Fantastic service and meal! We got there for an early dinner and it was already packed at 5:20. No wait, just packed. The service was great! Our server, I wish I caught her name, was very attentive and personable. The deviled eggs are a must! My husband got the fried seafood plate (heaping) and I got the cobb salad with Buffalo chicken tenders. We didn't have room for dessert, but they looked delish! Thank you for the lovely service and meal.

Fantastic service, great atmosphere and the best menu I have ever seen. So many choices of things I like. We discovered this restaurant while on a mini vacation in the area. We like it so much we ate here two days in a row and if the vacation was longer would have returned for more. I especially liked the Cajun Haddock, Cajun chicken, steak tips and sweat chill wings. So delicious. The lobster roll was overflowing, mashed potatoes were my favorite vegetable. If you are in the area this is the place to eat. I hope to come back soon.

Came here with my family to celebrate my grandmother’s United States citizenship 🇺🇸. The place was beautiful and unique. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday, imagine what a weekend would be like! Lively! Their food and drinks are delicious. The restaurant definitely lived up to it’s name because it does feel like you’re on a boat. It also consist of a bar area, high tops tables, large area of dining, and plenty of restrooms. Staff were friendly as well. Definitely would go here again!

First time here and my wife and I both enjoyed our meals. Good size portions, nicely decorated on the inside and friendly service. The braised short rib was cooked well, and the cider glazed chicken was good as well. I’d skip the strawberry shortcake desert and go with something else, but other than that it was a great dinner.

Food was excellent, service amazing and reasonably priced. We celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary there and was able to book the room on their lower level. The place was packed and understand why! A must try place. Casual dining, made to feel welcome among the locals. Bless our server, she was super. Lots of patience!

We ordered the fried calamari to share and I had the clam chowder and shrimp scampi. The fried calamari (tossed With Pepperoncini Rings) was awesome. Very flavorful and crispy. The clam chowder is thin but it is FULL of clams! I actually really liked how thin it was. The shrimp scampi had fresh shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic sauce, served over linguine. The sauce was thin and watery but I loved the serving size. Next time, I am planning on getting fried seafood (a family a few tables over ordered them and it looked awesome)! Service was very kind and a pleasure to have.

Go hungry because the portions are Huge! The atmosphere alone is worth the visit, you can bring the whole family or go solo. The menu has a variety of options to inspire the pickiest eater, lol. I loved the art at the entrance and the hostess was very polite. We had the fried clams (did not care for the onion rings, very bitter great fries though), classic deviled eggs, blackened fish tacos which I will be eating for breakfast today and clam chowdah 😜

The atmosphere is amazing! And I liked the interior. However, Feb serves was not very careful. They don’t have any other tea except of a black one, which is strange. The clam chowder was really good, but I didn’t enjoy the lobster roll. Too pricy for this quality of food.

A timely little place in the middle of Essex, MA. Beautifully decorated! The menu had a lot of variety to choose from. A bit pricey, but you get a LOT of food with your order so be ready to have lots of leftovers! Friendly service and all around a fun experience.

The fried combo plate- off the dinner menu- was off the charts phenomenal. Clean oil- crisp- delicious. The salmon tower- delicious- the chicken Caesar salad was really good. Waitress was friendly and efficient. One of our favorite restaurants. The photo of the salmon tower was already half eaten! It was huge.

A favorite of mine. I love their fried clams but this time I got the Buratta salad with chicken and it was delicious. My friend got the fried fish sandwich and enjoyed it. Big portions!

Had a wonderful lunch on Wednesday the 27th of this month. Service was great, no rushing. Our waitress was so good. Cocktails were splendid, appetizers, we had onion rings, were perfect. Baked Haddock was the Best! The chef was working alone in the kitchen and produced a great meal. My hat off to him. Looking for a great place to dine. This is it! Thanks to all the staff for making the afternoon quite memorable!

Good restaurant overall. The portions are proper big - you won't be hungry for sure. We like the food that we ordered. The service is a little slow but that is expected as we were there for lunch. The price is great for the food that we ordered. I'm not sure you can get such good quality food for the amount we paid elsewhere in the greater Boston area (as well as other parts of Massachusetts).

I love this place. Great menu, great service (I typically am alone and sit at the bar) and nice atmosphere- not fancy. Gets packed at popular times. I come on weekday lunchtime. Only complaint would be that the portions are large and I don’t like taking leftovers (especially fried food) home. Prices are pretty high because of it. The photos I put up of the menu shows the increases from a year ago. Fried oysters have gone up 40%!!! I’d rather get a smaller portion and pay less. That’s why I gave overall 4 stars.

Great food! Large portions! I sat at the bar and the service was excellent! Chatted with a few strangers. Nice experience!

My server was not attentive. I had to ask others to go find her if I needed anything. There was a good sized menu with daily specials. I picked the wrong one. The chicken breast on spinach, mashed potatoes and squash was overwhelmed by a thick cheese sauce that covered everything. It was a huge mound of food covered in sauce. The individual items were OK after I scraped off the sauce. Order any sauces on the side. It had a crowded bar and a larger dining room. I would not go back. Their bread was very brown, tasteless and hard as a rock.

The servers are so friendly it must be home! The potions are filling, I'm for carrying food in my tummy and bag, my littlegals enjoyed the chef's delights the next day. This is food I'll be ordering and taking everywhere every time. Boat House food is more like for my home!

Had a great dinner last night at the bar. Laura was our bartender and was AMAZING! Very prompt with our delicious cocktails. Our meal was equally as delicious. From shrimp tacos to haddock mornay to baked combo all were scrumptious, especially scrumptious are their loaded baked potatoes! If you save half of it the next morning you can fry it up with a couple eggs!!! Portions were too big for us to eat everything in one sitting! Had a great time!!

First time after many peeps telling me how good it is. It was excellent! The food and drinks were great and the portions were big! Great atmosphere and great staff. We had party of 6 and waited only 45 minutes Saturday night. We got the fish tacos, haddock tepori or something like that, fried clams, plus beet salad, mussels, and clam chowder. All were delicious 😋 and they pour a good Guinness! Highly recommend!
