Dogs are allowed inside on a lead which is a huge plus for me. Atmosphere is cool and staff friendly. Food was good pub grub at a reasonable price. Good amount of TVs to watch the rugby on too!

5 star - this place is tucked down the back of Oxford Terrace . First off the service was outstanding! The two FOH staff were very attentive straight off. The man was out to give us drink menus and take our order in a very timely manner. The lovely lady even bought our dog some water and a little treat. I had the Little Fiddle beer which was outstanding (put some beer words) the food was also great. Crispy chicken juicy and full flavour. Roast was also fantastic. Thank you for the great hospitality. Will be back !

Had dinner here. Food was delicious. The service team was great. Polite and attentive. A must try. The restaurant is in an alley but there's a signboard directing you to a short alley way. So don't miss it.

If I could give less than one star I would. Service was slow. I can accept that when it's busy, but to forget to bring your drink after it's ordered is plain ordinary. Had fish and chips. If the fish had been left in the deep fryer any longer it would've turned to stone. Had difficulty getting my knife through the batter. A picture tells a thousand words.

Absolutely great food and service. We arrived without booking a table. It was no issue and wait staff were only too happy to accommodate us. We ordered the pork, roast lamb and fish and chips. The meals came out quickly and the duck fat potatoes were “to die for”

Food and service is incomparable. With total confidence I have recommended The Little Fiddle to friends and family, not often you can do that because things can change very quickly and there have been times when I've been embarrassed when it wasn't quite as I described. No worries whatsoever, they were all more than impressed. This is such an affordable venue, with outstanding food that would put many of the top restaurants in Christchurch and further afield on the back foot. Consistency is such a rare thing now, you can love a restaurant one week, return the next, and it's not as you remembered. The Little Fiddle is a gem, generosity and outstanding food so beautifully cooked and presented. And the thing I love the most is that this is home cooking as you remember it, cooked with love and caring, not a mass produced meal on a plate.

Was visiting the garden city for the day and decided to call in for brunch. Staff went out of there way to accommodate The hospitality was totally inviting Tucked away from the all the road an construction works Top it off the food was the right portion and had all the flavors going on Rate it up there with the fine dining on my plate Highly recommend And I look forward next time I'm in the city

Staff went out of their way to fit us in on a busy night & were friendly & efficient. Food was delicious & piping hot when arrived @ table. Only downside? No tea or coffee, but no biggie on balance.

So lucky we found this place early as it got very busy on a Friday for lunch. Had the best ever pork, vegies and potatoes in duck fat. A big serving but i managed to eat most of it cause it was just so tasty. Best pork loin and crackling ever. Service was outstanding

I have come here a few times during my lunch break while at work. The staff are friendly and inviting. Service is fast and food is yummy. Lunch prices are good too

food was awesome, though some of the staff were friendly, service could've been better, because I had to wait over 10 mins just for a cheesecake it was good to check it out, but whether I'll be back I'm not totally sure

Best food we have had by far while staying in NZ, waitress very helpful and friendly. Walked in and got a table without any hassle and colouring in for our son. Meals a good size especially the kids with great drink selection. Very impressed thank you 😊

Asked if I could have the Sound on for the England Game tonight was told the day before I could. Showed up and they refused in the corner. Our party ended up going elsewhere. Just want clarify the response below it's only because I had asked the day before when I was there and I was informed in the corner it wouldn't be problem the next day. I then had to quickly find somewhere else.

Ate dinner here night of 27/10/2023 and OMG! The lamb shanks, and Pork Roast were supr yummmmy!! High recommend if your looking for a hearty meal woth a cold beer or wine.

Can't speak for the food because we were never served. We were seated and we ordered drinks. After we sipped them once or twice a waitress came over and asked for passports from every person at the table (even if they weren't drinking). They also said that they would not take our food order until we showed them our passports. I ran back to the hotel and got every one of our passports, and when I got back they pretended we didn't exist. No matter how many times we flagged them down or made eye contact, they refused to even talk to us. Even when we decided to just leave, we went to the bar to try and pay for the drinks we got, but still they refused to acknowledge us. I guess we got three free drinks from them and that's cool, but why did they bother to seat us if they weren't going to serve us? And why bother having us take up space when they could have just kicked us out when we didn't have our passports? My guess is this place is locals only.

Friendly staff and good atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. Good area's both inside and out. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food but what I saw looked nice. Would definitely visit again.

Great Irish style pub service as it should be. The knick knacks on the wall hugely entertaining. Every staff member polite well mannered and excellent at there job. Simply excellent

Great pub in good location with a very reasonable lunch menu. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Hubby like his wagyu beef burger and the roast lamb and vegetables were so yummy. Definitely recommend :)

The Fiddle is a fabulous Irish Bar. Meals are excellent. They have a daily happy hour(s) and on Sunday a fabulous fiddle band playing great Irish tunes. If you're a rugby fan, all rugby games are shown. Terrific staff. It can get very busy though.

Great staff lovely atmosphere Irish band quietly playing in the bar and well priced good meals of generous size. Would highly recommend and will be going back.

Awesome bar, friendly staff and really good food. Had the Bangers with mash and a burger, everything was really good and fresh. Huge portions, great selections of beers from tab. Easy pub atmosphere.

Great staff super friendly, take your dog and sit outside. The southern fried chicken burger was deadly good and dont forget the cod bites!!

First visit. Took my friend after a very hard week. He does not going to town. We happened upon this pub and we were hungry & grumpy. I was very impressed with the ambience, the attentive staff service & the good food. Imam definitely going back soon. You do the same.

Not a bad place, beer is cold and the food is okay. Not a destination eatery though.

Awesome pub, my partner, sister and I went in for a drink, great cocktails and pricing, the staff are awesome, super friendly and even though they were busy they would still have a quick chat as they walked past. My sister was able to take her dog inside which was great and Riley (dog) got lot's of attention and cuddles and a bowl of water. I would definitely visit here again on my next trip to Christchurch.
