This is a lovely beach. One local told me that this beach was voted the best in New Zealand last year. I have been to better beaches in NZ to be honest, but it's still lovely. The views are great and if you get to kayak out to the island then you should definitely include that in your trip.

Voted best beach. Heaps of choices for safe swimming spots. Surf or flat. Long sandy beach walks close to an easy going main street with lots of great eateries and shopping opportunities. Friendly happy locals cos how can we not be happy living in paradise😁

An excellent beach to unwind and to practice surfing. Whangamata is a great coastal town that offers great dining choices and leisure activities. The trip was definitely worth it.

Beautiful beach nice waves. Nice walks along the beach. Did find abit of rubbish here heaps of bins around.

I love this place! It's awesome for short getaways and also if you would like to chill around. Great for families and groups!

Stunningly beautiful. The photos are taken at the southern end. Easily accessible from the road for most of its length but a lovely walk if you like sand between your toes 😎.

Best holiday spot! Gets a bit too many of the younger crowd on new years night but apart form that I love this place!
