I love coffee spots like this where people behind the counter make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! This is a cute little spot with couple chairs inside. Coffee and lattes are good. It's only 2 blocks from Columbia hospital so their coffee is fantastic alternative to Starbucks or any deli. Hope they remain open for a long time.

Finally a place that knows how to make oat milk lattes, wonderful croissants, and friendly staff. I love the cup carriers, makes ordering super convenient and they have a punch card system!

The cutest little snug coffee shop in the neighborhood with the best coffee. I've tried their hot and iced lattes, both unsweetened and with syrup (pistachio, vanilla, and lavender) and everything is top notch. The baristas really know what they're doing and it beats Starbucks down the street by miles. I wish this place were more well-known because they deserve more hype! Also love their matcha and cold brew. Sad to have left the Heights because I will miss this place.

Title: A Flavorful Oasis with a Friendly Touch! Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting "The Plug," a delightful coffee place owned by the affable Ben, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warmth and a genuine smile, instantly making me feel welcome. Let's talk about the coffee – it was an absolute revelation for my taste buds! The rich, full-bodied flavor of their brews left me captivated. Whether I indulged in their cappuccino or savored a classic cup of joe, each sip was a symphony of taste, carefully crafted to perfection. The balance of flavors was spot-on, and the distinct notes were allowed to shine through without overwhelming my palate. One of the things that impressed me the most was the attention to detail in creating a coffee experience that was crisp and refreshing. The baristas at The Plug clearly understand the art of brewing, ensuring that every cup is made with precision and care. It was evident that they take immense pride in their craft, as each cup was a testament to their dedication. Another aspect that sets The Plug apart is their commitment to maintaining a balance between sweetness and boldness. I found their beverages to be perfectly calibrated, not overly sweet but still delivering that delightful touch of indulgence. It's rare to find a coffee place that manages to strike such a harmonious balance, and The Plug certainly does it with finesse. Beyond the exceptional coffee, the ambiance of The Plug is a testament to the owner's passion for creating a welcoming space. Ben's friendly nature and genuine interest in his customers added an extra layer of warmth to the overall experience. The Plug is an oasis for coffee enthusiasts seeking an extraordinary taste adventure. Ben's passion for coffee shines through in every cup, and his dedication to providing a friendly and welcoming environment sets this place apart. If you're looking for bold, well-balanced flavors that will leave you wanting more, The Plug is undoubtedly the place to be. Highly recommended!

I walked in after a tough day visiting one of my adult children in the C-P hospital and walked into the best coffee shop experience I have had in NYC. Great coffee, seriously amazing jam donut, a delightful patron, great service and a wonderful tiny flipboard skate shop. I know where I am going from now when it comes to getting coffee here.

This is a small (2 tables and a total of 6 seats inside the coffee shop) but cozy place. Perhaps it's not a place to go and work cuz it doesn't have much space but is good for a small chat with friends and of course to enjoy a coffee

It’s been 3 months since I moved here. The still have no decaf coffee. Even tho I’ve asked few times if I can bring them a jar. Pretty weird in my opinion.

Iced Chai Latte was excellent. Had great convo with the owner and staff, very friendly environment. If you're in the Washington Heights area and looking for a low-key spot to sip some coffee and work on your computer, this is it.

The best coffee I found during my visit to New York. Their chai latte is fantastic and they offer freshly baked treats such as blueberry scones. I went there every day I was up in the Heights. My only comment is that ceramic cups should be offered for those sitting in the cafe, although I understand why they don't because it's a small space.

A hidden gem, tucked in the middle of the block. Definitely worth the walk, skip Dunkin and Starbucks. Try out the waffle and the dirty chai latte, they were amazing!

I discovered this gem about 2 months ago and have had amazing experiences each time I’ve stopped by! Their iced coffee hits the spot. I’ve also tried their iced lavender latte with espresso and iced dirty chai and both were delicious, not too sweet with great flavor from the espresso and other ingredients. They have a punch card, so you get a free coffee after you buy 10–but their coffee is so good that you would come back anyway. They are also so friendly there, often chatting with you as they make your coffee. If you are ever at NYP hospital, visiting the Armory for track, or work or study at Columbia’s medical campus, make sure you check out the Plug! The best coffee I’ve had in Washington Heights, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in NYC!

Amazing coffee shop!! We were looking for a coffee shop in the area and didn't want to get Dunkin Donuts. We had a very pleasant experience. We ordered mocha, chai latte and a drip coffee, and all of them was very good. The shop was very cute and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended!!

Stopped in here for a little pick me up. It said it was busy but not by the time I got here. Had a perfect latte and a lovely pastry treat.

We ordered four drinks, all tasty ! My drink was the lavender latte with oat milk. Had just the right sweetness to brighten the espresso. Seating inside seats maybe 4-6 people. Staff was wonderful, drinks tasty. Would recommend!

Amazing and cute neighborhood coffee place. You could tell that everything inside knew each other and it was such good friendly homey vibes. I had the best chai I’ve ever had and the lavender latte was also a hit! Get a punch card you’ll fill it up quickly 😀
