It's a beautiful beach but my daughter and myself went for a swim, got caught in a rip and nearly drowned. I saved her and then a guy there saved me. Thank God. Suppose this is why it's so secluded. Signs do say it's dangerous but dummy me didn't read them. Be aware!

An awesome hidden beach in Port Stephens. Bit of a pain to get through and be wary that the beach is unpatrolled. However, the unique mountain ranges and wide open ocean is truly a sight to behold

We were there the day after Boxing Day, and despite the fact that it was during the holiday season - this beach remained almost empty! Very surprising.. Beautiful beach!! Recommend spending a few hours there. And also short walk from the parking, for the lazy ones:)

One of my favourite beaches in Australia. Perched between two mountains it’s the perfect place to go for a swim, walk or just catch the sunrise. Over the years I’ve seen dolphins, seals, turtles, schools of fish and even a little penguin 🐧 The beach is not patrolled and the waves can get heavy at times.

Beautiful place to see the sunrise. If lucky you would see dolphins too. Don't miss out the entry to the beach is through a sharp right at the end of shoal bay road and from the parking you cross through the mountain to the East.

A definite must see if your in the Port Stephens area. Beautiful beach and surrounding scenery. We were hoping to see some dolphins but it wasn't our day unfortunately.

This beach is magical!! So natural and beautiful. Very clean sand and the water is fierce but amazing. Viewing hump back whales just added to its glory.

What a stunning empty beach! Wish I would have had more time to spend there. Bring a blanket,a book and enjoy. Compared to other beaches this one was pretty empty on a sunday mid day. A family busy playing around didn't even see the dolphins just 10 meters of shore swimming by! Parking was alright, found a spot on the upper parking lot.

Nice secluded beach, picturesque as its between two small mountains. Water was clear and clean. Waves were a bit choppy the day we went, and extremely windy. Parking can be difficult to find but we arrived late in the afternoon around 3pm as the day trippers were leaving. Beach is unpatrolled so I would not say it is family friendly.
