Unfortunately this is one of only two restaurants in Terminal B. The food is outrageously overpriced and mediocre. If possible, I’d recommend eating on flight or buying snacks to hold you over. Service is timely although unfriendly and inattentive; for instance, when we asked for sauce, they never brought it.

If you happen to arrive at EWR for a 7:55am flight, it’s worth noting that Priority Pass lounge access starts at 8am sharp. So, if you want to sit down and eat food off a table, that leaves you with one option: the Unusual Times. My advice? Read the reviews first. That will help you establish the right mindset heading in. (One reviewer, named Juan Felipe Rincon, described the Times simply as “a nightmare”.) Once your expectations have been sufficiently lowered, you’re ready to dive in. There are no frills at the Times. No omelette station (also no omelettes). No lunch before 11am. No metal silverware. No knives at all (metal, plastic or otherwise). The continental breakfast costs $18 for low fat yogurt and a muffin. But, especially when compared to the continental breakfast, the $15.50 bacon egg and cheese is a relatively good value. And the coffee - despite it’s burnt aroma - really hit the spot. So, when deciding between going hungry before a 7 hour international flight or braving the (unusual) Times, you can be reasonably confident you’re making the right choice. There are no certainties in this life. But, in these strange times, at least there’s one restaurant at Newark Airport Terminal B you can count on. Even if it is a little bit… unusual. And… if we’re really being honest with ourselves... aren't we all a little bit unusual? Respectfully submitted, EBR from EWR

The worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I immediately regretted not buying overpriced snacks at the kiosk beside this instead when the plate came. With only 2 restaurants in this part of the airport (gates B51-57) there were not many options, and the other restaurant didn't open until 1pm. I ordered the chicken tenders which were 4 chewy, re-heated masses served with a side of hard potato "chips" (not fries) served on a paper plate with plastic cutlery. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich which was equally sad. Even the water had a funny taste. I think everything here must be microwaved. For $20 per person this is NOT worth it. Never again. Staff were polite. I feel bad they have to work serving this food.

We had a $60 airline voucher and we ordered some food and we’re very limited since they didn’t have much available. Our two terrible meals were served on paper plates and were expensive. Caesar salad had no chicken for 20 dollars. Worse yet they wouldn’t give us any remaining credit to use elsewhere. What a scam

Such a disgusting place! Horribly expensive food. Place is filthy, floors cover in garbage, carpet just dirty. I can't believe it that in a international gates have this really bad place!!!🤮🤬

While I understand that this is inside the airport there is no service or any sort of organization at this place. The portions of course are tiny and overpriced, but they don't even get the dishes right. They were out of one too many things.

I usually flying from JFK, but sometimes I have to fly from Newark. Options for food on terminal B are slim to none. If you are going for beer, drinks you are probably ok, but food is unbeatable. It was morning time, so I ordered an omelette and was tasteless. Taste like a paper. Service was great and polite but food not good at all. How difficult is too make a good and tasty omelette.

Stopped by for breakfast. The prices are very high and the service is slow. There were only 2 workers waiting the entire place and they were definitely working their butts off; however, it was not enough. Shame on the owners of this restaurant for not having the proper staff. The food was OK, definitely not worth the price. It is the only place to eat in terminal B. Recommend eating before you go through security if you can.

Terrible. Eat before you go through security at Newark! This is the only option for gates 52-55 so they’ve got you over a barrel. QR code ordering system doesn’t work. Food is a complete rip-off. All of it seems to come out of packets and be dumped on paper plates yet it’s a sit down restaurant with prices to match. Paid $15.99 for a jumbo waffle with fresh berries and whipped cream. It was a freezer waffle with four small pieces of mushy strawberry. Unbelievable.

Difficult to figure out how to even order— the QR code doesn’t work. Waited ten to fifteen minutes in a line that moves at a snails pace, only to learn that they were out of one of their VERY few items (soup). All soup. The margarita tasted only of tequila, and the Caesar, although edible, is about as cookie-cutter and bland, unthoughtful and rudimentary as can be— complete with a paper plate. PLEASE go anywhere else.

Not the first time I’ve been here and unfortunately with flying from Newark a lot not the last. This time was 9 minutes before someone came over to the table, with 3/26 tables with customers. I told the woman my order finally and she came back twice in 10 minutes to make sure I didn’t ask for cheese (an extra $2!). When she brought my tea it was super bitter and cold. Seriously the worst place. Even worse, it’s the only place here. 28 minutes to produce this, for $15. Again when she put it down the waiter says “no meat right?”. Seriously the worst service and quality.

Very professional staff despite being undermanned. The food is absoluletly disgusting and overpriced. You are better off buying junk food from the kiosk 5 feet away or wait until you get on the plane. Save yourself the trouble by avoiding this place.

This place is super lucky to get 3 stars. If you come here you will quickly understand why it currently has a 1.5 on google. Yuck! Slow service. High prices. Nothing to look at. Too quite music. Just ok food. Loved my cheddar and broccoli soup. BLT was quite bland. Here were bits of food floating in my beer. I’m not sure if it was from me, or if it came with the goose island. I hope it’s the former.

Options are limited in Terminal B Gates 50-56. Well, this is actually your only option if you want to be close to your gate. It's more like cafeteria food vs. Sit down restaurant which is a bit unexpected as it is indeed a sit down restaurant. I sat at the bar because there are outlets lining the entire bar. Draft beer is 9.99 (no complaints here, in other terminals you're looking at $14 for a draft), and my Cobb Salad was $16.49 which again if you're in NY you can easily pay $16 for a salad so not awful. Everything comes on paper plates with plastic cutlery, the Cobb salad was fine, I mean it's a salad they can't mess it up too bad. It wasn't beautifully presented but who cares, I was hungry and the vegetables were fresh. I think for what it is, a "restaurant" in the abandoned terminal of Newark it's really not that bad. Can't have your expectations high when you're dining in an airport. My waitress was super prompt and friendly as well.

The grilled salmon is absolutely terrible, I mean, the salmon was good but small. It came on a watery plastic plate with huge uncooked zucchini, maybe two pieces of red bell pepper, crumbs of mushrooms and some onion. Way over priced. Lady who served me was nice and that's it. To bad I didn't check the reviews...

Asked for hot water. Waiter said they didn’t have even though I see it literally behind on the bar. Waiter accepted a bribe of $3 for 250ml of hot water. Wish they were more straight up. Just say it’ll cost $3.

Terminal B has very limited options hence we were quite glad when we saw this restaurant only to be disappointed pretty soon. The lady who serves is extremely rude and it seems like she is driving the customers away😀 Food is expensive, unhealthy and with awful presentation. No vegan options at all which has been a constant challenge during our stay in States.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this place. The staff were okay but the food is poor, I wish I read the reviews and saw the pictures before hand on Google. Not worth the money as well, really disappointed.

For airport food at Newark it’s probably 4 star because the more isn’t any other warm food options. Food: Roast beef dip was really hot which I really liked! It came with chips and wasn’t crazy salty. Server: kind and pretty prompt. Didn’t catch his name but he was great! Atmosphere: Well I suspect this is why Newark has low costs but feels like an unused air terminal in the Midwest.

Worst Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Most pathetic Cobb salad I’ve ever seen, and I order them all the time. The Bloody Mary tasted like red Tostitos salsa, nearly undrinkable, and I suspect it was to hide how little alcohol was in the drink. You won’t have a choice if you’re stuck here, but this place is evil and all the reviews are accurate so beware lol

Run away! I came here because this is the only restaurant in the terminal. I understand that this restaurant is very busy and there is only one server, but this is ridiculous. Why don't you have any system of organization. I tried being patient abd and waiting for server to acknowledge me. But once I, a black woman realized that the server was going to white customers who where arriving after me I stood up, walked to him and asked him to take my order when he had a moment. He was very dismissive. After waiting over 20 minutes another lady sat at the table next to me and received service immediately. After he took her order I finally got him to take mine. Everything i ordered was sold out so i ordered chicken tenders and a margarita. 20 minutes later i received a nasty syrupy, sugary margarita. After another 15 i received ice cold tougher than leather "tenders". At this point i was completely exhausted from this experience. I did not want to cause any problems so i simply paid my bill then left

Can I give 0 stars? Literally the worst experience traveling I have ever had in my life. This cost me $18 and it was 2 slices of turkey deli meat on a bun

Food and drink is terrible, had a turkey egg sandwich for breakfast and the bread was chewy in all the wrong ways. It also came with potato chips on the side which at 7:00AM seemed... bizarre. Price is way too steep. I don’t really care that it’s in an airport and we’re captive consumers; $20.00 (~$27 CAD!!!) for a gross sandwich, chips, and a coffee is insane. Wait staff isn’t good either, took the waiter a solid 30 minutes to bring us the bill even though he was just leaning on a wall doing nothing. Even the menu is ridiculous, why not have breakfast and dinner menus separate? The first half of the items on the menu are beer, wine, etc. which again at 7:00AM is bizarre. Replace this place with a Starbucks or something, we would’ve gone there to begin with in the main lobby but we were too nervous about security taking long.

Unusual Eggs at Terminal B; This place lives up to the hundreds of one star reviews. Waiter randomly disappeared from the restaurant for over 30 minutes so we could not receive the bill, food was ghastly, and our table was decorated with scraps of plastic form the last group to sit there. Everything was served on paper plates and with plastic utensils. Do yourself a favour and get a pre-made wrap or bag of chips from the newsstand instead.

What was I thinking? This is a $17 Cob Salad... And per the menu... Definitely unusual. Redeeming qualities were the awesome bartender and my cocktail... Lol. I expected better but should not have.

Instead of going to this place, walk back up towards security and check out the Farmer's Fridge vending machine. A third the price, healthy, and tastes great. Unusual Times was chaotic, overpriced, and food looked unappealing.

Absolutely horrible. Expensive af. Staff super slow and disorganized. Wait for your in-flight meal. I beg you

If there were zero stars, this place deserves it. Please save some dollars and get some food at the grab&go next door. Words cannot do justice to explain the quality of food. This goes as the worst food I have had at any airport in the world.
