A “1” rating is not accurate! This is the most disgusting, dirty, unsafe property we’ve ever stayed at. Anywhere in the entire world! Broken security latch on door, staff opened our room and we didn’t have a key of our own. Told us to leave door open if we needed to go out. There was a strip of false eye lashes on our comforter and we found the match between the sheets! Sheets and pillow cases were stained and dirty and had glitter and hair all over them! Toilet lid was broken off the hinge and slid all over. Hair was all over the floor, toilet, counter, sink, shower. Towels were stained and dirty. Tub had thick layer of black grime. Wore flip flops to shower. Curtain bar taped together with masking tape. Mold on pipes under sink. AC vents broken and bent. We lay down on top of comforter in our clothes and wrapped the pillows in our jackets and did not sleep at all. Did not feel safe to complain to staff or leave as it was 2am and we just needed a room for a quick stay. We left about 6 hrs after arriving which was not soon enough! Would have felt safer and cleaner having slept on the floor in the airport. Paid over $170 at the risk our health and safety! Sickening!!

2 flies and a roach greeted me in the room w/a broken dirty microwave oven. About 16 burn holes in the bedspread, no hot water in the shower after letting it run over 5 minutes time. The floor clearly needed a sweep & mop. 2 pillows had not pillowcases. Customer Service is non-existent. The front desk does not know to say "Welcome" or indicate where the room is located. They do not even guide you to where one can wait for the shuttle airport van. At 12:45 AM, someone was trying to get into the room. Good thing it had a latch & deadbolt or else they would have made it inside. The front desk calls me at 12:47 AM to ask who I was! Then asked me when I was going to leave! I had already indicated I would leave by 7 AM. That was my real experience. Expedia should not do business with these people who know nothing about treating paying customers.

Only a 1 star because they don't offer negative stars. Absolutely the worst experience we've ever had at a motel. They tried to charge our card multiple times then denied it , caused us to put card on hold , we booked for 2 nights left after the first night. The staff were completely unhelpful and dismissive.

I would give this a zero if possible. It was an absolutely horrendous night. Our flight was cancelled so we stayed here, it was insanely overpriced for the standard of the room. The door to the room was too small for the frame so we could see outside. The curtain was too short for the window so we had to put a towel to cover it. There was no hot water. There was a cockroach and mice. There were cigarette burn holes in the bed sheet. The shuttle in the morning was always “five minutes away” but we actually waited 30mins. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have emailed twice now, and am yet to receive a response…

Staff was friendly enough but room was awful. I chose this motel because it was close to the airport and I knew not to expect much because it was Motel 6, but it was awful. The room was gross. The sheets were stained. The sheets had holes in them. There were hairs in the sheets on pillow cases. It was just gross overall. There were three small pillows on the bed. They were not even regular size. The atmosphere was just gross and yucky. I am glad we were literally there to sleep for about 4 hours. Good thing we didn't need showers because I was not going to get into that shower.

The room was nasty. Door didn’t latch properly nor did the curtain cover the window. It smelt. Walls and doors were filthy. Knees touch door when using the bathroom. Parking is horrible. You have to park two or three deep and in the middle of the lot as there isn’t enough parking. Ac didn’t work and had the change filter light on. Ac was taped into the opening and there was tape on the window. A used can or wasp and hornet spray was discarded on the balcony.

“We requested for a shuttle at the airport and multiple follow ups. “After 1hr the shuttle arrives. The hotel prices are stated as 94$ online and the Indian guys working at the counter wanted 250$ plus tax for a junk property. will call better business bureau and report this. However we got lucky with the crown plaza nearby, they were able to provide accommodated even having being sold out. They did have no show rooms available. I would recommend not to go to this hotel to all those reading this review. Better sleep at the airport if it’s sold out in town” The guys working on front desk aren’t professional & would like to push you to their own views and also suggested us to travel to a hotel that is 20 miles away that they owned.

Worst hotel ever. No parking. They have entire hotel full of repo cars. They are parked 2 and 3 deep in front of every room. The room was disgusting. Blood on floor, bathroom sink so big u could barely get to the shower. No area to take dogs out to potty.

Rooms are perfect. Burn holes in the covers. Bathroom door hits the floor so you can't open it all the way. Ceiling is falling down. The mini fridge is from 1879. Tv only gets 2 stations. Would rather stay in a cardboard box.

Decided to give this a go as my flight was canceled and was not allowed to sleep in the airport. Staff was very knowledgeable and knew how to operate the vending machine almost ever time. My neighbours staying here we’re all very friendly and kept asking if I needed glass (assuming they were local artists). Minimal fecal matter on the wall and only a few cigarette burns on the pillows. Highly recommend for any family vacation. 5/5 stars for the experience.

Don’t do it. Person at the front desk during check in was nice but the one at check out was kind of rude. This place is disgusting and a negative star will be more appropriate. We had 8 rooms for one night and there were issues with each and every room. Everything is dirty, 2 comforters had cigarettes burns, door latch was loose, bathroom door handle was broken, TVs don’t work, one of the rooms had only one working plug and another lost power to part of the room. There were 2 bugs on one bed. There’s some kind of outdoor venue next door that had loud music until 2am. Doors opening and closing all night long so God only knows what was happening there.

This was the worst experience ever! I do not recommend to stay here! I booked online for a night because I missed a flight. When I arrived there they said it was already full and no rooms were available and that they didn't receive my booking. Even though I showed them the confirmation email and the money was already booked from my account. For some reason they suddenly had a room then, but I needed to pay again! I paid again and got the room. But it is impossible until now to get the money back from the first booking - And so I paid 2 x $140 for one night for a really bad place. It was smelling bad in the whole motel and the whole atmosphere felt dangerous and criminal. They lied into my face and didn't care about me or other customers.

Nope. Never again. Flies in room because of big open space at top of door. Sign on door said "for your safety" use deadbolt and safety latch - which didn't exist. No coffee, as advertised. Bathroom door hits your knees when you sit on the toilet. Towels and bedding in poor condition. No signal for TV, so channels were limited and reception was "snowy." Airport shuttle was the only perk.

Terrible- room had dressers with every drawer broken; TV remote didn't work; no fridge; room was dirty and run down; door had gaps in it; AC didn't work; lights flickered when you turned on; shower temperature kept fluctuating - super hot and super cold; shower was a stall, no tub; very few blankets; toilet cover didn't fit right; microwave didn't work ND plug didn't reach outlet; floor was terribly uneven - like a roller coaster; patio walkway was not smooth; additional mattresses were outside of rooms - covered with mold. Very disappointed in quality of room. Would not stay there again.

Am seeking legal representation from this hotel and am going to sue. Rodent infestation is out of hand. A mouse climbed on my 4 month on baby while she was in her strolller . Wasn’t in room a whole hour before the incident and left immediately. Went straight to front desk and they said we will give you another room asked for my money back K and they declined just said they can give a discount on another room sorrry ! Asked for my money back numerous times and was not given it back . Am going to go up a higher chain of conman have been trying to contact owner to no avail

Just needed a quick one night stay close to the airport because we got in late. At first glance I thought not as bad as I thought based on the outside. There were holes In the covers. In the middle of the night I thought was someone trying to key into my room, but no, it was a mouse inside the trash can in the room. The tub was dirty. Didn’t shower there… waited until I got to my relative's house. I’ve stayed at a Motel 6 before, and had a great experience. They are definitely not all the same.

Had to stay here after a flight cancelation. Room key card didn't work, shower only the tub worked not the shower head. Blood stain on the sheet, hair in the sink, slept in our clothes. Felt like the floor was going to give way. Room smelled. Thin walls could clearly hear the neighbors hooking up (basically a motel for this kind of one night usage). 400usd$ the night and checking again today price dropped back down to 127$, price was clearly jacked up to scam people who are already exhausted and in trouble from flight problems. Uber or taxi is an expensive 35usd$ even though it's like 8 mins from EWR airport. Only good thing was the shuttle in the morning clean and on time. Did not see any bugs or pests either in the room.

It is not SAFE. The door lock doesn't work. Only door hook works... And someone tries to enter your room.. Don't stay! Rent an Uber and find a better hotel in a SAFE place.. You can compromise cleanness, good service, but not safety.

So I literally just got here. The staff seem very nice. Overall the hotel and staff are not bad. I just have a few complaints.....Why are the rooms at any Motel 6 never like they are pictured online? Why is the television cracked and the phone completely destroyed? Did no one check these things before verifying this room was good to go? Also, there are a lot.of loose cats in the parking lot.

I hadn’t realized this hotel was a 1 star hotel until after I arrived. It was dirty with cigarette burns on the chairs, electric receptacle hanging out of the wall, the floor felt like it was going to cave in in multiple spots, the bathroom was barely wiped down and had a sock under the shelf, they provided a two bed room with 3 towels and one washcloth. There were random black smears on the wall and pink ones too. The actual beds had crinkly plastic. We still stayed in the room because it was cheap and the bed was actually really comfortable. But I would definitely never stay there again.

Free shuttle but waited 15 minutes. There were no roaches. No frills. I got ripped off by the sofa machine in the lobby. Single ladies traveling alone: be mindful of your surroundings and other guests.

This is exactly what you pay for it's a Motel 6 for an inexpensive night. It's not luxurious but my was clean. It was not updated. The furniture was chipped. I had clean sheets. The bed was comfortable the door locked. It was no rougher than anywhere in that area you have a Crown Plaza next door so it's not isolated....all the outlets worked. The shuttle arrived at airport in 20mins. I left hotel at 5am it picked me up in 5 mins. Most of these reviews are written by entitled people who think it should be a 5 star hotel! It's a Motel 6 it was exactly like I expected. It was a place for me to sleep and shower.

Booked an overnight stay, the attendant warned us in advance that the tv may not have a remote and to use the buttons on the tv, ok no big deal, got to the room no remote like the attendant stated but the buttons on the tv didn't work, went to use the bathroom and the door looked as if someone was trying to escape, went to use the phone to request another room and the phone didn't work. So we figured we would leave and get a refund we hadn't been there for more than 2 mins. We go back to check in to leave and request a refund and the attendant says he can't refund the money, let me add we paid in cash. My friend gets into an argument with the attendant stating we haven't been there more than 5 mins and demands a refund, the attendant says he's not allowed to give refunds for cash only credit cards, made absolutely no sense, I ask to speak with the manager who wasn't there so he called him, at first he only wanted to refund $50 of the $160 we paid, after arguing with the manager he gave back $100, we cut our losses and left. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Oh yea to the guy videoing me send me a copy please!!!

This has got to be a last resort hotel for airport travelers. They charge 3 star prices for a barely furnished room with no remote, dated furniture, patched walls, and just a lack of pride in their rooms. Spend the extra on an uber to a nicer place. You won't regret it.

We got a low cost parking spot here for a long weekend. But when we arrived with our prepaid parking ticket expecting to quickly park and grab the airport shuttle, they told us they had no room. Trying to find ANOTHER long term parking spot over a long, holiday weekend was SOOOO Stressful right before our departing flight. We were so lucky that ABC Parking welcomed us and accommodated our last minute request to park. Go to ABC instead. This place is terrible. Don't fall for their fake advertising and low rate. IT is a sham, AND THE LAST THING YOU NEED before you try to grab a flight...

Our flight was canceled. One of the closest motels was this one, and from the beginning to the end, it was terrible. The receptionist was surly and nasty, and the room smelled of old smoke and mildew. There was a half inch gap under the door, which allowed any kind of insect to come in, and I was awoken three in the morning to find a bed bug attached to my right arm, sucking blood. The entire experience was disgusting, and once I return home, I made sure all my luggage stayed out in the garage, so I wouldn’t transfer roach eggs into my house. This place was appalling. 🤮

Not a bad room. Looked clean, definitely better than I expected. Sheets smelled a bit musty but hey, it's a Motel 6. Parking was the absolute worst. My best friend and I drove up in his SUV and I had to stand outside of the car almost the entire time to guide him so he didn't scrape one of the flat tired cars baking in the lot. Definitely mediocre at best, and not bad for the price. Probably wouldn't stay here again, but it's not like I regretted the entire experience. Two of these stars come from two very nice people staying there - S and P, if you see this, we love you

One guy, who said he was the manager, told us a price which we agreed, and when we wanted to paid another guy, who said was the charge us way more and told us that we had to leave earlier, he was really rude and even closed the door in our faces when we were complaining about it. We really needed the room so we stayed, the room was in very poor condition.

Stayed here for 4 nights. When we got to the first room, the bathroom door didn't have a lock and the toilet didn't flush. Second room was better. AC worked well, toilet you had to hold but flushed fine, sheets and towels were clean. Some outlets didn't work and we had to choose between the microwave or mini-fridge. Little stingy on toilet paper but they'll give you if you ask. For the price, it definitely met my expectations.

I had an absolutely amazing experience staying at the Motel 6 in Elizabeth, NJ. First off, the location was ideal, especially if you are traveling to and from EWR airport (they also provide shuttle service). Additionally, the staff was very welcoming and the rooms were kept in a clean pristine condition. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for places to stay in the area as it has great value for its very affordable prices!

Dirty. This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Don’t believe any of the 5 star ratings you are seeing. These must be written by the owners. The sheets had stains, floors were filthy, there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling on the first floor with the bathroom waste basket to catch the drips. The bed coverlet had cigarette burns in a non-smoking room. The shower water went from scalding hot to cold. The lobby was dirtier than many gas station lobbies I have been to. The shuttle times were off. Had to wait 45 minutes after we were told it would be 15 minutes. The shuttle was pretty dirty also.

Total dive. They park cars for offsight Newark Airport so if you come back late don't expect to find a place to park. I've stayed at many Motel 6's and I don't expect luxury, but I do expect cleanliness and a small degree of comfort. This place had neither. Never again!

  • 1/5 James M. 2 years ago on Google
This is bad. Dirty dirty dirty. Some of the electric installations are directly dangerous. I got bit by some kind of bug during sleep. Cheap but not cheap enough.

The rooms don't look like the picture on the website. The parking area for the hotel apparently doubles as airport parking, so good luck finding a space. I'm sure it was nice a few years ago, though.

For $200, we got a room with a broken latch lock. We saw 2 cockroaches on the bathroom sink. Bedsheets had holes. Within 5 minutes, we heard noises coming from the ceiling tiles, which could only be one thing...rats crawling around. We left immediately!

  • 1/5 Emily B. 8 months ago on Google
This place is one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. First, there is a serious language barrier (which isn't a huge issue, but added to the frustration). Then we just barely missed the shuttle from the Airport, and it took over an hour to come back even though we called requesting it. The shuttle and the room reaked of cigarettes. The room was unclean and falling apart. One of the armchair legs was propped up and fell right off as we pushed it out to sit. The headboards had nasty drip stains running down it, clearly hasty been wiped off ever. The ceiling tiles were all ajar. The floor was caving in in one spot and was sticky all over. I didn't even take a shower after 24 hours of travel the tub was so gross. I know to keep my expectations low with Motels, but this was bad

  • 1/5 Paula R. 7 months ago on Google
The only thing this motel has going for it is its proximity to Newark Airport. No aspect of the stay was pleasant, courteous or clean. Not sure how health department finds the conditions acceptable. Dirty, cigarette holes in sheets and bed coverings, holes in the wall, moldy shower, no hot water. Front desk clerk was just as slovenly as the facility. Awful.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Cockroaches in the room, the front door didn’t shut properly so light and noise was coming in all night (and felt unsafe), no hot water the whole stay including showers, room was dirty on arrival, cigarette burns on the sheets and the toilet wasn’t attached properly to the wall so it rocked when you sat on it. Pictures not like the rooms at all and way over priced. Contacted management including photos of the cockroaches and everything else but they have not replied. Disappointing, don’t go!

People here are very rude. I stayed one night got to the hotel in the night and I had to leave in the middle of the night cuz I had a mouse in my room when I did the checked out I spoke to the receptionist he said to called in the morning around 10:30 I did that afternoon they told me they were gonna refund the money back to my account by Monday morning I check my account and nothing, called them back to check what was going on and the guy who pick up the phone told me that they were not gonna refund the money cuz I had a mouse in my room all he can do it’s give 25% if I go back and hang up the phone didn’t even let me talk. I paid 149.00 for a room it’s not even worth it. Don’t stay in this place it’s not good at all and service some of them are ok but some of them are very very rude no social skills what so ever

  • 2/5 Alexander P. 7 months ago on Google
Shuttle driver is rude and driving aggressively, plays loud most Arabic music imaginable. The shuttle van is new and works 24/7 but smells like ashtray. Front desk is hard to reach on the phone, once he picks it up it's hard to understand the accent. Expired M&Ms in vending machine. Puddles of water on hotel territory. The place looks way much worse than on pictures. Everything in room, except the bed feels dirty. Crickets chirping loudly at night somewhere in the ventilation system. AC is loud and you can't change it's fan speed. One of the worst motels I've been to

  • 1/5 Maddox M. 1 year ago on Google
The lobby smells like mothballs and fryer oil. I was in line waiting to be checked in after a flight was cancled and had a couple come in and immediately cut to the front because the key they were given was to an already occupied room! The clerk left with them without saying a word to myself or the 4 others who were left confused. After I was finally checked in I was directed to where my room was, as I opened the door I immediately stepped into a stagnant pool of water that extended the length of the room coming from the bathroom. I grabbed the 2 towels provided and wiped up the mess. When I walked back into the bathroom to hang the towels I noticed on the lip of the tub there was a face towel covered in curly black hairs. The deadbolt also did not engage and the door did not fully shut and could have easily been opened in the night while I was sleeping. I hid my luggage and prayed for morning. Absolutely awful experience, avoid at all costs!!

The only good thing about this Motel 6 is the price. We needed a room because of a 12-hour layover for a brief respite. The location good, the price good, and everything else bad. Inside the room every place you cast your eye, something was wrong. The drop ceiling had water stains on it. The walls had indescribable stains on them. The luggage holder had one broken leg making it unusable. The air handling unit look like it was about to fall out of the wall. The table top was suffering from delamination. The furniture had cigarette burns on them. To summarize, the room felt like maybe a half a step above the level of a flop house. Terrible!

The lobby has no AC. Smells horrible. The front desk is run by non English speaker and lied to me. Said to walk in business was "slow." Well I show and parking lot is packed. Price is way too high. Crown Prince Hotel next door is basically the same price and 100x better.

We arrived at check-in time and was greeted with a hotel key card that didn’t work. Not even a hello. Seems like there is a major language barrier here. Several times we had to go back to lobby. Once we finally got in our room… the main light in the ceiling was broken, the tiles in the bathroom were cracked, the bathroom shower was utterly disgusting. There was several people hanging out outside making us feel uncomfortable walking inside. We were celebrating a birthday and that room was not acceptable. I went back to the front desk for a 4th time and asked for a new room. He didn’t ask any questions.. he just gave us a new room. The new room was slightly better and bigger however… the heat/air machine in room was filthy with dust and a strong order of burnt smell. The microwave had no turning table inside, the phone in the room had no buttons and was not even hooked up, the fridge didn’t even get cold, the sink in our bathroom wouldn’t drain and the main table in the room looks like it’s been spilled on over 100 times. There was literally a food menu found in our bathroom with a dirty mirror. I went to the front desk to request more pillows and I was handed 2 after requesting 4. He said he would bring the other two pillows to my room and it was never brought to me. The housekeeping had the audacity to KNOCK ON OUR DOOR AT 9am when we only stayed here for ONE NIGHT AND CHECK OUT IS AT 11am so why tf someone knocking at our door for us to leave at 9am for? This place needs a major facelift, has the potential to be a nice motel because of location but the service and quality of everything here was absolutely terrible. Even for the price - you can at least meet the bare minimum of necessities. Will not be back

Very modest, but clean room. Comfortable bed. I am a middle-aged woman who frequently travels alone and I was a bit concerned, but seeing all the international people traveling solo/a, families, and couples, I was cool with it. I came here to see Peter Baron's Mountain tribute band in Staten Island. It was an absolutely perfect trip. Super close to the airport and minutes drive to quaint, interesting eateries. I was on the first floor, room 109, and felt very safe. For a very modest place, I really enjoyed their shower. The service staff was so accommodating and warm. Carmen Diaz took especially good care of me. As always, I tip very well, even though they didn't expect it! Please tip them. 🌈 My only qualm is that I didn't see any coffee ☕. Other than that, I will return to explore NJ (my first time here - loved it!) and my beloved NY!

My fiance and I were very pleased with our stay at Motel 6. The rooms were very cozy and clean. The front desk workers were pleasant and very helpful. Our stay here was all around enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to others! Great job, Motel 6! We will definitely be back!

If you need a place to sleep and nothing else. then I suppose you can. The place looks like it’s falling apart, there is a distinct smell of cockroaches, and the rooms are not the best conditions. I ended up booking another hotel some place else. wish I could have gotten my money back but I’ll take the L for choosing this place. it will be the last L of this kind I take. It’s convenient cause it’s near the airport and it’s cheap (I now, know why) that’s the reason for give location 5* Service I can’t say cause I didn’t stay! The dude at the front desk wanted to switch me rooms but if you ain’t putting me in another building, I can’t see it being any different. 3* cause I don’t know.

The only positive thing I can say is that the motel is centrally located and close to many things, including New York. For the rest, the motel is ugly, dirty, dark, the bathroom is super uncomfortable, the service is horrible, the room is super small and the cost of what you pay does not compensate what you get. I can't give it less stars because the minimum is 1 but if I could I would give it -10 stars. The first day they gave me a room that was already occupied by another person and that client and I almost had a problem because of the man in the lobby who did not do his job. I will never go back to that motel.

I called today trying to ask about airport parking, and one of their employees was so rude and impatient. He tried to tell gave me the airport parking number and I told him to give me a second so I can write the number down. He just kept on talking and I told him to repeat the number he literally said " oh come on man" and he hung up. I've never stayed in that hotel before but I already know how bad it is just based on their attitude toward their customers. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!

Pipes were frozen. Cold toilet seat that slid when I sat down. The shower did not work but I was able to get water to come out and make myself an ice bath. Far from an experience that I wanted to have on Xmas eve.
