New Zealand has a diverse coastline, and it is not easy to pick a favourite beach, but Ohope beach certainly stands out. Ohope beach is a pristine, long coastline that offers visitors the flexibility to pick their spot and still feel like they are on their own private beach. It is one of the best places to visit if you are looking for a relaxing day on the beach. What makes Ohope beach so special is its flat and sandy beach that is perfect for a variety of activities. Whether you want to build sandcastles, sunbathe, or swim, Ohope beach caters to all. Additionally, the gentle waves make it ideal for boogie boarding and body surfing, which is great for kids and families. Another noteworthy feature of Ohope beach is the safe and sheltered area on the north end with open showers and a toilet with changing facilities. This area is perfect for young children who want to swim or paddle in the water without any waves. It is also a great spot to have a picnic or simply relax under the sun. Overall, Ohope beach is a beautiful place that is worth visiting. With its stunning scenery, soft sand, gentle waves, and safe swimming area, it is an excellent spot for a family day out or a relaxing beach getaway. Once you visit Ohope beach, you'll want to come back again and again.

New Zealand's favourite Beach! There's a long coastline, so you can pretty much pick your spot and still feel like you are on the beach yourself. Flat beach, with decent gentle waves that are great for kids to boogie board or body surf. We will be back!

It is a nice long beach that extends far to Port Ohope on the eastern end. If you are visiting, I strongly recommend heading to the far eastern end as it is much quieter. Ohope is a bit overrated for me personally but I think it has much to offer and is a great holiday spot.

This beach is absolutely awesome. I have never been to a beach so large and spacious in my life. This beach really has nothing to fault on.

A very long white sandy beach. This has some waves for surfing and rowing. Life guard were very visible but at a designated place. Strong wind from the sea keeps you cool on a hot sunny day. There is not much shelter at the beach. On a clear day you can see white island.

Miles and miles of beach, the sea was nice and warm and safe to swim in. Plenty of nice sand. Toilet's are available along with place's to wash the sand off your feet. The beach was covered in sea shells.

Nice dog friendly beach. The water can be either very still or rough depends on the day. You can see White Island in the distance. There is a surfing spot on the Ernst end of the beach. Since motorcycle, ATVs are prohibited, it’s very peaceful. I would come back again.
