I cannot fathom how this hotel has such high ratings on here. I’ll leave a very honest review which I hope will help travelers. For starters I was in the city for business. The room is small but makes the best use of space there is no closet but there are lots of hooks all over the walls and 3 hangers. The shower did not drain properly. The lights were difficult to figure out - there were so many wall switches and one light I literally couldn’t figure out how to turn off, the front desk had no clue either and had to send maintenance up late in the evening to help and apparently this is a common occurrence. There is no iron or ironing board in the room - you have to call the front desk and have them bring that up. I waited 30 min and had to call a second time. The bar in the lobby is nicely decorated with good cocktails but the bartender service is horribly slow. The most frustrating part of the experience is the hotel staff routinely use their key fobs to override the main hotel elevator for their personal use which bypasses all other floors - a group of 6 of us were on and taken to the basement even though the lobby was selected. I even had a staff member override in the elevator with me which bypassed the floor I was staying on and there was no emergency when I called him out. I would not stay here again.

The view! The vibe! The smell! Everything hits you all at once, in a good way! Firstly, absolutely breathtaking view of NYC skyline from my room. Secondly, the vibe...the room was just right! It was cozy, tasteful, great colors, comfortable, and practical. You can tell the design behind this Hilton line was well thought out. The room smelled like it was cleaned well. In a pandemic climate, you want to be reassured that things are really clean, and the staff at Motto did a great job. Just as important as the amenities and rooms are, the quality of service from staff is right up there. There were plant based options on the menu at the restaurant, and the staff was super accommodating as well. Motto Chelsea definitely a hidden star - great location, great service, great amenities, and well worth it!

I had a great experience. First of all, they allowed us to do an early check-in, and the process was smooth. We received 2 free bottles of water and a $10 coupon, which we could use at the coffee shop in the lobby. The room size was adequate for NYC, equipped with a mini-fridge. Although there was no coffee machine in the room, we could enjoy great coffee downstairs using our $10 coupon. The elevator was surprisingly quick for such a tall building.

I normally am a big fan of Hilton Hotels but unfortunately, this one hasn’t been as good as my previous visits. The lady at check-in didn’t look us in the eyes when she was mumbling all the details about our stay. Also, there was no “hello” or “have a good stay”. Also the check-out was quick. No one asked about our stay etc. I’d expect more from a Hilton hotel. The rooms are small but very clean and modern. However, on our floor, the AC was super loud. When we switched it off, we could hear the humming from other rooms, which was probably just their AC working and it was loud. Try to sleep while hearing that. Basically, we couldn’t escape the loudness. We asked for someone to come and check but they said it was normal. Also, we constantly heard door slamming. It wasn’t the guests, I think it’s just the design of the doors. Every 5 minutes someone got in and out their rooms and we heard every move. There’re 4 elevators (for 40+ floors) and one of them didn’t work. Sometimes, we had to wait for 10 minutes until we could go down. Overall, the hotel has a really nice vibe but a few things could be much better - Especially, the loudness during a night time and the service.

Location was very good. There was a WholeFoods at the end of the block and a cute coffee shop ( Variety) nearby. Loved near by bar Oscar Wildes and brunch place Grey Dog for brunch. The Hotel was clean and modern. The standard room was VERY small -about 200 sq ft. However, we didn’t spend too much time in the rooms. It’s NYC! We were out the whole day and just crashed here at night.

Excellent location, very centric to main attractions. Very clean, modern, and comfortable bed. Plenty of paid parking lots in a short walking distance, same as coffee shops and late nights snacks. At the lobby the receptionists are very efficient and friendly, they help us to hold our luggage for a few hours even after checking out. They are "pet tolerant" for an extra fee. I'll stay again.

We loved our stay at the Motto in Chelsea- the location is excellent! The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Particularly the front desk staff, they were so kind and despite the busy hotel lobby, they were organized and efficient. The rooms are very well designed for despite the small city hotel rooms- there are nice details throughout the space, such as storage under the beds for your luggage, and hooks/shelving throughout, that make the small rooms feel bigger and very comfortable. The sink outside of the bathroom is also very nice.. Rooms were very clean and comfortable! Definitely would stay again next time I am in the city!

We had a wonderful stay at Motto by Hilton! We were greeted on a hot summer day with a warm welcome and cold water bottles. The lobby is lovely and a very nice place to sit and wait. Breakfast is delicious! The croissants are from an excellent bakery. The second floor lounge is a lovely place to visit with friends or have a snack. We stayed for an entire week. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable! The beds and bedding were lovely. The shower and organic body wash were luxurious. The view was spectacular. Even though all this sounds wonderful, the best part of our stay was the fabulous treatment by the staff. Particularly Alexis, who helped us print tickets to the ballet and helped when we had to have an emergency delivery to the hotel. We cannot thank her enough! We will definitely be recommending Motto to all of our friends visiting New York City.

My stay at Motto was amazing. The view of downtown NY from my room was thrilling and breathtaking, I was especially exited to watch the sunrise. The rooms were very clean and the water pressure was surprisingly great. I highly recommend to stay here, as it’s centrally located and close to a lot of subway lines. Special shout out to manager, Alex, who went out of his way to make my stay the best it could be. 10/10!!

Favorite hotel in NYC! Location is great, near transit and can walk nearly anywhere in Manhattan. Also love staying in an area that feels more like a neighborhood than say Times Square. We were on a high floor with downtown views which was fantastic. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was quite good. Didn’t try dinner but want to next time we’re here. Rooms are small but maximize storage and worked just fine for two. Only complaint/criticism is lack of coffee machine in the room. Have to go downstairs to the coffee bar (paid).

As a long-time Hilton supporter, I have mixed feelings about this hotel. One of the biggest perks of being a Diamond member is the late checkout. However, this hotel staff did not understand Hilton Honors' rewards. Typically, I asked for the late check out when I checked in, but due to some mixup with my rooms (I had two different reservations to cover my stay), I forgot to. When I did, two days before check out, they told me to come the morning of. When I went the morning of (7 am), I got the generic answer: we have too many people coming in for you to have a late checkout. They did follow up that they’ll hold my luggage, but I needed my daughter to stay later and do schoolwork in the room. Additionally, I had booked the rooms under my reward points. When a person does this, you should not be charged taxes and resort fees. The person checking me in told me otherwise that it only gave me a room, but I was responsible for their urban destination fee and taxes. I’m not a very aggressive person, so I let it be and called Hilton customer service, who then followed up and confirmed I was correct. I then had to go down and ask for refunds of these fees and the taxes on my first day. The location was great and convenient to the subways. My daughter loved having a bunk bed over the bed and the incredible views. I wish some of the other things were a little bit smoother so I could fall in love with this hotel.

I booked a room as a Mother’s Day gift to myself & I will absolutely be coming back. This hotel was beautiful, the rooms are decently sized, beautiful decor, & great location. What made my stay the best was the staff, especially Yasmin. She checked me in with so much warmth & made sure I was taken care of. Even after I was in my room she made sure everything was going well. She also saved my headphones because I left them downstairs by mistake. I met several gentlemen in the elevators who were also very friendly and kind. Thank you so much for this incredible stay & for making my Mother’s Day so special. (:

Very nice hotel. Good restaurant onsite with one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Room was a decent size given how compact New York is. Bathroom in the room was nice. Elevator situation was okay. For a 40 floor building, I thought it was quick but they got full sometimes! Staff was nice and helpful. They let us drop our bags for them to hold both before check in and even after checkout so we could explore NYC a little bit longer without having to lug our stuff. Also not ridiculously expensive staying in early fall. I doubt I’ll be back to NYC any time soon but I’ll keep this hotel in mind if I do!

I overall enjoyed my stay here. The price is relatively affordable at NYC so I was able to stay 7 days. The room is smaller than most hotels I’ve been to, but I guess it’s a New York thing. My favorite part is how good the service is. The room service folded my clothes and organized my makeup for me every single day. The front desk picks up the phone within minute and deliver item and service to the door really fast. I get messages check-in with me how I feel about the service during the stay. My only complaint is that our toilet broke a couple times, but they fixed it as soon as I called.

Feb 2024- This is my second time in NYC this year and chose this hotel again because of my previous experience! It has again, treated me with absolute professionalism! Room was great, food from bar was awesome and location sinthe best. It is definitely a great stay! Do not doubt because of the price, trust me, it lives up to a more expensive feel. Jan 2024- Was greeted with professionalism, a smile and fast check in. Can’t say enough good things about my stay. A comfortable bed, convenient location, friendly staff, cleanliness, and spacious rooms are key factors for a great hotel stay. The bar/ restaurant staff were also amazing, the food is really good. Arugula Salad, Burger, Tiramisu and made to order Chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Will definitely come back when in town.

We have stayed here for 6 nights. Overall it was a pleasant experience: service is excellent, the view of the city is fantastic, and the location is convenient. The ironing set and kettle were provided as per request. There are a few issues: the size of the room - it is tiny for two people for 1 week, maybe for a short trip/weekend with no luggage would be better, there is no wardrobe and daily cleaning only changing towels and taking out the garbage, but no wet cleaning (like shelves and floor), and as many other guests mentioned long waiting time for elevator and poor soundproof between rooms. For work, you can use the lobby on the second floor, which is well-equipped with many plugs.

I had the most wonderful time during my stay at this hotel. The room was a haven of comfort, offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the city. The staff's genuine hospitality and eagerness to assist made me feel right at home. The hotel's commitment to environmental sustainability was evident throughout, and it's truly commendable. The dining options were exceptional, and I was particularly impressed with the creativity of the chef's specials. The hotel's central location was a major advantage, allowing me to easily access the best that the city has to offer. Without a doubt, I'll be returning to this hotel on my next visit.

My family and I stayed for the final leg of our Spring Break trip at the brand new Motto in Chelsea. The location was perfect for all of our day trips around the city. As soon as you walk in, we noticed the gorgeous design and moody modern feel of it. The hotel staff was friendly and super helpful during our stay. The rooms are well designed and super quiet. We went down to the cozy bar area and hung out for a little while on the velvet couches. It's a great place to relax with friends or as a couple! In the morning, you can pick up a quick pastry or a coffee at the bar to start your day. We were sad to leave and look forward to staying there again!

Loved my stay!!! The location was very convenient. The staff was super friendly especially Aziz, Hector and Alex. Everyone was helpful. I was so happy that the hotel was brand new and modern. It felt like my home away from home. I was very excited that there was a restaurant on the ground floor as there was no need to leave the hotel for dinning options. The hotel was very clean and housekeeping was on top of every detail in the room. I will be back very soon and have already recommended this place to my friends and family.

I had an awesome stay here. This is a trendy hotel. There has been a lot of effort put into the interior design of the hotel. It really elevates the experience and would recommend this to anyone who values really well thought out spaces that are great to lounge, think and have a coffee/beer in. The room was small but that's expected of hotels in the city. The vastness of the view and the feeling that you're on top of the city makes up for it.

New hotel with modern updated facilities. I had a comfortable stay and would come back. The front desk staff who greeted me at 6 in the morning was wonderful. My main gripe would be that the elevators are programmed in a very strange way and take forever to come. I took the stairs down 11 floors one day cos the elevators kept skipping my floor or were too full. Often had to get in line at the lobby to get into an elevator as well. Room size was great for a solo traveler but might be challenging for a couple.

Motto in NYC is one of my favorite hotel I have stayed at so far. Everyone is so nice and welcoming there. The location is very convenient. It’s a nice walking distance from Time square and there is so many restaurants to chose from. I reserved a room with the view of the city. The view is beautiful to see through out the day. The room is a little small but the big screen TV makes up for it. It even has Netflix. You can hear the sirens & traffic from your room but it’s not bad. I also had breakfast at the restaurant very good. The service is outstanding everyone is so attentive. I didn’t like dinner at the restaurant it was a modern take on Italian food. Beside that I would recommend staying there.

We don't feel welcoming in this hotel. The room wasn't ready by 3pm. Waiting almost 1 hour in the lobby and nobody recall us that they said will call us once ready the room. Because the staff in this hotel is too busy to chat themselves. It's second day today and asked about coffee machine and one of staff asked in return "what?what?what?" Then she said we don't have it. And she asked another staff next her that she said they have. She was acting very annoyed and I was very embarrassed. I have to stay here 12 days more but I don't think i will ask anything again to the staff in this hotel. I don't want to feel bad to ruin my holiday.

New, clean, classy, well furnished, great staff, super convenient location at Flatiron, beautiful bathroom, lots of hooks (12 just at the entrance), tv controlled by your own phone, digital room key, $10 voucher for coffee, large shower with nice products and fixtures… But SMALL room (but very functional) and bathroom has no ventilation. I wonder how it will hold up over time. Definitely an hotel I would consider for my next stay in Manhattan.

This hotel is perfectly located to access all popular locations, sites and events in NYC. But my main reason for writing this review is to point out just how wonderful the staff has been. KUDOS to Jennifer, Leticia, Evan and Rolando for exceeding in customer service and care. They have made our trip truly enjoyable and interacting with them at the end of our day has been a complete joy. If you wish to have a delicious "old fashion", come visit Leticia, she makes a killer drink. And Jennifer, don't forget " Santos".

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the last 12 months. We stumbled upon it whilst looking for a fresh spot in Chelsea. Our first visit was so good we’ve been back here each time we’re in Manhattan. There are lots of choices in the area, however we pick this place each time. Rooms: great size, clean, comfy beds, they have everything you need and the views are spectacular, the price alone is worth it for the views. The facilities are also worth calling out, gym is small but well equipped, the lounge area is large and accommodating. There’s two places in this hotel where they excel though, the restaurant and the front desk. Breakfast is a must, the team that works weekends are amazing (shout out to Jamika who is always 100% attentive!) menu is diverse, food is quality, space is inviting. The check in process is stellar, everyone is happy to see you, interested in what you’re here for and how they can make your stay great. Yasmin on the front desk is a star, we have worked with her multiple times. This visit she checked us in, helped with a few questions and made sure our stay was great. Thanks to the whole team at this hotel - you’re doing a great job! See you again soon!

We loved our stay here!! From the helpful staff to the incredible atmosphere it was a fantastic hotel. They upgraded our room to a city view for our trip and our view was insane! The city view is definitely worth it when you go. They also have the cutest rooms and great amenities. We enjoyed the free waters and umbrellas to use.

Our stay at Motto Hilton was more than exceptional. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a modern flare. We were fortunate enough to have the option to create an ample suite through connecting rooms. The view from our suite was breathtaking and the location was more than convenient with shops and restaurants at walking distance. The train station is less than 2 blocks away making it very commutable. I would definitely recommend this great hotel to all my family and friends when visiting the big Apple.

We had a great stay at the Motto Hilton at Chelsea. Location is excellent, and in close proximity to sites, shopping and restaurants. We thought the staff was above-and-beyond friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are small (as expected for any city hotel) but cleverly designed to maximize the space. We stayed on a high floor and the most incredible view! We will definitely stay here again when next in NYC.

What a beautiful hotel in the heart of an amazing city. The room was cozy and neat. The bed was comfortable and the hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved our stay. You walk out the door and you are in the heart of the most vibrant part of the best city in the world. I can't say enough about our stay there.

The Landmark City View room is definitely worth it! The view is spectacular and not something like you’ve seen elsewhere. The staffs were so kind and welcoming. The location was easy to access to all major spots and the room is clean, quiet and great for my family stay.

Best hotel experience ever! I truly had such a wonderful time. We went with the city view and it did not disappoint. From check in to check out we had a simple and easy process. I also really appreciated that we could do an early check in and leave our bags and go out and about until our room was ready! We also received 2 free water bottles a day! I will absolutely be coming back to NYC in the future and I will make sure to always stay at this hotel. It was just overall such a great experience!

The venue itself is very good given the excellent location cleanliness and breathtaking views from rooms. Would definitely stay there again. Lounge is great too. The only small issue is the front desk which aren’t especially welcoming - I know NYC has an NYC attitude but there was something especially moody about everyone in their bespoke puffer jackets. This was a contrast with the bar staff who were friendly every morning and do an excellent coffee. Also the fire alarms going off on two separate nights. What’s that about??

  • 5/5 Shanna T. 1 year ago on Google
The staff was very helpful and approachable. The room was perfect for our group (can sleep 5 with 1.5 baths). There a very few places that offer multi room suites. Only wish there was a little more space to unpack if needed. Great location to metro and restaurants. The general ambience was lovely as well! Would highly recommend.

Great location, beautiful room, beautiful view. Most importantly fantastic staff. We enjoyed Happy Hour and a Thanksgiving Day Burger. The bar/wait staff were great. Ainsley was especially Helpful. The rooms are small (typical for NYC) but very well designed. Incredible views. Looking forward to a return visit.

From the moment we arrived I knew I made the right decision to book this hotel for our quick weekend trip. We arrived early with a lot of luggage. We asked if they could hold it until it was time to check in, not only did they hold it for us, they texted us as soon as our room was ready so we were able to check in early! When we came back they promptly gave us our keys AND took all of the luggage to our room. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I’ve never felt so welcomed by any other hotel. The room was on the small side as most in Manhattan are but it was laid out well so it felt like you had plenty of room for a couple. The landmark city view room has a wonderful view from Chelsea all the way to downtown. You can even see the Statue of Liberty in the distance! The hotel is modern and clean and smelled incredible, so refreshing and welcoming after encountering those unwanted odors throughout the city all day. We grabbed a burger at the restaurant downstairs which honestly wasn’t great but it didn’t change my opinion of our wonderful stay. It’s in a great location next to plenty of restaurants, bars, and a short walk to the subway. 10/10 would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Absolutely enjoyed the stay in the fairly newly built hotel. Atmosphere I lobby, bar and restaurant are great. Very stylish. Rooms are small, but I guess it's fairly normal in Manhattan. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning is quite noisy and goes on and off every few minutes. We could also hear the cleaner move constantly as the storage was next door. We stayed on the 40th floor with an amazing room. Appreciated the gym.
