The evening started out great with friendly hostesses . Prior to our dinner at The Grid we had a tour of the Great Jones Distillery with Drew that was fun and informative. The tour took longer than expected and had to make it to dinner before we missed dinner. We met our daughter and her boyfriend who were already seated and ordered appetizers. We hurried and ordered. Appetizers never arrived. Server never took our drink order and some of the food ordered was cooked to the wrong temperature and had wrong topping. The evening was saved by Christian the manager and the food servers and chefs who corrected errors and delivered drinks. Our meal cost was covered. We will return to give it another shot as the food we did receive that was correct and the drinks once arrived were good. The bad experience was due to one bad waiter and does not represent the others working there.

Not a bad first visit here. The Burger is great. The whiskey flight will put hair on your chest but their unique cocktails are promising. I would say that their take on an old fashion is on the sweet side but they also carry a classics menu and the vesper I had from there was well made. Worth a visit.

We went for the tour and the tasting. The tour was good, we learn lots of the stories of bourbon and the guide was nice. The place is amazing! The place is own by one of Jose Cuervo son’s. If you like whiskey come to the speakeasy and order the whiskey samples. I loved the rye bourbon.then we went for some drinks at the speakeasy on the second floor. Try the smoked old fashioned. Enjoy

I planned a Girlcation with my best foodie buddy. She is an exquisite fan of bourbon, whiskey, rye, and scotch. She had not heard of Great Jones Distiling. Our trip happened to time with NYC Summer Restaurant Week 2023. The Grid offers a complimentary Whiskey flight with the Restaurant Week Menu but all diners need to order from that menu. The price point is an incredible deal at $45 per person. We both ordered the same meal. We were both happy with the generous serving of Burrata over Pesto with a Charred Tomato. There are two crisp servings of toast. We were both a bit underwhelmed with the fish option for Restaurant Week Diner. I had to ask for pepper and salt which I usually never do in a restaurant for as much as I dine out. The table next to us ordered the fish and steak and frites. I never order steak and frites as I'm not into fries unless they have a truffle oil or parmesan. I had wished I had ordered the steak and frites. The diner next to us also wished he ordered the steak and frites and his date ended up sharing her meal. The fish lacks any carbohydrates. I ordered the brioche spent grains rolls from the regular dining menu which is a must! Dessert I opted for the sorbets. And my dining companion had the sticky toffee carrot cake with cream cheese ice cream. You want to order the sticky toffee! It's a huge serving compared to the sorbet. My friend ended up sharing about half of her dessert with me and I was finally full. She enjoyed the flight. And also ordered 3 cocktails and took a bottle home. This is a beautiful restaurant with an awesome lit map of NYC's Speakeasies. We missed the incredible cocktail hour which we had hoped to do. This restaurant is ADA compliant and has an elevator. The restroom is a unisex room with individual stalls that have floor to ceiling doors for privacy. Highly recommend and next time we'll order off the regular menu. Our server was fantastic.

We enjoyed the Great Jones Distilling Co. a lot. Two of our group did the tour, and two stayed at the bar on the second floor the entire time. The tour was informative and (thankfully) moved along. The tasting is what everyone was there for, and our guide took his time there, which was great. The two people who stayed at the bar, enjoyed their time. They told us the atmosphere was enjoyable, even though the space got pretty crowded. They also reported the food was good. Overall, this was a fun afternoon/early evening experience.

Dinner at the Grid restaurant at Great Jones Distillery was just spectacular. The service from our waitress and bartender was thoughtful, cordial and informative. What a great crew they are. They are quite creative in how they infuse their alcohol into their cooking. All items in our meals were great including the Cornish hen, steak and salmon. The appetizers of the bacon and oysters were scrumptious. The cocktails were creative takes on traditional drinks as well as some unique creations. Their bourbon is smooth and the rye goes well in their Manhattan. Give this place a try. They are doing a great job after being open for only 6 weeks. I can’t wait until their speakeasy opens.

Welcome to Manhattan‘s first legal distillery since Prohibition. Came here on a not-so-busy Sunday afternoon and was lucky enough to get a private tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable in all things whisky, everything about the building, and of course the company. It was a great time and capped it all off with a couple very delicious cocktails in the bar on the second floor. The whiskeys taste great and I highly recommend getting the smoky Old Fashioned. You won’t regret it.

Great flavored food! The lamb was so tender and well as the ribs I highly recommend them. Drinks were delicious. And my Burger was perfect. The salmon size is rather small and doesn't come with anything other then cucumbers so I recommend getting a side of Brussel sprouts they were delicious as well. Or maybe they can be included with the Salmon. All in all we really enjoyed our meal. The tour itself was great our guide was amazing super friendly and knowledgeable!

My friend and I spent two hours eating and trying out their different cocktails at the bar on the 2nd floor. We were one of only two occupied tables. 2-4pm weekdays seems like a good time to visit. It quickly filled up around 4pm. The food (burger and Cesar salad) was great, so were the different cocktails we tried. Very helpful and accommodating bar keeper. Great place; definitely worth a visit.

Having gone once before for cocktails, I returned for the distillery tour and then dinner. All of this is so good and such an unexpected treat in the middle of Manhattan. As a bonus, it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. Get the smoked old fashioned to go with it.

I stumbled upon Great Jones Distillery some time late last year . It is the perfect place to celebrate an intimate or group dinner, have drinks at the bar , experience jazz night , enjoy brunch, take a tour to see their amazing distillery and visit the speak easy . The food is always made with love not to mention they have an open kitchen to see the chefs at work. I think it adds a nice touch. Service is always great ! Shout out bartender Jack and Chef Lulu. I loved the place so much that I make it my business to come here often if not once a month once every two months only because I don’t live in NY. Now ! Although I love this place I would say a few minor changes won’t hurt . There is a young lady that greets you at the front counter ( a brown skin female ) as soon as you walk in and arrive to the front desk . She could be a lot more welcoming to new and curious customers that walk in and also to the familiar faces that already enjoy coming there. A smile , welcoming body language and a warm tone of voice makes all the difference . The music selection is cool in the bar upstairs however the music in the main dining area on the main floor could use a more variety of music or more of an upbeat tone to accommodate different backgrounds of customers that come to experience Great Jones . Finally your whiskey is top tier It speaks for itself !!! Love love love it here at Great Jones ! Sept 2, 2023 We are here again at one of our favorite restaurants . This time we came to celebrate one of our close friends birthday and enjoy the speakeasy by Basquiat . When we arrived we saw our favorite bartenders Jack , Mia and now Spencer ! The manager or the bar Collin also thanked us for coming and being regulars at Great Jones . After the speak easy we went upstairs on the main floor to enjoy dinner and cake to celebrate our friend on her birthday . Chef Lulu came over to greet us, thank us for returning as wish our friend a happy birthday . The night was amazing until we noticed to floor manager Monica (the dark skin lady mentioned above ) followed us from the speak easy to the main floor. She grilled us thee entire time. By this time it’s late night, there was only one other party besides us whom was seated on the opposite side of the resturant at a distance of course and after we paid the bill, we noticed she charged us for the complimentary birthday cake. Not only did she make us feel uncomfortable but we no longer feel welcomed at a place we once enjoyed. As Monica is a manger I’m sure she read my review that I posted prior . Today would have been the perfect opportunity for her to make things right by simply speaking us and apologize for her behavior even if it wasn’t intentional . Instead she proved me right about her unwelcoming behavior and I believe she is a poor representation to the fairly new Resturant Great Jones Distillery .

Great place for brunch. Cool jazz fuels a mellow weekend mood while tasty food fills your hunger. Bourbon is deep and mellow befitting the name of the place. Monkey bread comes hot and crusty with airy light insides and lots of whipped butter. Sticky toffee pudding is not a winner, not very sweet and full of nuts. Come here trounce away the weekend with good food and friends.

Wow this place was incredible! We went for my wife’s birthday and where wined and dined by the staff. The food was incredible. Randi the sous chef treated us with a special dish which was a wonderful surprise and Tanner was an incredible waiter. We had the 4 whiskey flight. Which was so delicious and fun to try their whiskeys. Our appetizers and dinner where amazing. Short ribs where divine and so good. All in all so pleased we went here for a birthday celebration. We were treated with such incredible service and food was perfect. We have no complaints and highly recommend you to go. We went on a Thursday evening and it was quiet and mellow night. Such a treat! We will be back again and suggest others to go! What a gem!

We visited this place for the Great Jones Distilling cocktail tour. The atmosphere was amazing, and their tour was interesting. They’ve found an opening underground tunnel and explained on the usage of the tunnel, along with the machine that they use to create the Great Jones whiskey. Although I did not get a chance to experience their cocktail, but coming back for more. They also have a speakeasy on the basement level, but currently it is only open for private events at the moment.

Really unexpectedly good experience! Perfect food, we had burrata, oysters, aged New York strip steak and lamb. Everything was great. Desserts were ok, we have tried baked Alaska and warm chocolate cookie. Too sweet for my taste. Really nice cocktails, pretty fast and friendly service. Apple jack bourbon was awesome too! Definitely recommend.

I absolutely love this place!!! We did the tour and our tour guide was Bobby! I absolutely love Bobby. BoBby was very knowledgeable, funny, and an amazing tour guide. I didn't think I was a fan of bourbon/whiskey until the taste. The food was great. It was an amazing experience.

I stopped in as I had been gifted a bottle of their bourbon, and really enjoyed it. I ended up staying for dinner, and I’m really glad I did. The dinner was fantastic and the staff were polite and welcoming.

Casual Saturday lunch. Croque madame was good but the burger was extremely dry. French fries are soft and thick which I personally liked but you may not like it if you like traditional crispy fries. Atmosphere was perfect with live music. Cocktails tasted great you can definitely taste the bourbon - I would’ve tried more if my New Year’s resolution wasn’t to stop drinking haha.

10/10 establishment! Their whiskey is absolutely incredible, highly recommend ordering their tasting set to really experience all their flavor profiles they offer within their bourbons and ryes. Their food was equally just as delicious! Do yourself a favor and order their applewood smoked old fashioned and braised short ribs. Every bite and sip transported me to the happiest place! Couldn’t recommend it more and cannot wait to return!

Definitely check out Great Jones, do the tour & diner directly after. Hopefully you get Drew as a guide. He was very knowledgeable & had a great sense of humor. I would definitely go back

This meal was excellent! I had the burger and my husband had the seared tuna but the real stars were the sides! The Mac & cheese, and the Brussels sprouts w/ strawberry simmer sauce (or maybe it was glaze?) we’re both to die for. Oh and don’t even get me started on the desserts! Definitely save room for the PB&Zhariff sundae… you won’t regret it. If you can, when you reserve your table, sit at the chef’s counter! It’s fun to watch them prepare and plate all the food.

Zeppa made it amazing. She was fun, engaging and if she could be at every tour I visit, I’d choose her. She helped us taste the drinks the right way. I’ll be choosing your Rye every time. We reserved seats for dinner after the tour. The food was the right serving amount and tasted delicious. I’d only suggest a complimentary basket of some type of bite to start if you going to price the food that way. We slept like babies last night. Thank you Great Jones

The service and food were amazing. The servers and waitress were very attentive. The food was amazing. We had the chopped salad which was very good, the truffle pasta, and burger. The salad came out first and then the pasta and burger came out together. We ate the pasta first and then had the burger, the burger was still very hot after sitting for about 10 min or so while we ate the pasta (we split all three dishes) so that was a big plus for me because I like my food hot. The service was amazing, they made sure to top off our waters when our cups were low and made sure we were good and didn’t need anything. I am not one to write reviews but this place deserved it. I made a note that it was my friend’s birthday when I placed the reservation and they brought out a little ice-cream cake with sprinkles and a candle for us to share after dinner, it was cute. We did the whiskey tour after dinner and our tour guide Bobby was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, he answered all questions everyone in the group had and he was funny and entertaining. I give the restaurant and tour a 10/10.
