Alot of money for a mine camp, and then food is extra. Definitely not worth the money, mess hall is dirty, room smelt musty from never being aired out. I do not recommend

Fantastic location, facilities, staff and most of all FOOD. Where to begin with Oasis @ Newman perhaps at the reception with the friendly and professional staff team that helped with all queries and issues. Moving along the facilities are top notch as the lodging is well maintained and comfortable. And lastly to those that kept my belly full during my stay the kitchen staff are fantastic and talented. A big congratulations to both the choice of menus and quality of food with a special thanks to Mark and Tim who prepared some of the best dinners I have had at any facility for that matter. Highly recommended hotel/camp/stop located just outside of Newman.

Nothing but positive things to say about this place. The staff are the friendliest people and always greet with a smile and a good morning/good afternoon. Rooms and facilities are great. Internet/reception is subpar but they are putting things in place to try and improve it. Most importantly the food. 10/10. I look forward to dinner every night and it never disappoints. Best camp I have ever stayed at. 5 stars.

The staff are awesome and friendly and the food the best. The chefs cook 5 star meals and Mark the kitchen hand keeps both staff and customer morale high. 6 stars if I could.

Half of the area does not have internet coverage. The showers hot water of each block is connected so if anyone using hot water, it gets cold in your room.

Overnighter here in an ensuite room was great. Clean, comfortable double bed, GREAT shower. Everything the weary traveller needs. The mess was great. Good food and great selection for crib meals.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to downgrade my original rating from β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† to β˜† in the New Year 2022, sadly the place seems to have gone rapidly backwards. They've taken out the additional food display cabinets they installed in late 2021 and very little in the way of food choices now and I can only say it's become a bit like Fawlty Towers, the morning breakfast kitchen staff are loud and rude, 60% of the washing machines and dryers are out of order and just left in the laundries without being repaired looks like new management, the previous manager was doing a great job, very friendly and helpful. Overall very disappointing because I thought they'd got their act together finally and the place does has so much potential but the owners obviously only see it as a cash cow because of very little choice in Newman. OK for one night stay if you've just come or going to the airport otherwise give it a miss. Edit: They've been making a lot of improvements recently and my room though still small was clean and tidy, food is great so if they keep going the way they are I'll up my rating.

Better than expected. Great bed. The rooms are small but functional. As camps go the food here is fantastic. They are upgrading/constructing buildings around the camp and it has a lot of potential.

Get that this place is predominately a workers camp BUT come here for awesome food and you won't be disappointed! Great flavoursome range of food on the menu, pleasant & clean surroundings....lit pool looked amazing under the moonlight! The only downside was I couldn't eat ALL the food on my plate!! I suffered slightly cause I tried! Will definitely make a point of returning & worth the short drive from town πŸ‘

The Oasis camp is actually quite nice. The food is excellent, and the reception staff are always friendly and willing to assist. Unfortunately, the only thing that matters to me is Wi-Fi. I've been here several times, and the majority of the rooms facing away from the receptionΒ don't have Wi-Fi. So you're stuck in a desertΒ room with no Wi-Fi or phone service.

It was through generous assistance by the manager, great staff, good rooms and one of the best steaks I have eaten. Particularly as the tour from Perth had been scarcely gastronomic! Loved the Outback Spirit tour overall though. Ranald and Tricia Macdonald

Rooms are small like camp accommodation, but usually clean. Food has been good every time I've been there. Just outside newman, but not too far. It's decent.

Stayed for work. Average rooms, which is to be expected. Nice evening meals, though the lunch selection available in the morning was a bit lacking. I didn't starve and they have cold beer for sale at the bar. Probably one of the better places to stay.

Basic room but best camp I've stayed in in a long time for food.

It's a flash mining camp. Food was great, staff are very friendly and very accommodating! I was here for work. Not my choice of holiday destination.

Rooms are quite small but you get a double bed if you'd call it that as the length is much shorter than normal but bed comfy and clean with 2 pillows. Phone reception is horrible throughout the camp even though just outside it you get full coverage so not very good. To add to this the room wifi is a joke and when it's not cutting out every 2 seconds the speeds leave much to be desired. Only digital channels on tv so not great if your working away and want to watch sports or a movie. Food is much better than most camps in Newman though you can't seem to order like you can at most. The food bar for work food is good but very small selection but still better than most just because of the quality. Gym is very small with dodgey equipment but for a short trip will suffice unless your a gym junkie. Didn't drink ar wet mess but prices seem "average" for a camp site bit staf seemed friendly. Front reception are incredibly helpfull and have a very positive attitude. Overall a nice place to stay for a night or so but wouldn't want to be placed her to often due to the lack of most things.

Rooms have been refurbished at some point, they're standard dongas with some nice fittings and whatnot in the bathroom. Have had worse rooms, have had better. Food is pretty good, cannot pack hot food for lunch but there's a decent lunch selection each morning. Very good for meat eaters.

For the cost you can’t give more than 3 stars. Pillows need replacing, bathrooms need a good clean and food below average.

The team at Oasis really care about what they deliver. It's a great friendly camp. The food is pretty impressive

Staff went above and beyond. Our booking had failed to come through, "go and have some dinner while we contact your company". Food was very good.

Small enough to have character, big enough to need trainers to walk to and from the mess and your room if at the end of camp. Great food. Nice vibe. Friendly staff. Small store on-site. Bag storage. 5min to airport. 3rd party accommodation for Roy Hill, BHP and FMG when camps are full. ***Could probably do with another coffee machine or urn and a takeaway dinner option for those that don't want to shower and change for dinner (no PPE after 6pm). **Would be good to have security, cameras or fencing in the carparks as the locals come through on the regular to steal from work utes. *Always a washer or two not working. TV and wifi intermittent (OCT-DEC).

Was my favourite place to stay while working in Newman. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Staff are amazing. Cell Reception isn't great but free WiFi does the job. Only issue is now they don't allow you in the mess hall with hi vis? What is the reason behind this other than to inconvenience you at 6:05am and to flex a bit of power? I would assume the vast majority of patrons here would be here for work and wearing hi vis. Who is this offending so much? The lady Chef is also pretty rude as I'm assuming people are ignoring this clearly silly request and she is the one who has proposed it and decided to enforce it? The Male chef from last night was next level and so was the pineapple brisket and lamb chips.

Service staff all welcoming and friendly. Provided dining options are the best part, they really put the effort in to please guests. Rooms are decent and functional. Had an issue with the shower and it was resolved on the same day. Keep up the good work!

This one is one of the nicest places that you can get accommodation in the area. Clean, good customer service and professional staff.

The mess is great food is amazing and the Fijians girls on front Γ§ounter are exceptional, The managers need a wake up call they clean rooms at unconventional times don't care that people are on night shift , and have caught on several times the way they talk to thier staff ,

Clean , great facilities such as pool , gym and rec room with pool table and darts. The food is awesome, lots of variety and chefs that care. Stayed for 14 days as FIFO worker , I’m really fussy and this accomodation is one important point that makes me want to come back to work. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us 😊

Don’t be fooled by the four star rating. This is a fifo mining camp and the pictures don’t live up to the reality. Room was clean but mouldy bathroom and very noisy at night due to workers coming and going. Wouldn’t stay here again

  • 3/5 David N. 2 years ago on Google
Not a bad camp really, food was slightly above average for a mining camp. Rooms were clean and tidy although a little plain and on the smaller side. Beds are comfy, get two new pillows which is a bonus, and linen was new. All things considered it's good for mining standards, they provide the basics and genuinely make an effort to be polite and be helpful.

As mining camps go, since the upgrades it's definitely one of the better ones. New upgraded gym, food is always good here. Crib selection fantastic and wifi actually works now lol.

Stayed here for work, as a mining camp it’s the best I’ve stayed at. Rooms are good, food is great, dining is good. It’s a nice friendly vibe. Gym is pretty good

Oasis is a well-run motel that tends to serve the needs of workers in the region rather than holiday makers. It does this well, with friendly and prompt service, well maintained rooms and high quality meals. It is worth noting that you might want to bring clothing other than high vis work clothing in order to eat dinner and regular meal times. If you only have high vis clothing then some accommodation for this can be made particularly if you are prepared to take meals early. I'm returning after ten months, choosing the Oasis over the other options in town. Oh, and did I mention that they have a bar?
