Going to YMK is the best discovery and investment I’ve made for my skin in a long time. I had a lot of pigmentation all over my face so I did two two sessions of skin irregularities and the results were unbelievable. Probably about 80% of my pigmentation has faded away! I feel so much more confident about not wearing makeup and can’t stop staring at how great my skin looks. I also heard great things about the exosome with dermaplaning treatment so I did one session so far and and I see why it’s the GOAT! My skin has never looked this good. It’s glowy and supple and honestly looks like I have a filter on. Just had an appointment and thought to share my positive experiences with Yumi! I’ve seen her for a couple sessions at this time for lash lifts only and I’ve never been happier. I am a woman who has straight lashes (and short) so finding someone who understood my struggles was important. Yumi not only listened to every concern I’ve had but also has been very informative in regards to not just aftercare, but in regards to the health of my lashes as well! My main concern was having an esthetician who was transparent and Yumi would go above and beyond. At one point, she recommended me to take a break because my lashes needed more time to grow and not become “overwhelmed” with the back to back lifts. I came to see Yumi several years ago based on a recommendation from a (skincare fanatic) friend! At the risk of sounding overdramatic, it has been life changing! I'm someone who has very sensitive skin - having tried several places in Palisades Park and catching wind of YMK Aesthetics from friends on social media, I decided to take the risk and try out Yu Mi. Best risk and decision for my skin! I've been going to Yu Mi for a couple of years now, and will drive 45+ minutes just to see her- she's that good. She's honest, personable and makes every visit feel comfortable. She won't push any products or treatments unless she feels it's best for your skin and she customizes treatment based on your skin needs. My skin has cleared up since going to her, and I feel I can ask her anything about skincare and expect an honest, trustworthy answer.

I first met Yumi a few years ago when she did my wedding makeup, which was one of the highlights of my day. I was a pandemic bride, so her flexibility, communication skills, and excellent services were much appreciated. I've been meaning to visit her studio for a while, but living in NYC and lack of a car prevented me from doing so, until now! I drove an hour to see her on Saturday for a facial and it was such a relaxing and fun experience. She was very thorough, gentle, and effective (my skin felt so much love!). We discussed a skin irregularity that I've had forever, and Yumi came up with a plan on how she'll tackle it next time I visit. I really appreciated how encouraging she was when discussing my skincare routine. She took the time to listen and understand my current routine and how I can improve it. I asked her for product recommendations and she told me to use up what I have with no pressure to buy anything (of course I couldn't resist picking up a few items in her shop anyway). I truly respect Yumi and what she does because you can tell she cares about each and every client and the integrity of her business. Her ability to juggle a busy schedule, share her extensive skincare knowledge, and be so friendly and personable while interacting with you is part of what makes her so good at her craft. I was looking for a medical aesthetician near me and found Yumi. I loved her Signature facial and left with my skin feeling like freshly baked, soft glazed donut, I was glowing! :) The facial was also very relaxing with her heated treatment table and soft blankets. Yumi is very professional and made me feel at ease when trying her other treatments like medical microneedling with a follow-up visit included. Yumi was so amazing to work with! She really brings her A game and I've had the pleasure of running into her again when she's done make up for my friends' weddings. She def comes with a long list of referrals. During our initial trial, I showed her some pics of what I was looking for. Then, she guided me in finding the right color palette for my skin tone/hair color. I'm happy that we went with a slightly taupe-y color rather than a dark smokey that I originally thought I wanted. On the day of, her calm demeanor and professionalism really helped me get through the pre wedding jitters. My bridesmaids were falling behind and Yumi even gave little tips, words of advice, and lip gloss samples to the rest of the crew. I really think it was the energy that she brings that helped everyone focus.

I found Yumi through a family friend recommendation for bridal makeup. The trial was really fun (Yumi is SO sweet and easy to talk to) and Yumi understood what I wanted/looked at all my inspiration pictures. I don't wear makeup often but Yumi made me feel comfortable and also gave great advice based on her expertise how to bring out different aspects of my face with makeup. I ultimately chose Yumi because of her style and attention to detail (e.g. she plucked any and all stray eyebrows right on the spot!). I also did a dermaplanning treatment with Yumi a few days before my wedding. Leading up to it, since I lived out of state, Yumi was patient enough to answer all my questions about dermaplanning via text (she's really responsive) and make sure I felt comfortable about dermaplanning before coming to see her. The actual treatment felt AMAZING. In the middle of the treatment, Yumi also added some nose extractions to ensure my skin was completely ready for bridal makeup. This was the VERY first time (I've been getting facials for more than 10 years) that nose extractions did not hurt AT ALL. She explains everything she is doing during the process. She really cares about her brides and their skincare and this shows in her work. For the actual wedding, creating a timeline for the day-of had a few back and forths (especially to coordinate with a separate hair vendor) but as mentioned, Yumi is extremely quick and responsive via text. Yumi made me feel and look SO beautiful and natural on my wedding day (and the 2 mothers and bridesmaids!). Yumi is professional and talented. Some of my bridesmaids even booked YMK for a facial/other skincare needs post-wedding because of how much they trusted and loved YMK after she did their makeup at the wedding! Yumi was hired to do make-up for my best friends wedding. She did the bride, all her bridesmaids and the mother of the bride! A lot of work for one person, but did it. She was very professional, very sweet and she really listened to each person on preference of look and problem areas to enhance features. I personally don’t wear a lot of makeup so I prefer the less is more look. She did a great job and it looked natural. She even taught me tips and tricks on applying makeup. The bride looked gorgeous on her wedding day. We were all very pleased with how our makeup turned out. I would highly recommend working with Yumi. Hope to hire her for future events.

Like most women out there, I have been dreaming of my wedding day since the day I was born. Since my wedding day fell on my birthday, I knew i had to look FABULOUS and boy did Yumi deliver. I have worked with Yumi before (as a bridesmaid but never the bride). I knew the day I got engaged that I would need Yumi to be a part of my big day. She arrived 15 min before she said she would arrive and she managed to make my whole bridal party (6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers,1 aunt, 1 grandma & 1 bride) look absolutely stunning. Due to the large party, we had to start at 7am and finish by 2pm for first look photos. She was able to accomodate to different eye shapes, skin tones, skin types.. whatever your concern spots were, she took care of. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone in need of a makeup artist. For my wedding, I was avoiding a one-stop-shop. Everyone I known had gone that route and there's always someone who's unhappy with the outcome. I wanted a makeup artist who knew makeup and did it well. One of my best friends had gone to a wedding where Yumi had done the brides makeup and let me know that the makeup artist had done an amazing job. Naturally, I had reached out! I was able to snatch Yumi up before she was booked (there was another bride who had reached out for the same date). Let's just say everyone was beyond happy. All 6 of my bridesmaids, mother, mother in law, flower girl, and me the bride! Everyone had thanked her for her amazing work. She knew exactly what to do for everyone and considered everyone's needs. I loved the way she applied makeup. I also had a ginormous pimple near my eyebrow on my wedding day. She did her best to make sure it was well hidden. My mom still tries to mimics the way Yumi had done her makeup to this day. I'm a very particular person and wanted everything perfect. Yumi delivered. Don't wait too long to consider booking her. She's a hot commodity.

Yumi is AMAZING! My original wedding got cancelled because of the pandemic, but we had a small backyard wedding when my state reopened to allow for small outdoor gatherings. Yumi knew exactly what to do to help me feel beautiful on my wedding day. She is professional, kind, and very talented in what she does. She’s so much fun to work with, and it was such a treat to have her do my makeup.
