😠 I give you all a very good tip! Do not get the idea to book this accommodation. The rooms are abnormally small, our bedspreads stank of Indian food, the mattresses have stains everywhere. They almost didn't want to give our deposit back. The hallway smells abnormal we had to hold our nose. No toilet... I give you all a very good tip! Do not get the idea to book this accommodation. The rooms are abnormally small, our bedspreads stank of Indian food, the mattresses have stains everywhere. They almost didn't want to give our deposit back. The hallway smells abnormal we had to hold our nose. No toilets in the room! For internet access you have to pay extra per day 5 dollars. I could go on and on. Do not book this hotel!

If you want your first day at New York be ruined, book your stay here. I had a reservation 4 days prior to my stay. However, when I got there by 11:20 PM, the concierge could not find any key for me. He called his boss 5 times and Noone picked up, so he said no room for you. Call Expedia for the problem. So, it was 1 AM midnight ( next day) I called Expedia and they got me a room while I was still in their lobby. At 1 AM, concierge came back and said the management told him to give me a random room. It was too late, so I left to new hotel. The next day, I received a text all capped from their management stating I provided a wrong info to Expedia while they had a room for me. Are you kidding me? My checking time was at 3 PM, you wanted to give me a room at 1 AM next day? Did you know I spent $400 for the room and you treated me like a trash? Instead of apologizing, you tell me I lied to Expedia? Please share your thought and experiences with everyone here.

DO NOT STAY HERE. SCAM ALERT. We booked a room here for two nights at $350 a night, which is incredibly expensive for what is effectively a poorly kept hostil but that isn't the scam. When we were leaving our room to check out, a housekeeping man came to the door. He had a cleaning cart, trash cans and a big set of room keys. He asked us to give him our key so we could skip going to the front desk to check out. We gave him our key and left. Soon after, the manager called us and claimed we didn't return the key. My friend and I both tried to talk to this person and explained what happened. The manager called us both liars and hung up on us after saying they would charge our card $120 for the key. We called back and argued about it, I asked that they check their security cameras and they claimed they did and didn't see anyone come to our door. They claim there is no cleaning man like that. Anyways, this is their scam to charge guests ridiculous amounts. Speaking of the key, they only gave us a single metal door key and would not provide an additional cooy. Incredibly inconvenient for two adults staying in a room. The front desk man was unfriendly and unwelcoming in general. The rooms are tiny. No bathroom in them and only a single toilet for the entire floor to share. Our sheets were stained and the towels were ragged. The "kitchenette " is a microwave and sink. Our bed was a rickety metal bunk bed which squeeked whenever you moved. Avoid this place. Do not stay here.

For anyone who booked here and didn't get their deposit back, please report this place to the better business bureau! Their website is bbb dot ORG and they specialize in fraud. Contact your credit card company too. Do not pay in for a room in cash. A credit card chargeback works wonders when things go wrong. Any hotel with a cash policy is sketchy.

This place is a dive. It was a hassle to find my reservation and they sent me to wrong room. The second room was a downgrade. They have a non-refund policy if you want to cancel the rest of your stay. I made mistake of giving key back before they told me no refund. When I tried to get key back, they told me I was out of luck. I contacted my credit card company to dispute charges. I called police to declare I was unlawfully evicted because I paid for 5 nights so I am filing a report to sue for my refund. I Do not recommend. Stay at the Y or a hostel.

Worst place to stay at. They only give you one roll of toilet paper, 4 towels, 4 blankets that feel and look like those kitchen rags and this is for 7 days for 6 people. So dirty and dusty, I ended up getting rashes and my kids and husband had really bad allergies. The customer service doesn't help either. So rude, they give you dirty looks everytime you walk in and not even a hello. Eliza was no help at all when we told her that we couldn't shower because there was only boiling hot water or ice cold water. This place doesn't even deserves one star.

I have to first start with the cliche saying that I never write reviews. I absolutely had to write a 5 star review for this hotel. I landed from a red eye and the original hotel I was supposed to stay at had guaranteed an early check in. Not only did they go back on their word, they were rude about it. I quickly googled hotels near me and everyone was booked/couldn’t offer early check in. I was on my last hope when an Angel answered at this hotel and said a room was available. I did have to pay in cash but the rate was incredibly reasonable especially given the circumstances. The room is spotless and the shared bathrooms are as well. I was most impressed. The receptionist at the time, Tracy, was so kind and accommodating. I’m beyond grateful for this place and will sing praises about it for a long time to come.

If you are looking for an extremely clean, reasonably priced (for New York), centrally located place with basic amenities to lay your head, this is it. The aesthetics were not great on the 8th floor unless you don't mind exposed pipes that you can touch running above you and the industrial grey paint in the common areas. Although I shared a bathroom with others, I did not encounter anyone when using it during my 3 night stay. The receptionist ordered a ride for me to the airport which was appreciated, but ask for the rate when booking.

Urging anyone thinking of booking to not go here. They refused to give back our deposit. Anytime we rang to enquire we were hung up on, gaslight and our questions were completely avoided. They stole my drivers license and refused to check the cameras to locate it (they took it during check in and never returned it). The woman running this place was a genuinely awful person. Rooms also have no windows. Wishing nothing but the worst for this hotel and the woman in charge!

DO NOT BOOK HERE!! I never usually write reviews but I feel that people need to be informed about this place. My friend booked a week long stay here for a NYC vacation. After reading other reviews online, she realized she had made a mistake. We called the hotel asking for a refund and were told that “this line is for emergencies only. Call back at 9am.” I called back the next day to be told that I will “receive a call back in two minutes.” 20 minutes later, I called back again and was forwarded to an automated voice messaging system. This hotel willing stole over one thousand dollars from my friend. From other reviews, it looks like they’ve stolen from other people too. If you want to save your money, don’t book at this location!! Go anywhere else.

They rob people. I didn’t even stay the night cause of how smelly and small the place was. The night was $100 and the deposit was $60. They said the next day they will return the deposit. They didn’t give me a receipt. I called and the woman Eliza hung up on me cause I caught on to her game. They didn’t want to return my deposit even though I didn’t receive the receipt. I told them to check the camera they said it takes 300 to look at the camera. They are a bunch of thieves and liars. If you go there always get a receipt and record everything

This hotel is a SCAM and is commiting FRAUD. They offer a very low room rate and then charge you way more than double for "Taxes and Property Fees". We rescinded their charges and are filing a complaint against them with The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection for the City of New York, The Department of State's Division of Consumer Protection, the Hotel Association of New York City, and the Better Business Bureau.

I booked online by a third party. Due to my plans changing coming from out of state I wasn’t able to make the trip, The 3rd party gave me my money back but this hotel wouldn’t waiver my cancellation fee which is 3 weeks prior to my booked date. The lady was rude & wanted to blame other party when they have an option. This hotel is a rip off & could careless about servicing the customers. I’m a customer if I decide not to stay there it’s my choice. Because it wasn’t at the last minute. I will never book there again & from the looks at the reviews I shouldn’t have considered it in the first place !!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would, they advertise this as a affordable price and add "taxes" to get more money, but that is not the bigger issue, we booked this to spend last weekend with my sister and we could not make it, so I told my sister to go and enjoy, upon arrival they refused to let her in because I was not with them. I provided her with all the info needed and authorized her stay over the phone and they still would not let her in, now they are refusing to refund the money. This business is dishonest, very rude and not helpful at all, stay clear.

The hotel manager will gaslight you into thinking it's normal to wait 7 to 10 business days to get back your (required) $120 cash deposit. Poor communication and little to no explanation for why these policies are in place. Check-out is very early, at 10 am. High fees for late check-out. Have to pay $5 per day for wifi. I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom for two days and the room smelled pretty bad. No natural light whatsoever, despite there being windows in the room. They have a policy that they do not give back deposits on weekends, which seemed odd but I went along with it. I returned on Monday in-person to get my deposit back, since I don't live in NYC and it should have been clear by that time that there were no damages to the room I had stayed in. I was made to wait 45 minutes to speak to the manager, whose office was only one floor below. I then was told by the receptionist to call the number on my reservation, because apparently it's too much to ask to talk to the manager face-to-face when she's in the same building. I was denied my deposit by the manager. I called again and asked how I'm to get my money back. Finally, I was made to write down my mailing address and venmo username by the lady at the front desk. This whole interaction was bizarre. Extremely poor customer service. Pretty clear all they cre about is getting the most money out of their guests with high service fees ($110) and deposits that may or may not ever be given back.

So I was here for 2 days just now and let me tell you that the experience is not that enjoyable. Unless you’re planning to have a NY trip on an incredible tight budget or for non entertainment purposes at all I won’t recommend this place. My friend booked a room for 3 people and they gave us a room with a bed that only 2 people can fit in. When we checked out early in the morning at 4 AM no one was manning the reception table with a paper taped on the chair saying they will be back. We got lucky that an employee came in and checked us out

This location is on Wall Street, not far from Broadway. Subway station was very close. One block away from the World Trade Center area. Room was smaller than we’re used to, but honestly, we’re not in New York for the hotel. The shower was stiff and difficult to going. Mold on the shower fixtures was a bit of a turn-off, the rest was safe and clean, that’s all that mattered. The staff were great and never a problem when travelling in New York City.

SCAM ALERT Do not book. This is marketed as low price but will charge an additional $200+ in "taxes and fees". This place does not offer refunds. You can get much better hotels in the area for the same price. It's a strategy to get people in with low prices, and charging them extra through hidden fees.

SCAM ALERT This place is a scam. Common bathrooms covered in vomit and not kept clean. Saw multiple rats during my stay and they REFUSE to return my deposit. If you pay a deposit, they will not return it. DO NOT BOOK HERE! They prey on international travelers and false advertise low rates.

After I read the reviews, I was expecting something a lot worse than it actually was. It’s a very nice location as it’s close to everything, it was one of the cheapest deals in NYC and it’s pretty clean too. Yes, the bathrooms are shared, but you get what you’ve payed for. I would recommend to add some shelves and hooks in the shower (we were living on the 5th floor and didn’t have them in our showers). Also our plans changed and we had to leave one night earlier, so it would be nice if you could actually change your reservation. I know it was stated when we were booking the hotel that we can’t change the reservation so I have no complaints about that.

First off, the hotel was outdated, gross, and the staff was extremely unprofessional. The man working at the desk seemed to have no idea how to run the hotel and figure out how to check people in. He couldn’t even read my receipt clearly stating the room i booked here. Not only that, we paid a $100 security deposit we were promised and supposedly given back. But never got out $100 back since “we didn’t have a receipt” even though we clearly paid the $100 and had a record of it. This hotel prays on travelers and tourists to scam them out of their money. Don’t ever stay here!!! This hotel is a clear example of how people SHOULDNT RUN THEIR BUSINESSES.

They will not give you your security deposit and they will also be extremely rude. This place was disgusting and there was a roach in my bed. The people are creepy and the front desk guy cat called me at night. Not a good environment for families or anyone in general. The bathrooms are filthy and communal, and don’t forget they’re thieves. They will steal your money just like they stole mine and promise to give it back when they actually won’t. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed at and I wouldn’t even recommend this hotel to my arch nemesis.

This is NOT a hotel. This is a weird, AirBnB, room-share system. I never got my security deposit back, and the bathrooms are shared. For the amount of money we ended up spending we could have had a MUCH nicer experience, where we felt safe, and didn't have to leave our room in the middle of the night just to use the bathroom.

It is a straight up SCAM. They emailed me and said they will cancel my reservation and refund me because of a mistake on Expedia. Then I booked another hotel but never received my refund from this place.

Loved staying here! There were, however, multiple issues. Roaches!!! In the room we were staying in there were roaches every night, absolutely disgusting. The view out of the room was very good we could see down the entire block. It was very noisy as well, the general city sounds could be heard clearly from our location. one of the stove tops did not work. Great location for the price.

Rooms were clean and very economical. When I'm in NYC I'm there to see the sights & plays and the 31st Street Broadway Hotel is ideally located. The hotel was surprisingly quiet and the air conditioning was controllable and more than adequate.

I never write reviews, but all I have to say is DO NOT GO HERE! At first I booked a room here because it’s the cheapest thing I could find. Then after some time I noticed that there were alot of negative reviews recently so I felt unsafe and wanted to cancel and get a refund. The hotel staff we talked to were completely unprofessional and kept putting us on hold and hanging up.

Had to pay $120 deposit; they let me pay with my credit card. Had to pay an $11 tax in cash. Room maybe 9x8 feet. Double bed mattress on a simple metal frame. The mattress in decent condition, the sheets were fresh and recently laundered. Unfortunately the one blanket had a bunch of bad smells on it (mildew, coffee, dust) and I couldn’t bring myself to use it, so I didn’t run the AC at night and I slept in my clothes. The bed mattress sort of tilts to one side, but I just slept on it diagonally. Closet had sliding full-size mirror door. Mini fridge, 2-burner electric stove top, tiny microwave above the stove top. Very deep sink and running hot & cold water so I could brush my teeth and put my contacts on in the room, easier than going down the hall to the bathroom, which is where I had to go to shower and relieve myself. Folding table and two folding square stools. TV turned on but had an error message; basically unusable. Several electrical outlets. Tiny air conditioner in the window, worked. Window opens, but no screen. Shower stalls down the hall are quite small and there is no place to hang up clothing or towels. water comes directly from the center of the ceiling so your stuff is going to get wet. Awkward, privacy issues. I never figured out the Wi-Fi. They have luggage storage, $7/day. I might stay there again, but only because Manhattan is freaking expensive. The pod hotels can be got for around the same price and they are far superior. I would probably bring a shower caddy and or my own blanket if I did stay there again though.

Scam! Stay away from them. They showed the price very low on website and after paying it will show 5 times more the price. They do this all the time and not afraid of getting caught because they blame the system and get away with this. How come the new york commissioner let this happen? To everyone this is happened to, file a complaint to new york consumer and protection office they have a website where you can easily file a claim Also please file you claim with better business beaureau, federal trade corporation “FTC”

Honestly, it was not as bad as most of the reviews indicate. The room was clean, tidy, had a small kitchen and beds were reasonably comfortable. There is one bathroom per floor which is not a lot but it was clean and close to the room. Would recommend to a friend.

Thieves! They say they give you back the deposit and they never do it! They even blocked me so I wouldn't call anymore! Saying that they would return it to me in 7 days! The room is horrible, super dirty, shared bathrooms are super dirty!

Hello, I never comment but this time it is necessary because this hotel is a scam. Many charges are added to those of the rental and only appear once the final bill is made. Wifi is not free, the rooms have a strange smell and the shower doors on each floor open directly onto the urinal next to the toilets. There are no hooks to hang your things. You're charged a very high deposit (your account is debited) and its repayment time is unclear. Also, the staff are not very accommodating or friendly. To be avoided despite an interesting location. There are better places right next door for similar prices when you add taxes.
