I have been waiting for over 3 weeks to get Hospital Admission papers from this place and I had 1 missed call which I tried on several occasions to call back but was never able to get through. They just don’t answer their phones, “ sorry we have a high volume of calls” and the phone just rings out. I have lost all my confidence with going though with the surgery at a place where I can’t even contact. Totally unacceptable. I have had many specialist dealings in the past and this is the first time I can’t get through to an office!!! So this first review was made one year ago!! I get the awaited phone call today “your hospital admission papers are here for you to pick up” lol 😂 unbelievable but true

Potential new customer, did not like initial automated phone contact,(which prompted me to read their reviews) I'm sure their business model works for them. Rang another practice, spoke to a customer focused receptionist and had an appointment organised within 3min. So easy.

I agree 100% with Lucy and Irena's experience. I thought I was the only one who felt like that. Very frustrating. I would leave a Zero Star review. I guess it only counts for the sleep study and airways check up. Dr. Stuart Mckay has Terrible communication skills. He doesn't listen to the patient, talks over and interrupts constantly. It seems like he only cares about statistics and his role as an academic publishing papers. He doesn't listen to the patient. I left the appt feeling very frustrated and with anxiety through the rooof.. I'm not going back Obvs... I'm looking or a new Sleep apnea specialist. There is one receptionist who's clearly very unhappy about working there. Cranky and making unprofessional remarks. Not a very nice environment.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr McKay and his team. Everyone is so polite and understanding. My son has had countless visits in the practice along with 3 procedures with Dr McKay and I couldn’t have been more informed and comfortable. He has always gone above and beyond to ensure I’m comfortable with what is happening. Dr McKay always takes the time to listen to my questions and concerns and answers them in a way that I can comprehend and eases any worries. The staff at reception are quick to attend to you even though they are in a busy practice, always serving with a smile! Highly recommend. I wouldn’t be anywhere else!

Doesnt answer the phone and takes weeks to reply to emails. They’ve had my referral now for 6 weeks and I still don’t have an appointment. Sat on hold for 10 minutes only for an automated message to tell me there not taking calls and then hangs up.

I was referred to Professor Mackay for his level of high expertise in the area of sleep apnea. He performed a UPPP shrinkage of tongue and reduction of Uvula few years ago. I no longer need a sleep apnea machine and can sleep alot better than before. At the time of surgery he was one of two doctors in Australia who could perform this type of surgery.

Professor Mackay is an amazing surgeon. Fantastic communicator. Took the time to build rapport with my daughter and made her feel at ease before examining and treating her last week. Professor Mackay has treated three of my children and saved my life in ED. Can’t thank him enough

Had an amazing experience with Illawarra ent seeing Dr Cox. Such a easy process all I had to do was email my referral in and they looked after the rest for me. The receptionist were incredibly helpful and kind. Not to mention all the drs were so lovely and informative.

Love team, great service from the front girls! Drs are easy to talk to! Couldn’t recommend anywhere else

Terrible service from Doctors. Receptionist very pleasant, however doctors work on triage basis. I got a call back to book 13 weeks after I emailed my referral. I missed the call and was asked to call back. When I did, the message said no facility to leave a message and to email them.Obviously I didn’t bother. In that 13 wks I had a new specialist appointment booked in Sydney. Don’t waste your time waiting for a call back. I’m due to see new specialist next week and can only hope there isn’t something seriously wrong as I’ve waited so long. Will not recommend this business.

It seems a common theme that people can't get in touch with the practice. I have called may be 20 times to pay an account with no success. Staff and doctors arr excellent in every way. Just no one wants to talk to me and I won't email my bank details. .

Five starts to Dr Daniel Cox! I can not speak highly enough of Dr Daniel Cox and his team. All reception staff and Dr Cox were so polite and understanding. I was very nervous but I couldn’t have been more comfortable. Dr Cox went above and beyond to ensure my understanding of the procedure required. Dr Cox took the time to listen to my questions and concerns and answers them in a way that I could easily understand. The staff at reception were amazing even though they are in a busy practice, always serving with a smile! Thank you to all staff at Illawarra ENT and I’m so happy to find an amazing ENT specialist!

I would like to thank Illawarra ENT clinic for there outstanding professional service that I received, especially from Dr Stephen Pearson & his surgical staff that attended on the day to operate on my sinuses etc, the outcome so far has been awesome & well worth it. Great experience (as a very nervous Mum) with my son getting his tonsils out. The doctors were thorough and very informative. The receptionists were so empathetic and went above and beyond. Will definitely recommend. Great with children and nervous parents.

My Dad Ron came in to see Dr. Pearson for cancer on his ear. Long story short, one of Dr. Pearson and Prof. MacKay's colleagues, Dr. Nick Phillips operated on Dad at the Public Hospital. Dad is 90 years young and the care and professionalism that was shown to Dad was outstanding. From the very first visit to the Practice and through to being looked after by the ENT Registrars and Doctors from the Practice and the Hospital, including all the reception staff was exceptional. Cannot recommend this practice enough. Five-star service all round. PS.... they got all the cancer too!

Great Doctors and worst secretaries in the world never answering phones. I've been here multiple times and always have the same problem!

Professor Mackay has cured me of severe sleep apnea & has improved my quality of life in doing so. I hated CPAP and thanks to him I never have to use it again. I sleep less & feel more rested. Working is easier, I've lost weight, my general & mental health have improved, my partner is happier & I highly recommend Prof Mackay & Illawarra ENT

I have had the most amazing experience with Dr Mackay. He was so supportive with my little boy. The ladies at the front desk are also so helpful with any questions. I would highly recommended.
