We were greeted by the friendliest staff on arrival into the cafe. The coffee was tasty and the banana chocolate muffin hit the spot after hiking the Old Ghost Road. We brought our own ingredients to make pizza and really enjoyed the social aspect of making pizza in the common area around the outdoor pizza oven. The new showers and toilet block are superb! The whole place is VERY tidy - camp sites, lawn area, kids play area, cafe, toilets, showers. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The large fire pit by the pizza oven is surrounded with seating and the smoke goes straight out the top so we hardly smelled of campfire smoke at all - amazing! We love this campground and will definitely be back.

One of the best campgrounds I have ever been to, worldwide!! And definitely the best in NZ. Fantastic views, clean, tidy, great location, lots of small or big features made with love and passion. Wonderful coffee house music in The Cowshed....... even the sandflies were friendly enough to share your blood. Cheers.

Great spot on the stunning west coast. It's definitely a campers campground, with few powered sites, and while the new facilities are amazing for peak summer time, it's not a place you go if you've never been a day without a warm shower, or if you like to nip into the shop for a few items ad hoc. And that's what makes this a great spot, you go here because you want to be here, and the team working onsite are friendly, great service and the other campers are respectful and will make your time at the point, a truly fun and memorable adventure.

Loved this Balinese style accommodation and pizza ovens. The showers and toilets were pretty Cool 😎. The weka were super friendly and a highlight for us. Would have been nice to stay longer. The beach was big and wild.

Gentle Annie is a gem, in all regards. The surrounding environment and related opportunities are amazing. And the camping opportunities are incredible. Yes, slightly rustic, the Cowshed Cafe, to state of the art - the architecturally designed showers and toilets - the whole place is fantastic. Whether you tent, rent a house, caravan or whatever, there is something here for you. And, let's not forget the staff - they too are amazing.
