATIENT IN THIS CLINIC!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE. THEY ARE DEFINITELY PADDING THEIR RATING WITH RANDOM 5 STAR REVIEWS TO COMPENSATE FOR THE 1 STAR REVIEWS THEY’RE RECEIVING FROM REAL PATIENTS. Manhattan Medical Arts does not run as a medical practice providing adequate patient care— it runs as a business making as much money as possible from insurance companies. Your medical needs will not be met, your wallet will be drained, and you will have an impossible time getting in contact with a medical professional or admin if you have ANY question or anything related to your prescriptions BECAUSE THEY OUTSOURCE ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO A CALL CENTER!! No reputable medical practice does that. Because of this major gap in communication, it took 3 WEEKS to get them to transfer my prescription to a new pharmacy. They only took action after I put my foot down and would not let the call center dismiss me off the phone any longer. The delayed action is completely unacceptable, especially when it comes to medication management. Additionally, they would not write me a script until I did an echocardiogram. So I had one done at their office ($65). The follow up CALL (not an in-office visit) to review my echo results and get my script written was $30, but they didn’t have my results ready so no script was sent to a pharmacy. I basically spent $30 for nothing. Another follow up CALL was scheduled for when the results would for sure be in and they wanted another $30 for a call!! Absolutely not. And surprise— the echo results were still not in. At this point the NP just writes a script without the echo results. So the question here is if the echo was even necessary? It’s been 5 weeks since I’ve done my echo and still have not had my result released on my portal. $95 spent for a test that I don’t have the results to and a useless follow up call. (Please advocate for your results to be released in your patient portal and only schedule a follow up visit if there is a value out of range!!! Otherwise no follow up is needed. That is standard practice in the medical community. I only scheduled a follow up because I needed my prescription written.) Never have I had a practice bill me for a phone call or heard of a mandatory follow up (that you will pay for) to review test results that aren’t out of range. Additionally, they’re billing me for a test done during my annual physical when everything done during that visit is covered. And of course I wrote an email to their billing department with, surprise, absolutely no response from them. My experience at this disgrace of a medical practice has been a major inconvenience and the medical director of this practice needs to take notes from the reviews and restructure her practice to provide adequate patient care and not a scam of a medical practice making money off of insurance. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS NIGHTMARE AND LOOK FOR MEDICAL CARE ELSEWHERE

As a medical provider, I can assure you that this office does not care about their patients and ONLY cares about making the most amount of money. It is very upsetting to see an office take advantage of patients who do not have health literacy and trust anything a provider says. For example, they 'routinely' order Echocardiograms for patients every 2-3 years on any medication in any age group. This office is a SCAM, please do NOT go here.

I’d give zero stars if I could. Don’t waste your time here. Saw them after I got hit as a pedestrian; the first visit went well but the specialist they referred me to takes a while to get into/with the tests. Tried following up via their portal, text and calling as I needed some paperwork signed for work. No response. I had to make an appointment to talk to someone. They refused even after I explained my situation with the specialist. What doctor’s office doesn’t even try to emphasize and help the patient out? All I needed was a doctor’s signature. First primary doctor I’ve come across that flat out refused to sign this form. This office doesn’t have your health or wellbeing as a priority. Completely disappointed.

Getting a hold of the front office is close to impossible. However, they do offer a texting-service to ask any questions you have. Harryson, the person on the other line was EXTREMELY helpful. He even called me to make sure I got my forms in time and really went above and beyond. The main problem I had was the general cleanliness of the office/clinic. While the waiting room was clean enough, everywhere else was pretty gross... maybe even filthy? There was questionable drips running down the walls of the exam room, the bathroom was sticky and had brown splatter everywhere, the doors were supposed to be white but were brown/black due to everyone touching them?? Idk. Super gross.

STAY AWAY do not give these disgusting scammers your information. Preying on innocent people trying to navigate this insane healthcare system. In a moment of desperation I made an appointment, like a fool, then 30 minutes after making the appointment, I cancelled it when I felt something was off. DON'T GO THERE 1. Video visit is a fraud: Doctor didn't listen and the only thing she'll tell you is that you need to have a personal visit, then you get charged a visit fee. 2. Charge you for EVERYTHING - even a call to tell you the testing result, "it's good!" then you get charged a visit fee for this 10-second call. 3. Book appointments for you without reaching out for confirmation or waiting for your confirmation, then charge you a "no-show fee". A credit card dispute will be recommended. 3. Random doctors.

This is a great practice, as a patient I was treated very nicely. Staff members are very polite and always willing to assist in anyway. I hate going to doctors but enjoy going to this office. So welcoming!

Leaving a second 1 star review. I booked my appointment with them so I could get my medication refilled. Since my visit, i’ve requested a refill 6 times, called, texted, emailed and have yet to get a response. If i go a day without this medication, it has serious withdrawal effects. Clearly Dr. Syra doesn’t understand the impact she is having on her patients life. They took my $280 and ran.

My dad needed to get a PCR-RT test done for travel. I was able to book my appointment online and when I arrived the staff, Denise and Zoha, were very kind and helpful. My results came back within the promised 30 minutes. Thank you!

The stuff is amazing. I had to travel the next day to see my very sick parent and I needed 72 hr Covid test. Everywhere else was closed that day. They let me come in, by making a very kind arrangement. HIGHLY recommended.

I had a customer service call with Jacob, he was very attentive and helpful to my needs. The AI generated call did not work properly, right after I texted the number I got a call from him and I was able to get my appointment rescheduled. The doctors are great and the front desk manners are great too.

Manhattan Medical Arts has been very helpful to my health needs. All of the staff has been so helpful and very communicative. When I needed anything, they responded quickly and helped me, such as Joel who helped me over the phone. PA Chrystal Chung was very helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I visited this office today after making an appointment on zoc doc and saw Dr. Silva. I barely waited 5 minutes to be called in. Dr. Silva was nice and so the nurse but I’m very very thankful for Ben at the front desk (I think) the medication I was originally prescribed wasn’t covered by my insurance and he made sure to get the doctor to send a new prescription asap. I’m thankful for everyone in this office being sick sucks but when there’s help it’s manageable.

This place is hilarious (derogatory) and you should stay as far away as possible. I'm normally not the type to leave reviews, but yesterday I needed to get a rapid PCR test so I went here as it was one of the few places offering it. I took the test, was promised I'd get a result within a half hour, and left the clinic. Big mistake. After two or so hours, I still hadn't gotten an update on the status of the test. I tried to call. Nobody picked up. I left a message. No dice. (Turns out they outsource their entire phone operation to a call center, which is absolutely insane practice for a medical practice.) I ended up having to go back in person to ask them why the result hadn't posted yet, only to get some excuse about how there was a glitch in the system. At least I got my result at that point, although given how bad the experience was, I have very low confidence in the result. The real kicker here? I paid $175 out of pocket, costs that were not made clear anywhere on their website. I'm not surprised to see the other reviews here noting the predatory billing practices of this clinic; I can't even imagine what kind of bills I'd be getting if I trusted these people with my primary care.

👍👍 Everyone at the office is so nice. Dr. Shelton took his time with me and explained all my options without pushing me into anything. He’s wonderful and I trust his expertise. I felt he was looking out for my best interests and not just trying to sell me something. I also really appreciate the price t...

😠 I’m 32. Been going here since I was 14. The lack of communication and professionalism is ridiculous. I was told I needed to have a surgical procedure done and that I needed to meet the provider. On 3 different occasions I was scheduled at the office and each time I got there, staff notified me that...

😠 First of all, I'm a local this was the second time I went to this place. August 08 at 1:00pm, I did 3 person line and I overheard people were arguing at the front desk. My assumption was that of course front desk had an attitude base from last experience. Shortly, a young lady coming out saying to m...

😠 ZERO STARS. They botched my blood sample and lab could not run my tests. Now they are playing a cat and mouse game with phone calls and emails. During my second visit, one of their 'assistants' (will keep 'them' anonymous) asked me for a job because this place doesn't pay them enough. They also have...
