Great shopping centre, never walked out empty handed as it always has what I need. Love taking my daughter for a shopping and pamper day she loves it. Always good Xmas decorations and the train which goes along just brilliant for the kids.

Nice big shopping centre. Plenty of shops, easy to spend the whole day there. Some areas are emptier due to shops closing down, but you'll definitely find what you need there.

The yellow mall entrance takes you to Primark and Popeye's, also there is a kids play zone with climbing shapes.

Choosing your favourite mall is a bit like asking you to choose your favourite child. However, I do have a soft spot for the yellow zone. I think it's primarily based on fond memories of Metroland. When the theme park moved I doubted I would ever go back. The cinema and extensive food options certainly helped and after a brief hiatus I have to confess yellow just might be the favourite. (Please don't tell the other malls)

Hardly any shops open. Shame cause the metrocentre used to have loads of choice. More vacant properties than occupied now. Haven't been for months and won't be in a rush to return

Parked in yellow car park walked through yellow mall to get to red mall. Out of habit always use the yellow car park wherever I go in metro centre.

Such a shame to see so many empty retail units. The centre should consider giving heavily reduced rent to smaller businesses to allow them to establish to improve footfall

I was in awe of the size of the shops in the yellow mall. All clean and bright. Great stalls while walking through area. Plenty sitting area's and information boards.

This mall was rather good, maybe almost as good as the red mall. It is in my top five favourite Metrocentre malls

I am not sure why Google lists this as the Yellow Mall, as it's just part of the MetroCentre that is one big shopping centre! I visited the MetroCentre while on holiday in the area, mainly just to see what it was like as it is listed as the UKs BIGGEST shopping centre. As soon as I arrived I parked easy as there were plenty of spaces. Parking FREE is a bonus too as it means I can explore shops for as long as I want without worrying about carpark fee's clocking up. This benefits both the visitor and the retailer's. It was good to see the use of some solar panel car ports in the carpark too! When I entered the shopping centre it looked just like any other UK shopping centre, but it wasn't very busy like many are. I was glad to see that the MetroCentre had provided proper paper maps to show the location of the shops toilets and other facilities, it was very considerate of them and the map came in handy. As for the shops, there was a good range of shops as expected, plus a Namco Fun Scape entertainment centre and climbing activity centre, which are handy if you get bored of shopping! Outside the Shopping centre were even more retail units, they were a bit of a walk away though. Considering the size of the MetroCentre I was very surprised not to see a big "central" food hall. There are plenty of food outlets scattered about, but they are not all grouped together like in some shopping centres I have visited, like Merry Hill Shopping Centre in the Midlands, which is operated by intu. In Merry Hill there is one big hall with about 20 different food outlets around its edge selling every type of food, from Fish & Chips to Chinese. Although the MetroCentre is listed as the largest shopping centre in the UK, some parts of it are like a ghost town! Absolutely full of empty unused retail units. For the FREE parking alone, the MetroCentre is well worth a visit to do your shopping though, so I totally recommend it.

Found a parking space on ground floor, wasn't too busy, always good choice of whatever your looking for. I was only wearing a thin jumper and jeans and I had to get out of loads of shops and areas as it was WAY too HOT 🔥🥵

Fantastic variety of shops, happy to see there are still places where you can try on clothes. Perfect location to get started on your Christmas shopping.

Much of a muchness same as every other shopping centre half empty shops and over the top prices and not a great choice to be truthful but then I didn't go to shop it was just a stop over while waiting on a train

The whole place is not what it once was. Lost the House of Frasier, Debenham. The restaurant are more expensive, obviously because of the times we live in. Only shops that seem to be doing well, Primark and M&S. However, we do like to walk around. .

Went specifically for the Vodafone shop. No help whatsoever. Only interested in selling me a new phone. Couldn't or wouldn't resolve the issue that I went with.

Clean, bright and warm. Nice place to shop and eat. No issues with parking. Toilets are fine and they have plenty seats around the mall.

People not taking notice of one way systems, not many people wearing masks

Not much you can say on one bit of the metro centre is there! Yellow, well it’s where the food, clip and climb and Argos is! You can’t get parked that end and it’s never that busy.

Food, Arcade and Cinema all in 1 area what's not to like.

  • 2/5 Stuart F. 2 years ago on Google
It's very disappointing to see so many people walking around the Metrocentre without masks or exposing their noses or mouths at a time that their use indoors is mandated. I estimate that approximately 40 per cent of adults could be described that way this evening.

  • 2/5 Ian W. 2 years ago on Google
Too many people NOT wearing mask, made you feel very uncomfortable, what happened to COVID restrictions. Something should be done. Not wanting to return in the near future.

So much choice! I live in Birmingham and was here on a visit. Makes the Birmingham bullring look bad.

What is was once a mall filled with various shops is now a shadow of that. The number of empty units is embarrassing, for instance the Forum is wholly empty. Shops are leaving the ground floor to move to Level 1 where the rents are cheaper. Both Debenhams and House of Fraser have of course gone. Needs a major Rethink and its no longer the number one choice for retail therapy in the north east.

  • 5/5 Danielle C. 1 year ago on Google
I actually had some me time so I headed to the Metro for some retail therapy it was quiet when I got there early but most stores were already open

Been awhile that I've been in the Metro Centre. Saturday morning, I found the yellow carpark rather full. Once in Metro Centre it was busy but nice. I was able to walk in a faster pace to get where I wanted to go.

We tend to end up in the yellow mall because it's the closest entrance to the road we come in on. It's the mall with most of the centre's restaurants, so a good place to start if you're wanting to eat, and the Odeon for movie experiences. There's almost always parking near the door on level 2 if you don't mind coming up a floor to enter. There is a variety of entertainment options on this end of the Metrocentre, but we tend to end up in HMV and Waterstones, both of which are great for browsing and open in the evenings. Then there's a little ice cream servery at Sweets Galore downstairs which stays open late, to round off the evening.

👍👍 Fantastic owner and staff, utterly accommodating and went out of their way to be helpful both in dress hunting and with the order and payments. You genuinely got the feel that finding your perfect dress was as important to them as it was to you. I had 2 girls with me looking for prom dresses and the...
