I’ve spend over $17,000 there for dental work. At the beginning they were pretty good. Although it took almost two years to get all my issues resolved. I signed a contract, stating that the entire cost would be about $12,000. But I has a few things that they felt that needed to be done. I complied, I always paid in full prior any of the procedures was performed. Toward the end of the treatment plan, I was told that the prices have increased and that the student that told me about my insurance coverage told me some disinformation and that certain procedures were not covered. Still I said ok and paid them. Then during the last day of my treatment, I was suddenly told that because they’ve raised their prices since I’ve sign my contract, I will have to paid for the extra charges. The clerk, in their finance department, Denise Martinez, made a call to another person in front of me and was told , to paraphrase the conversation “ we have to tell the students how to inform patients about insurance coverage”. So on that day, I gave them my final payment and was told that I am all paid up. Now about a month later, they told me that I owe another $1000. They also did not tell he that my regular dentist is no longer affiliate with them. I’ve signed the contract with a certain price, the fact that their prices have increased after I’ve signed the contract is not my problem. They should still honor the prices in the original contract. I should not have to pay for Their sloppy finance practices. My originally contract should be valid. Now they are trying to collect that money with a collection agency. If they can do this to me, someone who speak English fluently, can you I imagine what they have, is and will do to patients who don’t speak English fluently. Patients who are vulnerable, the senior citizens? I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are over working their students. All they care about is billing and milking the Medicaid and Medicare system. They are truly disgusting. If you’re looking for a good place to get your dental work done, DO NOT, at any cost, go there. Get yourself a real dentist. Someone who will get your dental work done faster and will not subject you to their sloppy and fraudulent bookkeeping practices. They need to be reported to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and be investigated. Who knows how many other they have tried to cheat money out of.

While the students and residents are amazing (and I do mean that), the office staff is absolutely terrible. In person, they have bad attitudes and act like you’re inconveniencing them just for showing up to your appointment. The worst part, though, is making an appointment. Dealing with them has been a nightmare. When I had a tooth break off at the gum line, it took them 3 weeks to set up a Zoom screening. It then took an entire month to set up an in-office screening, where they determined, yes, I needed an extraction/implant. (Duh!) It then took 8 weeks to set up the screening appointment with oral surgery. It then took another 3 weeks to schedule the surgery itself. And now I can’t get on the calendar to complete the restoration even though my implant has healed. Each time, what happens is they tell you to call to set up appointment. When you call (once you finally get through), they tell you they don’t have access to the calendar, so they tell you they’ll pass your info along and someone will call you back. No one ever does. You can call everyday, and no one calls you back. You can ask them to escalate it to the head of the department, and they say they will, but no one calls you back. It takes making a complaint with Patient Services to get an appointment (they do it on your behalf), but Patient Services has long wait times on the phone, too. After nearly 8 months of subjecting myself to this kind of abuse - when dental issues are already traumatic enough - I finally decided I didn’t deserve it. Yes, I needed the savings that the dental clinic is supposed to offer, but ultimately, I’ve decided to complete my restoration process with a private dental office that doesn’t charge much more than this teaching clinic (they were upfront about the price over the phone), has a very friendly staff, was able to see me the very same day when I called and told them what was going on, and will be able to wrap this restoration process up in 2 weeks, not another 2 or 3 months (or more).

This is the worst Dental University I've ever been to, they had me suffering for over 6 months, placed me on a waiting list, just to call me in after 4 months and then turn me away!!! The most uncaring, inexperienced people in the world of medicine, if you're in PAIN, (((WARNING)))***DO NOT COME HERE***(((WARNING)))!!! And who cares if they notify their team, like are they going to change, are they going to really help people or become competent overnight....really????

Would give zero stars if I could. Where to begin? It took MONTHS to get an appointment, so I waited MONTHS. I was never told what floor to go to or suite number so i had to figure it out when i got there- fail. Several of the staff including medical staff were not properly wearing masks- fail. Received a text link to access online information but link did not work- fail. Was seen by a nice enough Endodontists who promised I would get a phone call and procedure would be scheduled ASAP- fail. Was given a number to text and rarely received a response unless I was a royal pain in the *&^ - fail. Excuse after excuse about why the procedure could not be scheduled, sampling of excuses were " the person we need to consult is away for the day. the person we need to consult is on vacation. The person we need to consult should respond to you." Was never given the name of this person- fail. NO EMR that I am aware of, which I cannot imagine is correct-fail. Told I was getting assigned to a different dentist but never given anymore information -fail. I asked for a refund and did not get a response- fail. So I looked up 6 different mailing addresses and 2 different emails and blasted my displeasure, also requesting a refund. Guess what- 3 phone calls that day and two emails- also a major fail. Was told I would get refund. Did not get refund. Had to email blast agin and then finally received refund. INEXCUSABLE, UNSAFE, RUDE...and please mask the hell up!

I am trying to make an appointment to remove my wisdom teeth as one of my teeth are wrapped around my nerves and I never receive a call back for an appointment. It has escalated from the scheduling team, to the program manager and then to the chief of staff and I have not received any assistance to remove them. I will be reporting this clinic to the health department as it seems nobody follows protocol to make an appointment for their patients

Amazing dental service and happy with the service provided. I especially want to thank Alec Litrel for his great service as a dental student. Very patient, dedicated to his work and super attentive. He made my dental experience worth it. I had two new filings done by Alec and the process was smooth and I felt very comfortable with him and his work in all my appointments. I am very content and pleased with the whole process and would definitely go back again thanks to Alec! I definitely see him prospering in his career and wish him the very best. I want to add that the facility is clean and they attend you on time.

NYP is one of the top NYC hospitals in the country. And, there dental services is a big fail. If a person is in pain and need dental services. They can not do an emergency walk in. A person would have to call the dental clinic. Then wait for a call back from a doctor. And, "IF" they don't call bk. Then try the next day. The most ignorant protocol ever. No other dental services in NYC have this protocol. It absolutely makes no since.

The front desk associate (probably Jamaican origin lady at Orthodontics, 9th Floor of 631 W 186 St.) intentionally mocks certain patients whose first name appears as MD, as in Mohammed. She knows very well that this MD is used as an acronym for Mohammed by only one nation in South Asia and the whole world. She made that clear the first time she asked what MD means. But each subsequent visit, she made fun of the "MD" whenever I came to her window. For the last six months, I avoided her window. If it is my turn to go to the window, and if I see all other windows packed, only hers open, I would send the visitor behind me. Yesterday, she sat in a blind spot of the window! I did not see her, and she changed her usual voice to call "Next." I went to her window and had no option to return as it might look rude. She started with the name! I said the phone number; she can easily use the phone number to look up! (Which others do). But she refused! She needs my name! I said it to her, and she pulled up the info! Then she started the same mocking. I often complain about this to the authorities, but they have not coached her. Because authority cares for your money, they don't care how you have been treated at their practice.

I was told my son needed sedated in another office. My son is allergic for so many foods I was worried. I brought him here and they did the procedure without anesthesia. All of the people in this office are very professional and humble.

Just look at the horrible reviews. Then find another dentist. The few positive reviews are obviously fake. It's not even cheap. A single implant is over 2K. But it hardly matters because Columbia Dental is totally dysfunctional. Furthermore, if you find a dentist who was trained by this school find someone educated at another dental College. I would never, ever trust a graduate from this absurdly incompetent program.

The five stars are only for the students and attending I was a patient for 5 years I admit that the Covid epidemic lengthened my treatment, but the one thing that could’ve been better was the office staff as I’ve gotten to meet them and realize they aren’t efficient at all, and most of their jobs could be turned into a self check in computer the students do more work to interact with their patients in scheduling appointments and most of the time office workers take 20 minutes just to check you in I believe the quality of this clinic would be much higher with different people, or without the job entirely. I’d like to give props, though to the clinic staff that helped clean and bring new dentist supplies out for the students it’s obvious that the community would not be as strong without them being there. And the office would not be able to run without them.

Excellent care! Professional residents. Plan to arrive early as there is usually a wait to get to the front desk to check in. Also the elevator is very busy which can cause delay in arriving on time for your appt.

My experience so far has been great. Admittedly, I was annoyed when I waited in line for X-rays only to be told "we're not doing more X-rays today." That could have been announce during the 20 minutes I waited. I was the last person in line. However, the most important part of my experience is with my dentist, Dr. Griffith. She is a spectacular resident. Smart, conscientious, dedicated. She has the precise balance of objectivity and compassion, especially for people like myself who hate going to the dentist. She inspires confidence by speaking to you in laymen's terms and by explaining what she is doing and why. She is going to have a very popular and successful clientele no doubt.

This is a very bad dentist to go to they will rip off all your teeth so your Medicaid can pay for i an & not even check properly to see what you really need, they only work for people who has jobs. I had to beg them for appointments after my molar was removed. My sister works with doctors they would take her but not me I had to beg them for a weeks and even sent my mother to make appoinments and no respond to this. They need to be banned!! They wanna take covid as an excuse to not do their work so idc don't waste your time coming here.

Very unorganized, they choose a direct plan to address and treat my issues at first. The attending was very passive aggressive they don’t really care to hear your concerns on your OWN treatment plan. The worse part was getting pre approval me signing all documents for surgery under sedation to then deny me sedation and gave me only two options; go with their course of treatment or find another surgeon. So I proceeded to get approvals had NPs and Doctors trying to contact the ones who signed off on my treatment plan for them to never contact anyone back. It’s highly unprofessional, time wasting and nerve wrecking honestly. appointment was for 11 am I didn’t get seen until after 1 & the front desk staff weren’t even going to tell the patients in the waiting room they wouldn’t be seen until after 1 because of backed up doctors and double scheduling. I was given the option of removing one tooth under local anesthesia to then come back for 3 more extractions. the advice for pain management is Advil and Tylenol together every 6 hours , so what would they tell me to take after they removed 4 teeth ( 2 wisdom at that ) while I’m awake under local anesthesia? horrible place.

Worst dental clinic ever. Definitely see a lawsuit being filed. Do not rely on this clinic and absolutely do not make an appointment with them.

THE WORST. save your time and get a referral somewhere else. I’ve tried to get an appointment for a year now and apparently they are always busy. I was told about 6 months ago i was on the waitlist. Never heard from them again. Called them back to see what my status was and they told me I had missed my appointment. Never received a call or an email about this so called “appointment”.

My review is for 8th fl dental clinic. This is a teaching facility and everything is chaotic as far as the follow up on your dental care, students have been great. The doctors teaching there have terrible way of following up on what their students are doing. I have gone thru two students , unresolved issues. At this point i paid in full for work that was done but since 6/26/23 they made impressions of my mouth kept my prosthetics, dental technician came to my checkup took upper prostethic and said he would work on this himself to make it right. I have NOT HEARD from anyone sice june . I have even called and left more than 3 calls to patient advocate. It is now September and still nothing. Everyone here drops the ball and then kicks it to a corner and forgets about your issues. Save yourself the headaches, go somewhere else. This story goes for two years hoping to fix my dental issues after covid shut everything down. MASSIVE MISTAKE, So story is i paid in full and have NO partial dentures.

The doctor was great. The facility was great and so was the supervising doctor. My only dissatisfaction was that my visit was literally 10 minutes and I paid $124 for it. In 10 minutes the doctor was able to tell me I needed braces and what type. I’m having a hard time with $124 for a10 minute visit. I’m aware that if I had gone to a private dentist the cost would have been even higher, still the amount seems excessive.
