The path is easy to walk on with multiple stops to look at the rocks and sea. Most is suitable for wheelchairs users etc (can be done as a loop) and then there is an extra bit to the loop if you are capable of around 20 stairs. Awesome views. Didn't see the blowhole though despite the rough seas.

There's a large parking lot with good space for large vehicles. The start is lovely if you have the time to enjoy a meal at the Pancake house cafe and browse in the gift shop next door or grab some delicious ice cream before or after your walk across the street to the rocks and blow holes. Bathrooms near the gift shop. No dogs allowed. It's a quick walk, but the entire visit may not be because you'll stop many times for pur enjoyment and awe. These are very well paved paths and plenty of lookout points. The path is wide and flat enough for a stroller and maybe even a wheelchair. Very clean. The blow holes are intriguing, especially for kids. We visited on a semi busy day but still enjoyed areas with no one around. The rain had just paused for a bit right at the start, so we were able to enjoy it relatively clear.

We loved it. Just up the road from where we were staying. Something for free these days are rare. Unfortunately we weren't there when it was high tide ,so missed out on the blow hole working. Fantastic scenery and shapes in the rocks. I did manage to get a photo of the Chimney pot in action

Wonderful stop and views, if you don't mind crowds. Parking across the street was full and tourists galore along the paths. But for good reason. Great views and topography. Highly recommended (early).

A geological wonder on the west coast. A place not to be missed. Just a short walk from the parking area. There are ample parking spots. You can spend around 20-30 minutes here exploring and enjoying the place.

Lovely place to visit, we stayed the night in a wonderful motel and enjoyed the sunset here also. Great little visit on our trip through New Zealand.

Amazing views and rock formations and easyish walk. Just off the main road (use the carpark and cross road carefully) and walk along a number of look out vantage points. Stunning ocean and rock views. Lots of birds trying to fly in the wind and a little gift store with some nice things. Blow away any driving cobwebs with a lovely windy walk. Might make you feel hungry for pancakes!

Nice lookout onto some interestingly looking rock formations. Awesome landscape especially on a beautiful and sunny day. It's only a 20 minute loop walk so definitely recommended doing it. It also has a blowhole which looks interesting and you can get nice videos out of it.

A really well maintained 15 minute scenic walk overlooking the amazing pancake rocks. A real geological wonder. The sea was really rough and the views spectacular. The information centre and cafe was closed but we arrived late on Sunday. Definitely worth seeing.

It is a unique place for a walk, seeing the rock formation form over many years and seeing the waves crashed to the beach and blowholes during our visit on 28 July 2023. Trail is well paved and easily assessable, even for wheelchair users ♿️ It has a breathtaking beach view well worth your time and visit.

Title: Enchanted By The Majesty of Nature - Pancake Rocks, Punakaiki I had the opportunity to explore Pancake Rocks and Blowholes in Punakaiki recently, and it was an unforgettable experience. New Zealand is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, and this attraction is no exception. The rock formations, artfully layered like pancakes, are a unique marvel of nature - a testament to the passage of time and the Earth's evolution. The stroll through the immersion of verdant ferns, sea spray, and the rhythmic sound of crashing waves heightens your experience. The viewing platforms offer fantastic angles for photography and moments of sheer awe as you watch the furious ocean force its way through the blowholes, theatrically spraying water high into the air. The free entry just emphasizes that some of nature's best displays are indeed priceless. There's also a sweet café near the park entrance where you can savor a warm drink and bite after your walk. Be sure to visit at high tide, when the blowholes put on their most spectacular display, but every moment and view here is worth your time. Pancake Rocks is truly one stunning page of New Zealand's rich geological storybook, weaving historical wonders with spellbinding scenery. Highly recommended for lovers of nature, geology, and photography! P.S. Remember to respect the environment and leave no trace.

The name is very interesting:) it takes me about 30 mins to walk to the main lookout point, because there are some platforms are stunning as well, it definitely will stop you !there are plenty of car parks here and it’s for free. the views are still stunning during cloudy days, I think it will be pretty amazing on clear days.
