I saw a tiktok video of this hidden gem, and while I was in New Plymouth I knew I had to visit. I'm so glad that we did because this Fernery is so beautiful! I really didn't want to leave such a magical place. It's definitely a lovely spot to go and visit. My daughter had a ball exploring!

Such beauty in the Park and Fernery. So much to see and admire. A joy to visit and a must see when visiting New Plymouth. While there, take time to sit and have a nice cup of tea with cake, at the tea rooms and enjoy the scenery around you.

Absolutely gorgeous series of huge glasshouse full of beautiful ferns, orchids & all sorts of native & exotic plants. Thoroughly enjoyed walking through & chatting with staff who are always friendly & willing to share their enthusiasm 😊

What an amazing place! It's so beautiful. The city is so lucky to have such a local gem! And to visit for free is amazing! What a peaceful environment! Highly reccomend checking it out as it is the nicest place I have seen in New Plymouth!

Definitely worth a visit! Our kids enjoyed the plants and all the cool tunnels connecting the different display areas. We went on a hot summer afternoon and I was expecting it to be unbearably hot inside the greenhouses, but it wasn’t too bad. Do check their opening hours when you’re planning your visit, (we arrived the first time at about 4pm and had to come back another day).

Gorgeous display houses. Great spot to escape the rain. A huge range of ferns, flowers and plants generally. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable too.

We had an awesome afternoon walking through the Pukekura park and fernery. The many different areas to the fernery with the beautiful tunnels was such a unique experience. We had a pram with us which did make walking through a bit challenging, but definitely worth it.

Such an amazing place to visit ... lovely to wonder though & so well taken care of. Definitely one of my face places - we visit regularly. Don't forget to pop in a donation if you can 😊

Well worth the time to visit. If you can spare 45 minutes it's well worth it and only a 5 minute drive from central New Plymouth.

you never see every plant here, the more you look the more there are!! is definitely a must do and do again if you're in the area. i always love coming to the fernery, especially now that it's almost spring it got me very excited. the tunnels are always so cool, the fountains very peaceful. the flowers were super lovely and vibrant. the lady who worked there was very nice too. and of course, can't forgot the adorable goldfish. i love them little buggers.

Pukekura Park is wold class and an absolute highlight is the fernery. It is so much than ferns. The floral displays in here are just stunning and on a grand scale. We’ve seen lots of displays in many botanical gardens around the world and I am hard pressed to think of better display. It is so beautiful in here, don’t miss it!! (A cropped 30second video just can’t convey what’s here)
