Same experiences as Michale and William!!!! I went in for an appointment, and for the first time was a good experience, and got the prescription I needed! However, things turn downhill after a week. I have side effects from the medicine, called the free aftercare service. They told me they have no idea and asked me to visit their facility again on the same day. When I got there, I was clear about my concern regarding the side effect, they asked me to see a doctor again. The doctor saw me for one min and told me he has no idea. And they charged me $210 for the same answer I got over the phone! It’s a scam, it wasn’t even a visit. They should provide a free consultation about the side effect caused by their prescription. And if they can not solve my problem why lied about it and asked me to visit again? If they are going to give me the same answer as on the phone! Such a scam and no one ever answers the phone from their billing department. They try to make it difficult so you can give up!! Stay away from City MD!!! Try some other urgent care!!

Similar experience to Michael below. The nurse practitioner saw me for a few minutes and concluded that she could not treat me. She suggested that I go to a different doctor. I was charged City MD's standard/blanket rate for this visit. The bill was far far greater than the subsequent specialist visit

I left a review 4 years ago and wanted to leave a new one. Just left and had an amazing experience AGAIN. I live im between 2 urgent cares. This being one of them and i forgot how wonderful. Clean, professional, easy, and kind staff. Dr. Richard Tan and his Assistant Alyssa gave me so much relief by simply listening and giving prompt action. I have a list of ailments but while waiting for my pharmacy to fill order...Dr. Tan was able to give me my 1st dose right there in office. 4 years ago i did not have a service dog but now i do. No one treated me any difference or gave me any hassle. The other Urgent care texted me to give a rating and i gave a 4 out of 10. 🙈 so many reasons. So that shows you the difference. These guys are 5 out of 5 or 10 out of 10! 🥳 TY! 4 years ago: Loved my experience....would recommend to anyone. Check in was a breeze. Minimal paperwork. Minimal wait time. Check in is technologically advanced. Machine scans your id and insurance card. No risk of staff losing it or misplacing it. Only paperwork is in the end when you sign your copay and get receipt. I went in with an ailment, walked out cured. (My ear). Physician Stephanie Santana was amazing kind, gentle, thorough, cautious and patient. Not just with me but with her assistant Valerie who was also all the same things. Great teamwork. The care and staff here are awesome. Even get cool freebies like working pens, pack of tissues and hand sanitizer. Lol

Terrible experience. They didn't do all the tests they should have, mislabeled the container causing the lab to dispose of it (leading me to never get results) and then told me I'd need to pay full price in order to come back to do all the testing they should have done in the first place. The doctor was very nice. Some of the after care workers (especially the doctor) were totally unsympathetic and rude.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. Absolutely horrible place to get a covid test. I just needed a rapid covid test and the whole process took 2 hours, unbelievable. They make you go into an examination room and talk to you about your weight and checking your vitals and all kinds of unnecessary things so they can bill your insurance more, when all I wanted was my covid rapid test. And now my insurance is billing me $300 for the rapid test. Why is a rapid test $300? Because they did so much extraneous work that I never asked for. This is our healthcare system. It's all bloated billing and it's done through the insurance companies so normal people can't fight it or even know what they're being billed for.

Your doctors there are incompetent. They didn’t want stitch me up because the doctor said there was an artery in the way. Went to ER and they stitched it up and the doctor said there was no artery in the way. Nice way to bill for evaluation and do nothing.

I went in today with a cut that would not stop bleeding. The wait time was minimal (maybe 15 mins). I was taken to an observation room by Denise and she and Dr. Chen took great care of me in terms of making me feel comfortable and running the treatment options by me. The experience was very pleasant and they mitigated a stressful situation.

I had a great experience with CityMD this week. I went in for a covid test and as it was my first time I wasn't sure what to expect. They were so professional and attentive and I was so happy with the service and also that a doctor did the actual test and was friendly and reassuring. I felt completely safe with their Covid cleaning protocols and how comfortable they made it while I waited. Update: I went back this week January 2023 after not having needed care for several months and I am so pleased to have another great experience with them. So professional and helpful and really listened to my concerns even when I was overly dramatic but my symptoms. They calmly listened and the doctor reassured me of what was wrong and gave me great options for treating it. I felt comfortable and confident all would be well when I left.

The PA was kind and thorough. Front desk person was rude and insensitive to the state I was in. the doctor also could have been kinder: She basically dismissed the severity of what I was experiencing and said “well you made it here, and you look healthy” even when I tried to tell her something felt very wrong. I also overheard admin staff joking about a patient. Healthcare begins with caring and I’m sorry to say the staff here didn’t quite put the care in healthcare. Wouldn’t go here again and would advise against it

The employees here are patient and kind, from reception to the medical staff. When I tested positive for COVID yesterday they prescribed a new medicine and offered further support if I needed it. The doctor’s name was Dr. Chen and everyone who dealt with me was great, there was an assistant who did the testing who was very good as well. I know they must do endless amounts of these tests, but they handle each experience with respect for the patient, with professionalism and care. Great and especially impressive for a walk in clinic.

Horrible urgent care, wait time is horrible and the doctor(s) can never answer a question, all they tell me was to go to the ER.

CityMD on 2nd Ave and 50th St came to my rescue over a holiday weekend when my doctor was away and my pharmacy was closed. I went in with a very swollen face from some new, unknown allergy- very scary! I saw the doctor after a short wait. He was very attentive, kind and concerned, and gave me steroids and a prescription for an epipen. The next day I got a followup phone call, with referrals for an allergist and assistance in making an appointment. My own doctor couldn’t have done more. I recommend CityMD highly!

I received expert care at CityMD on East 50th Street. I was seen almost immediately, and the doctor and team were very responsive to my situation. They were totally professional, caring and thorough. I was treated extremely well. And the facility is immaculate. Excellent on all counts. I would highly recommend!

This was an excellent experience all around. The check-in process was done before I walked in the door, receptionist was friendly, and the doctor was great. We had a thoughtful and realistic discussion about my options and at the end we made what seemed like the best choice. In an era of doctors who are looking to get you in and out of their office as fast as possible, it was nice to have an un-rushed, real conversation with this doc.

Friendly and helpful staff but there was no x-ray tech on site and I had to travel to two of their other locations on 3rd Avenue. The doctor was kind and caring but he misdiagnosed my problem and subjected me to a very painful and unnecessary procedure. It was a nightmare of a situation for me.

Richard Tan MD, might have whatever issues with black neurodivergent women who knows but I an unsuspecting patient simply walking in for a work physical was instead accosted by his incompetence and biases. Go to an intersectionality seminar you plebian. Anyway. My BP was high. It always is. I rarely am listened to, feeling safe or comfortable. I suffer greatly from hypervigilance. I also tend to give worse readings if practitioners continue to test my BP. It's a sensory issue and I am neurodivergent. The cuff tightening on my arm is a visceral sensation I've had to deal with since my childhood. Instead of listening to me he told me to go to the ER. I have a lot of medical tied trauma and have often listened to this advice in the past only to find out a "professional" blows things out of proportion in order to scare me into care. New Flash, if I'm aware of my medical highs and lows, I'm already active in my own care. He threatened not to sign off on my medical clearance if I didn't. I went to Mount Sinai, their ER was less stressful though I am mid anxiety attack at this point. The attending doctors talk to me, "Yeah your blood pressure is high. How do you feel?" "Fine. I was fine at least. Now I feel really upset." "Yeah I can tell. We don't treat numbers though." LET ME REITERATE SHE TOLD ME THEY DONT TREAT NUMBERS. I got home late after being discharged completely forgetting about why I needed cityMD in the first place, my med clearance for work. So I go back after a few days of avoiding. They tell me actually still can't you took too long to come back, wow. Sounds like they should have emphasized that. Whatever. Have to push back going back to work much to my superior's dismay. I return friday the 22nd to finally get my medical clearance. I don't know if they just don't do it often but there was supposed to be documents to fill out. Whatever. I send them what I actually needed to be filled out. I haven't been back to work for two weeks at this point. School has already started. I'm not a gym teacher so my blood pressure doesn't really factor in like... anything I do lol. The issue being this was taking forever. Instead of being empathetic with me, like does he not realize this? I need this to WORK. He says "actually I don't feel comfortable doing the physical clearance but I'll do the other page." Oh wow. Thank you so much RICHARD. NOW I STILL CAN'T GO TO WORK :) It's almost like, you should lead with that kind of thing. I don't WANT to go to CITYMD for this buddy. I HAVE to. For my job. If I could go to a doctor who knew me, don't you think I would've done that? No, you probably think I'm like, mentally deficient or something. Obviously. Very great doctor. Very human. If you're a BIPOC fem presenting individual I totally recommend this guy if you want unnecessary stress which incidentally raises BP, salt shoved into your medical trauma wounds and your therapist to get an earful and emergency check ins. Richard is the guy! Thanks Rich.

I had an excellent experience visiting Dr. Chen at CityMd today. I came in seeking guidance on how to treat a persistent cough and I got a super thorough exam including multiple X-rays. The doctor also prescribed a number of different potential remedies. I feel that the overall thoroughness and level of service was much better than what I received at other providers. Would definitely recommend.

Unable to receive PCR test results for several days, resulting in a delay of urgently needed care. I have been coming here for COVID tests for years but recently they changed their medical records system and were unable to publish my PCR test results to my medical portal WITHOUT NOTICE. Calling “After Care” resulted in further headache and getting put on hold for 55 minutes. Never coming back here for a PCR test.

I have a nose and chest cold that got worse since it was effecting my breathing. The doctor said I was having an asthma attack and gave me meds with a machine and a prescription to dry up the fluid in the chest. He was thorough and caring. I recommend going to this clinic when you can't see your provider and don't want to go to the emergency room. It saved me from panicking.

I visited the center two days ago. Where I suffered from severe fatigue, intestinal distress and other symptoms. The medical team ran several quick tests, and they were negative. Therefore, an additional analysis took several days to know the result. The method of examination was thorough. I was given time to explain all my symptoms and his medical history. Also the reception staff were smiling and helpful in a way that put patients at ease.

I checked in Sunday April 2nd around 9.15 am. While the nurse , doctor were reallly nice and available to answer my questions, the lady at the front desk that checked me in first not so much. She was impatient and annoyed when I asked few more questions to make sure the servcis I was getting was covered by my insurance. However the manager came in after and asked me if I needed any help.

My name is Tina Rich. Last night I went to the city MD on 50th and 2nd Ave. Dr. Sarah Santana for the first time, and it was an absolute pleasure! She was extremely welcoming and made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire appointment. Her professionalism and expertise were evident from start to finish, and she showed genuine concern for my well-being. Dr. Santana was thorough in her examination and explained everything in detail, making sure that I understood the diagnosis and the treatment plan. She took the time to answer all of my questions, and I left the visit feeling much less anxious knowing that I am in good hands. The clinic was impeccably clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall, my experience with Dr. Santana and her team was outstanding, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking excellent medical care. Thank you, Dr. Santana, for your exceptional service! Make sure you go asking for Dr Santana!!

I think they are paying for positive reviews because I lived by this place for 2 years and frequented it… it truly is mediocre at best. Receptionists can be rude, and doctors are quick to push an rx

I arrived an hour ago and still haven’t seen the doctor despite the waiting room being empty. They call your name then make you sit in a room for your entire wait time. Clearly they are understaffed but they should be upfront when people check in about the wait time and just let them know. They told me 30 min ago the doctor had one more patient before me and I’m still sitting here, now going to be late for another engagement.

I had a great experience from beginning to end. Sign in process was fairly easy. I didn’t wait long before I was called and placed into a room. Ruyia(scribe) was polite, attentive and thorough. She asked all the right questions when obtaining my chief complaint(s) and updating my information. PA Pashayan was absolutely amazing, I mean truly! He sat with me and had an actual conversation. He was charismatic, respectful and attentive all of which made my experience pleasant. I came in with pain but left feeling better because I felt heard and cared for.
