I love coming here, laurent has helped me from when I pregnant to right now… 10 months later. He he has worked with me through my highs and lows and works our sessions around me and knows when to push me or when to take it little easier. I love coming here not just for exercising but having someone so empathetic listen too and use his outside perspective to help achieve more bite sized manageable goals. I mean everyone there is great, it’s the first gym I’ve been to where I feel comfortable. It’s a great source of self care for me and I love how much they offer to such a high standard and approachable the people and the gym in. Thank you guys for looking after me 😊

I've been doing weekly sessions with Lorena for over a year now and it's been fantastic. When I first started I was often getting pain in my lower back. Lorena's programme was specifically designed for me and the pain is completely gone. I'm also now much more confident in myself and my body. I never thought I would look forward to going to the gym but I really enjoy my sessions with Lorena and making progress week after week is so satisfying. I highly recommend Lorena and ONI!

Oni offer 1:1 coaching, tailored to your needs, with a variety of trainers across multiple disciplines. I've been working with an amazing strength coach who creates programs to help me hit my goals, while factoring in my other activities like mountain biking. Oni don't do long-term contracts, which gives you flexibility to work with them in a way that suits you. I've found this much more useful than traditional 12-month membership gyms.

I’ve been training with Lorena at ONI for a while now, and she’s fantastic - thanks to her I’ve gone from being someone who doesn’t feel comfortable exercising or going to the gym to someone who actively looks forward to it every week! I feel like my fitness has improved so much, and even when it’s challenging I know Lorena isn’t going to ask me to do something I’m not capable of, which has also improved my confidence. The gym itself is great too, and the team are very welcoming. I’d absolutely recommend booking in with Lorena at ONI if you’re looking for a new trainer or a new challenge!

I first started my PT journey with Harriet back in 2021 after a hectic time with lockdown, work and study on the back of several years of shift work. I was really nervous to get started, having never been in a gym before and watching my fitness rapidly decline over the years. But, Harriet put me instantly at ease. Her manner is both positive and encouraging. She has worked alongside me for the last few years and it has honestly been life changing! My goal was to feel strong and empowered with my training and I have achieved that and some! I have gone from not being able to squat without pain to squatting over 60kg! From not being able to deadlift to lifting more than my own body weight. And most importantly, from feeling tired and like I can't keep up to feeling strong and capable. I would highly recommend working with Harriet, she is knowledgeable, encouraging and empowering to train with!

I couldn’t recommend ONI gym more. I have been working with Carl for a year now and he is a fantastic personal trainer. Carl is very easy to get along with and he really invests in you as a person. His focus is on your holistic health (including diet, sleep, stress, etc), not just working you out in the gym. Training with Carl is the right balance of fun and a challenge, and he tailors each session to your needs - whether that be a stretch/ rehab day, or a push. I absolutely love training at ONI - all the staff and clients are super lovely and get along really well. It’s a great atmosphere to train in.

Incredible space and people. I appreciate how Laurent pairs you with a trainer specific to your style and goal. Actually feel like I'm heard by Oli, he's engaged and cares and I'm excited to go each time. Plus everyone just has fun

I truly don’t know how to start this really. I’ve got a nutritionist and personal trainer here. Without a doubt I can say it’s changed my life. Yeah you’ll go to other places and they’ll tell you how to lift weights but in reality it’s just a job and some are not great at it. Here at Oni they genuinely care. It’s more like Life Coaching than a type of gym you’ve been used to. Instead of throwing weights around, you can feel the smallest of muscles, movement which was hard or impossible before. Learning to engage parts of your body that probably have been rarely used before. All in a laid back, fun atmosphere. While being helped to eat the right things at the right time. I was scared and apprehensive about going but without a doubt walking through the doors of Oni was one of the best decisions I ever made. Highly recommend you make a visit. The one who made me feel at ease - Laurent The one who feeds me - Emma The one who inspires me - Lydia Best wishes on your journey.

Laurent and the team are some of the most switched on folks I've had the pleasure of spending time with in the personal training realm. Personal trainers that are interested in what you want to be good at, able to break it down in easy to understand ways and are really on a team with you. If you're in Wellington and want strength, speed, mobility (any or all of the above) Oni is the spot.

I highly recommend Carl for anyone looking for a personal trainer in Wellington! Carl has a ton of experience and knowledge, and he's great at working with complete beginners too. He makes every session fun, challenging and engaging while tailoring things to meet your needs. He’s got a great sense of humour and sessions with him always have me laughing. I definitely recommend working with Carl if you’re given the chance. Thank you again Carl and the rest of the ONI team!

Laurent and his team are fantastic, kind and professional and the environment is welcoming and friendly. ONI will really help you work toward whatever goals you may have with a wide range of expertise and focus throughout their team and tailored programs. Carsten is also an excellent masseuse, I will certainly return for more deep tissue work.

I’ve had a fantastic personal training experience with ONI. When I started with Harriet, my shoulders had very limited mobility and there were many basic gym movements I couldn’t do. Harriet has been incredibly patient with my back and shoulder pain while still providing the challenges I need to build strength. Harriet’s attention to detail and encouragement have helped build a positive relationship to the gym and my body. A year on, I am spending most days pain free and am doing movements I thought I’d never be able to do! So stoked to finally be able to squat and deadlift weights without fear of injuring myself. While I still get the occasional flare-up of shoulder and back pain, I feel that Harriet has helped me develop a practice of mindful exercise that empowers me to recover and quickly get back on track with strength building. I would highly recommend Harriet as a personal trainer!

I see Oli at Oni, who has helped me get back to progressing at the gym, moving pain free, and dance after a chronic back injury. Oni is a really fantastic studio, with a lot of care put in to ensure the client feels comfortable and empowered in the gym. The holistic/movement approach has enabled me to be more aware of my own movement patterns and for the first time in a long time I've been able to progess all my goals in a sustainable way - reducing risk of burn out and injury. Thanks Oli you are awesome 😎

Shout out to my personal trainer Lorena! We have been working together for a year at Oni and it has been a fantastic journey for me. Lorena is really invested in helping me achieve my goals through fitness and nutrition in a non regimented or intimidating way like a lot of gyms and I have seen huge results. Highly recommend

I really look forward to my sessions at ONI. The gym space isn't overcrowded and has a relaxed vibe. If you feel intimidated by the thought of going to a gym, this is a great place to come. The PTs are welcoming and there is a really nice atmosphere. My PT Oli is excellent, he is very knowledgeable with an intuitive, calm approach. He listens and tailors the exercises to me. After a few weeks, my lingering sciatica was gone. I have become more confident and aware of how I move and the exercises I can do to stay injury free. Oli has helped me enjoy the process of getting more mobile and stronger. I highly recommend ONI!

Came to Laurent after a historic disk injury turned into painful sciatica. My lower back has caused me issues for the best part of the last 10 years, so the sciatic pain was the kick up the arse to sort it properly. I worked with Laurent for 3 months, coming in once I needed exercise progressions. My back pain is now completely gone and I’m able to play sport again pain free. Couldn’t recommend ONI enough. Really nice people and a relaxed environment to train/ learn.

I tried ONI after experiencing ongoing post op back issues. I see Adam who has been awesome, the old body has improved significantly, I'm back playing sport and getting amongst every day life without any issues. Highly recommend Adam and the team at ONI, they have been great.

I've been working with Adam at ONI for about 18 months now and love it. There's always heaps of space to work out in and you're never waiting to access equipment like you might at a big commercial gym. If you're after some training I'd strongly recommending to having a chat with ONI about what they have to offer.

I've been training through ONI for about 18 months now. It's a really nice environment to train in, and is not a "traditional" gym. There are only so many people there at a time, each trainee with their trainer, meaning there's space to breathe, and equipment is available when it's needed. Carl has been really great to train with. He gives me a physical workout, and I give him a cognitive workout with my ever-changing physical capabilities and pain levels. He's always finding ways to adapt moves and exercises to suit my capacity on the day which is really appreciated. Highly recommend ONI and Carl.

👍 Split across 3 levels navigable only by a single flight of stairs, the layout is sub-optimal.
