For the price, it was definitely worth it. To nitpick...the seal on the fridge needs to be replaced, check the lightbulbs in the room, and the batteries for the heat pump remote. One last thing, the holder for the fire alarm was missing an important component. Other than that, plenty of room, comfortable bed, and warm atmosphere equals a good night stay!!

This is the worst motel I've ever stayed in. Reception was 2 doors down the streeet. Old mattresses and beds lying at the end of building. No parking available. Climbing the stairs to unit was dangerous as rotten boards and ripped skid protection. The bathroom shower rose was held together by electrical tape. Window in bathroom and kitchen was broken. Smoke alarm was sitting on the bench by microwave. The wardrobe doors were covered in grime. Only 2 towels were supplied for 3 adults. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I went to visit my friend whom was a single 50 yr old disabled lady she is a lovely friend with a heart of gold & nothing but pure intentions given her spiritual Wiccan beliefs , at this motel I thought it was nice from the front but as soon i got in the courtyard I found myself being eyed up by 3 characters trying to be what some would consider intimidating behavior, the whole atmosphere changed it is not suitable for my friend there is a couple of people staying there that decided to start picking on my friend damaging her vehicle and shouting out death threats they ended up while using the motels wifi to hack her phone using a fake facebook account to unblock their real facebook account and then my friend had to drop her grandsons off in massey the fuel light came on on her cars dash she pulled into a gas station to find her bank account had been emptied of all funds. My friend also told me that before they started turning on her she had gone out of her way to take them to the laundromat and also covered the cost of the machines she used which she paid back later, she never charged her petrol just wanted to help some one that needed it, now I don't know about you people but that's some nasty shady people, The staff are really lovely just not equipped to deal with problem guests given the staff age and lack of hospitality skills & or training

Would not call this a motel at all. Very unkempt from the exterior. Pigeons were roosting all over the patio. We met a guest who was living in the motel for a week, but was also doing the gardening and was seen removing a tyre off a car in the car park. Reception was not manned - had to call the number on the sign. Sign said that workers would be on site but could be working in different areas of the motel. Receptionist rocked up in a vehicle five minutes later. Without a NZ phone, I'm not sure how anyone would have contacted the motel. Multiple questionable characters walking up and down the car park. One review says that it appears to shelter the homeless, and that would be an accurate statement.

The big bed (double I'm pretty sure) was broken. And if we pushed it too hard one of the legs would come off The window in the bathroom is broken, and there is no heating. The wifi isn't that reliable and it wouldn't even let our tablet connect. The price per night for each person is $75 each. For the quality I wouldn't have paid more than $55 per person for each night. It does the job, we have a fridge, toilet, shower, two beds. There was two of us staying that night. I just feel for my cousin because I want high quality for her. Also found bugs in my room. Somebody drank water from tap and they got sick from it. I don't think that was the main reason, but it didn't help. We called for the heater remote, more blankets and towels. The man that answered the phone was impatient and rude (it was the wrong motel but the fact that he wasn't friendly isn't a good sign anyways). We ended up getting extra blankets and towels so I'm glad about that. The manager at the time, whom I think is called Pepe, is really lovely. She is what made it more bearable. If she wasn't friendly I would have rated it 1 star, easily. We went a couple of weeks back and this would be one of the worst places I've stayed at. And I've B&B at a woman's place in Auckland who was so disrespectful and unpredictable. If I had to choose again, I wouldn't come here. Pretty low quality service

Wouldn't recommend this stay to be fair. It has a very dodgy balcony. Makeshift floor in bathroom. Not the best accomodation if you are wanting style. Bedding was clean and the place was clean but well below average. Lady at reception was great though.

Stayed here a number of times Staff very good Rooms are clean but always something doesn't work Air-con on cool mode running hot air Internet very slow Fridge icebox totally fully iced up then blew up Bed very uncomfortable Some of the other guest a bit suspect..... Lock your vehicles But for location and price if you are prepared to put up with a few inconveniences you can't beat it for value Just a pity with a small amount of extra attention to detail it could be 3.5 star rated The owners are of overseas origin ???live onsite . Maybe instead of driving the latest top of the range BMW and Audis they could invest in an upgrade of a few basics for the motel Just saying

Only go if you're desperate or broke. Most facilities run down. Dirty and unclean bathrooms. Check in isn't even at the Rayland itself - it is at the Ascot nextdoor . It seems to be used for sheltering the homeless. Stay away.

😠 We would not go back. As others have mentioned we were very mislead by false internet pictures. Our room was horrendous, shared bathroom/toilet like a backpackers, shared with 100 students at a party. Bathroom smelt like urine/vomit and had a broken extremly noisy fan. Room was so uncomfortably hot!...
