A decent sized record shop with a selection of vinyls that have been carefully curated. You can tell that a lot of thought was put behind selecting which records to include in Rough Trade's inventory. In addition, the shop's aesthetic is 👌🔥! The floor itself is fun to check out as you walk around the store, just don't bump into anyone 😁. Oh and there's also a fun photo booth that you can use for only $5. Pro-tip: My favorite section is the "Essentials" area. Carefully selected records that may or may not be familiar to some BUT worth checking out.

Cool record shop in Rockefeller Plaza with an entrance off 6th Ave. Pleasant atmosphere with normal prices and a well-curated but large selection of merch, records, shirts, record players and accessories, posters, cassettes, CD’s, and more. It isn’t as expansive as their old Brooklyn store but that’s not the worst thing, it was a more manageable shopping experience without lacking for plenty of choices for all types of music lovers. The store was popular but not crowded and I’m glad to see they’re still holding it down with this new iteration of the classic record store.

Definitely one of the best record shops I have ever been to. Wild selection of vinyls in every genre with just about every artist plus if they dont have what you’re looking for, they can get it online for you. Friendly and helpful staff.

Staff were all kind people. I was super happy they host meet and greets with artists and had the chance to meet Aurora here. Of all of the places I visited in Manhattan this record store is the place ill remember most.

Came here to get Rough Trade Exlusive record, got 10% off for email subscription but couldn't find anything else. Records are overpriced, modest selection of used records. Store looks cool.

Vinyl is still a limited market and the selection here is equally limited. There are some good selections, but this isn't a big location and they seemed biased towards certain genres as you can clearly find more of some than others. Prices are also a bit higher due to this location. I was there solely for the Baroness in-store performance and they really packed us in. Staff were friendly and the band was amazing.

Vinyl paradise. For me at least, it was nice seeing different things than the usual commercial locations. Copped Earl Sweatshirt's Sick album. Vibe is chill and have merch and other goodies like cassette tape players. A lot of different genres.

Really nice store, good selection. VERY knowledgeable and helpful staff. All genres covered. Very fair prices for the location. Definitely will return next time in town.

Rough Trade is an oasis in midtown Manhattan for the music lover. An impressive selection of new releases is augmented by a niche batch of used albums, a selection of CDs, books, shirts, and posters. While the store is much smaller than their previous location, their presence in the life of the city may be larger, including performance/signing events (like the picture of Mutual Benefit), concerts at the iconic Rainbow Room, and IndiePlaza, their free music festival put on in collaboration with Rockefeller Center. Long may they reign!

I loved the Brooklyn store- huge space, free ping pong, large concert space, beverages, reading area. This shop in Manhattan has none of this. The rent must be through the roof , being at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. It's a cute store, though with a helpful staff.

Very nice record store, with a good selection of vinyls sell for a standard market price, except for some exclusive releases that they have. They also have cds, dvds, book, shirts and some audio gear. For me it's kind of a miniature Amoeba, but with a bigger stage and smaller store. They also have Ping Pong tables, which is pretty cool.

I go here very often and most of the times the staff is very rude. They seem very annoyed and barley help people. I personally hate how they organize their records. A lot of their stuff is overpriced. They do have good records if you like modern artists but their classic rock section isn’t the best and has very basic artists

Visiting vinyl shops while traveling is one of my favorite things ... neck & neck with coffee shops and breweries. I stumbled upon Rough Trade trying to get out of the cold on a January evening while touring Rockefeller Center. What a find! It had a bright new, almost Urban Outfitters kind of feel ... compared to the normal grungy old blues joint feeling of most record stores (which I do love BTW). There was a great selection of new, rereleased, and old albums, but what really caught me was the amazing selection of music-based reads. The staff were amazing and super helpful ... especially for someone just trying to warm up. Totally cool and hip. 5 ⭐; would visit again ... and you should too.

They have a lot of different records, you probably can found something that you like it! They also sell some collectibles and another nice stuff. Staff was so kind and nice! I was looking for a Whitney Houston vinyl unfortunately they haven't any, however I bought Olivia's Rodrigo new album "GUTS" ✨

Really loved this place. If you're looking for an alternative vinyl place this is a great place to check out

Awful - terrible customer service as it is almost impossible to email a real human. I got sent a record I pre-ordered in March, arrived in December and is officially the most warped record I have ever seen in my life. Order #1883597 DO NOT BUY

Well priced and good amount of post 2000’s stuff. I find it harder and harder to go to a store where everything is only from 50’s-90’s if i’m lucky. So refreshing to see new albums. Also they had a few special editions i’ve never seen and they had a solid collection of cassettes and cd’s to. The staff was kind and hard at work. Out of the 5 record stores I visited on my vacation to NYC this was my favorite. If i go back im coming here again.

I did an online order and forgot to put my apartment number on it and USPS returned it to sender, so I called them and explained it’d be coming back their way and asked if I could pay additional shipping to just get it sent back to me instead of refunded. I updated my address with them and they put a note on the order, they shipped it right back out to me as soon as they got it and didn’t even ask me to pay extra postage. Great customer service

Nice shop, mainly new records, a few used but not well organised and small collection. Cool atmosphere and central location but not the best place for used records

Right in Rock Center. Decent selection of new releases, used, psych, small bins of blues and jazz. A fun place to hit if you're in NYC. The usual books and tshirts too.

Nice little record store with a good range of new and used vinyl. Staff are very friendly and on hand to help. Good live events too!

Attended a live performance and Q&A. Vinyl's were pre-signed. They had us sit on the floor which was uncomfortable but allowed others to see.

Zero staff interaction and so/so selection make this record store average as far as record stores go. It was kind of like they took the vinyl section of Urban Outfitters and made a generic store out of it.

I liked the Brooklyn location better, but that’s beside the point. Great selection and cool staff. I dig that they sell tapes and CDs too. Definitely dig through the used section, you never know what will turn up.

One very good music store, with good collections of vinyls, books, cassettes, and other merchandises. The staffs have good knowledge about their products too. Five stars!
