Amazing spot for fresh fish and chips! The fish was crispy and the fries were perfect. The service was great as well. 10/10 would come here again!

My girlfriend knew that I love authentic fish and chips so she took me on my birthday to this fantastic spot where we had never been before. We tried both the haddock and halibut, and I was blown away with how good it was. The portion sizes were very generous with huge, tender and lightly battered pieces of fish paired with a mountain of freshly cut fries, served with some delicious in house tartar sauce. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t skimp on the tartar, but they gave us plenty without hesitation. I do not eat a lot of salt in my food and they were able to compensate me by making my fish and fries without salt and it still tasted amazing. The service was top-notch. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed. We met the owner, who was very welcoming and he took the time to chat with us. The restaurant itself was spotless, from the dining area to the restrooms, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. All in all, this was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be coming back. There really needs to be more fish and chips places like this where the quality, service, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly! The pictures don’t do justice!

Absolutely loved my experience at Chip+Malt! I had the Halibut + Chips and the Calamari, and seriously, both were next level. The halibut was so fresh and flaky, wrapped in this light, crispy batter that was just perfect — not heavy at all. The chips? Golden, crunchy, and totally addictive. The calamari was a total highlight too — super tender and not rubbery at all, with just the right amount of seasoning. The vibe in the restaurant was cozy and fun, and the staff were awesome — super friendly and on point with the service. Definitely a 5-star spot. Can’t wait to come back!

We were really up for some fish and chips and we were not disappointed with this place! Delicious food, very generous portions and the staff and server were great! Ordered the deep fried pickles (prickles) and two orders of haddock and chips. The fish was tasty and perfect amount of batter, and the fries are exactly what you would expect from a traditional fish and chips spot.

The service and atmosphere of the restaurant we're excellent. The fish and chips were ok, the batter was on the thick side which made it hard to taste the fish and I wouldn't recommend the calamari. If you're looking to go out and eat fish and chips in a nice place I would recommend going here but not for takeout.

The fish and chips both are wonderfully prepared. The batter isn't excessive and compliments the texture and flavour of the fish in a way that I personally really enjoy coming back for. The chips are somewhat thick-cut, and have a sort of mash texture inside. The sides are also 10/10. We always enjoy the service here too. Robin takes great care in making sure we have everything we need for our meal. I recommend visiting Chip+Malt for a relaxing atmosphere and comforting food :)

Our first time eating at this restaurant, we were looking for authentic fish and chips and I must say it didn't disappoint, the batter was thin the French fries were hand cut and what I appreciated the most is that it was not oily. We had the halibut and fries which came with coleslaw and tartar sauce the servings are huge. They have draft beers from Old Flame brewery or bottled and canned Coors light, Stella Artois etc, wine by the glass or half a litre plus fountain drinks, juices and barista coffees. There is a variety of starters such as garlic cheese toast, various salads also clam chowder soup and hamburgers. Very Kid and wheelchair friendly. There are servers as well as a take out counter.
