there is a lady who works at the reception booking appointments who talk to the patients like a machine, there is no sensation more unpleasant than you needing an appointment and having to talk to this lady, you feel terribly upset about having to use the NHS . after 6 months of trying I found out that tword: "emergency " she books the appointment. she's like a robot. We are 5 in my family, my husband Luckily got an appointment for our son with another receptionist, and the doctor was really attentive, excellent. So, I wish you the lucky of not being attended by this receptionist who always answer the phone when I call. It's a fact: One person in the crew can destroy all the hard work of the others.

Been using this GP for 6 years, thereabouts, and can say that it is like getting blood from a stone in terms of getting an appointment and have not had any positive interactions with the staff there. They only book appointments between 8.00 - 8.30 and if you get put in a queue then you might as well accept you won't get an appointment. I would agree with other comments that the reception staff do not care about your problems or needs and only deal with you between 8.00 - 8.30. Also, avoid Thursdays as they are only open until 1pm. Not sure if this is the norm for most GP's but it definitely shouldn't be. People don't stop getting ill on Thursdays. Would advise going private before using this practice.

Dr Suchak not once, but twice has insinuated that my issue is because my partner may be cheating or that my personal hygiene is bad. Surely it’s a prerequisite for doctors to have a bit more tact and compassion when dealing with potentially sensitive topics? I have been prescribed antibiotics to fix a reoccurring infection caused by an ingrowing hair that has been ongoing for years. That’s about 5 courses of antibiotics that I’ve been palmed off with opposed to actually trying ascertain the root of the issue. Today I fought for an appointment because of broken skin in a sensitive area has been causing an itch (possibly related to said antibiotics) and he prescribed me 3 months of antidepressants!!! Also if you don’t ring 0800-0801 you will not get an appointment. Absolutely disgusting service. Why do I pay into this system again? I have been told on numerous occasions that I will be given a hospital appointment but received a letter last week stating that it is unlikely they will be able to see me within the next few months. So what do I do? More antibiotics? Or should I try the antidepressants?

Rude receptionists but good G.P Most of the time have to go to walk in centre as its hard to get appointments in this busy surgery.I wonder if they have a good a solution to take burden off and treat patients with patience.

Terrible practice. Call at 8:01, for the phone lines not to open til 8:10, someone to answer at 8:30 to let you know all the appointments have gone for the day. Worst practice I have ever been too. Rude reception staff who don’t care at all. Can never get an appointment why take on new patients if you can’t cope with appointments already!!

Very lovely receptionist, they are compassionate and listened to my concerns about my daughter and partner. I have been able to get appointment as emergency There has been some issues with the phone lines but this is few and far between. The doctors I have all had take my concerns seriously and try to help as best as possible The nurses are lovely and very attentive to my daughter when she has had appts for vaccination

Yes, it can take a lot of patience :/ to get through to phone appointments, but if you must knock something, blame the booking system, not the staff. I've never found any of them anything less than professional, however harassed or busy they've been. My appreciation to everyone there.

Thank you to all the staff at this surgery. Today I used the online contact form and was contacted back immediately regarding a test I required, I was then contacted by a doctor. I now have a plan in place and advice going forward . Excellent patient communication and attention to concerns. I didn’t expect to be attended to today and am very grateful to the reception staff, general practitioners , nurses and ancillary staff at the surgery for all their hard work.

I have just spoken to a very kind & caring receptionist who worked very hard to organise a suitable & convenient appointment for my very elderly father in law. She was knowledgeable and friendly,. Thank you

I have been trying to get an appointment for my son for 3 weeks. They say to call at 8am but I end up staying on line listening to their massage " your call is very important to us" for an hour and then answer and say call back at 8am. I have given up going to doctor for my self. But I can't neglect my son. Dealing with the GP at hartshill is so frustrating.

My mind can not comprehend why there are many bad reviews with this practice. Every single doctor and nurse I have spoken to are more than perfect and are so lovely. You are all doing an absolutely incredible job. I had an appointment with a doctor and a nurse within the last 4 months and they are so funny, extremely knowledgeable and have the loveliest personalities I have ever come across! These professionals are here to help, I hope that everyone understands this. ❤️ xxx

Most horrible GP practice I had ever met. We registered with the practice but they lost my daughters documents and in few weeks she tried to make an urgent appointment but it appered that she is not registered with a GP. She had her baby early and her doctor was judgemental and unhelpful. We left the practice and surely we will never come back. I made a complaint about the practice.

The 3 occasions I have taken my young daughter to the surgery the doctors have been absolutely fantastic. Put myself and my little girl at ease and couldn't do enough to help. Can't speak highly enough of them

Wasn’t too happy with the service of my sons vaccinations. 4 months old. Previously done at another practice the vaccinations were done with care and the nurse was very patient, and we felt cared for. They didn’t rush, they had everything well prepared with the cotton wool and a plaster. Here however, it felt very rushed, nothing was prepared and because of this, they were heavily bleeding from the needle and quite a few drops of the blood ran down their legs and onto the floor. The nurse should’ve done the vaccination, applied the cotton wool, asked for us to hold pressure and then apply the plaster. Instead it was back and forth to the trolley for the wool, then back for the plaster.. awful. Poor kids.

I recently welcomed my a baby girl into the world, and the first few weeks haven’t been plain sailing. However, the support that Hartshill medical centre has given to myself and my daughter has been incredible. Dr Peake has gone above and beyond to support my daughter in the first few weeks of her life and has taken the time to check in via the surgeries text messaging service which has made all the difference to me as a new mum to feel heard and supported. The reception staff have always been friendly when I have had to ring and have quickly sorted my appointments out. She recently had her 8 week check and jabs, DR Mehta was brilliant with her explaining what he was doing and why as he went along and nurse Julie Wilkes was so supportive and explained everything when she had her injections. Myself and my husband are so grateful for the care this surgery provides and the extra time they have spent with us, yes it can be frustrating when appointments don’t run on time however, the care that the surgery are providing out ways any time spent waiting. True hero’s thank you.

I recently visited the surgery and saw one of the new doctors, Dr. A. Dickson, what a lovely bloke, explained everything, even followed up by a txt for more medication. A asset to the surgery.
