The food portion is huge and the taste is out of this world! Love the half painted portraits on the walls.

Bar staff good but dealing with to many things from the kitchen didn't have any 10 something rose wine on a Saturday afternoon at 3-30 but still a good place very hard working staff thanks Debbie

Cheap and cheerful and busy enough to have a bit of atmosphere during the day. Some seating out the front for the warmer days.

Food isn't too bad, drinks are cheap and there's a great variety. Really fun atmosphere on a Saturday night. Staff are all great 😃

Surprisingly good! Comfortable, good atmosphere, friendly staff, especially James and Carrie Anne. I wasn't expecting the food to be that good as it's so cheap. How wrong one can be. I've been back every week for the past 3 weeks and had great food every time. Taken different friends each time and all were equally impressed. Highly recommend.

Loved every minute of me being there, great looking place, lovely and very reasonably priced food, brilliant atmosphere and staff members who were just the most helpful ones I've seen in a long time, will definitely go back there again very soon with my friends for a nice catch up meal 😀😀😀😀😀

Sticky floor, dirty toilets. The staff is so poor in service, the food had to wait a very, very long time. Then the staff said they only had one cook. Friday night, one chef. Is that normal? One barman, and such queues, you had to wait two hours for your food and no one warned you about it. And the food was so bad

The service and the food are great! Lavinia makes some very nice drinks♡. 10/10 would recommend going to this pub for a meal, drinks or the amazing parties they have on weekends!

We called in on a Wednesday lunch time, not too busy so we ordered two meals and drinks. Food was nice but a bit more effort needed on appearance, drink was OK only let down was tables were sticky to the touch.

The food is good in here, but what a complete renovation and upgrade this place now needs. The decor and seating is split and very shabby. The toilets are just filthy. Toilet seats missing, no toilet rolls and all feels so grubby and dirty. To how it used to be a few years back, it's a huge let down going back

Called here for breakfast as where we normally visit was closed First impressions were very good clean not many in so we had a good choice of tables and the staff seemed very nice that's the good part now to the cooked breakfast full English although it was hot it wasn't that good the sausage was very chewy ash browns seemed to be over cooked I don't think they should be part of the breakfast as they never were they are there just to fill the plate the mushrooms seemed to be out of a bag that was frozen and very bland we noticed another Three people leaving most of their breakfast I must say the presentation was very good I know things are quite difficult at the moment but they need the customers to come back unfortunately we won't be going back.

Popped in for a warm drink & stayed for lunch. Good choice on the menu. Including light bites & small plates (these were. Mostly on subs or wrap s. I settled for scampi & chips,which I enjoyed, except scampi was a bit overcooked. But still very enjoyable & not so much on the plate it over faced me. My daughter had gammon & chips & my son all day breakfast. Both were more than happy with their meals & not much left on their plates. Everything was clean & well presented. Can recommend chocca mocha to drink had plenty of cream on the top. Lol.

my parents took our 2 daughters here the other day, both really enjoyed the food & the duty manager made them both a fantastic mocktail which they were absolutely delighted with, thank you for making them both feel special ♥️

Been for lunch today. Had a turkey and ham pie with festive vedge and roast potatoes. The pie filling wasn't too bad. The vedge was hard ( peas and carrots) then I bit into a sprout they had obviously been standing in water. The roast potatoes were inedible, they were the same colour on the inside as the outside. I did tell the waitress and she said its the first Christmas dinner of the day, it seemed more like leftovers from yesterday. I thought someone may have come to apologise but no.

Went for boxing day festive menu great value, friendly staff and would recommend that you go for a down to earth and Harty food experience.

Got ID'd going in here a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night! Age 38 haha made my night! Good range of drinks available, bot bad pricing. Good music, not too crowded when we went in. Stayed for a drink then moved on elsewhere

Had a Can of Red Stripe with a dash of lemonade. Excellent price. Nice atmosphere and professional service. The lighting in the venue was first and had no problem reading my newspaper.

Visited today Thursday.. Was greeted at the bar and asked what cask ales they had.. great choice. Ordered food which was also a nice selection.. New menu.. Food was hot and tasty. Will definitely be coming again. Thanks for such a nice lunch.

Saw online that they have had a new menu so me and a friend went to check it out. I had the katsu curry, really enjoyed it, and would recommend, props to Zoe the chef! Service was really good from Kaz and Jo, will be back sooner rather than later!

Always enjoyed a meal in here, really want to try the Yorkshire pudding wrap but it seems to be out of stock when I go :(( loads of seating, always got the sports on the TVs, staff very chatty. It’s good solid meals at decent prices

Brad and nav were amazing waiters!! Bought us over our drinks and made them lovely. So friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Quick Service and Great food. Had enough room for a pudding with the lemon sundae (not as lemony as I was dreading, it was fantastic as I wouldn't normally order one but apparently I need to be more adventurous than just gammon steak and cheesecake 🤣🤣)

James the manager on duty today at Newcastle Yates’ is absolutely lovely! Couldn’t have wanted a better manager on shift this afternoon. Not only did he make us feel welcome, he went above to accommodate us and even the dog at the table behind us. Top service today 😊
