I queued up at 7:45 this morning and at 8am the receptionist told everyone that there were only 4 appointments available. The only reason I queued up was because you can never get through on the phone. When you see a doctor they seem OK but my wife and I will be changing surgery at the end of the month because of this unacceptable appointment system. We both work full time too starting work before 730am which makes it very difficult to call at 8am. We registered here when we moved house 6 months ago, our previous surgery also had 12k patients and the appointment system was far better managed. The reception also needs more than one person or at least some back up from the back office when a queue forms. We had high hopes when we joined this surgery due to its CQC rating, we have been nothing but disappointed.

You are scraping the barrel if you register with this doctor's surgery. When you phone the reception staff, they act aggressively towards you and question your integrity, when all you want is a 10 minute appointment to see a doctor. One receptionist berated me for not phoning up in the morning when I was unable to, as I was too ill to leave my bed. I phoned at 2pm which for some reason or another seemed a real inconvenience to her. Maybe she was having a bad day. Who knows. They begrudge giving you prescriptions and you have to lay it on with a trowel if you want medication. Also their website is not responsive and the homepage is very messy and who ever created it really needs to consider user experience design.

I signed up to this medical centre when I moved to the area 18 months ago. On two the last three occasions the reception team have managed to make mistakes when booking appointments. On both occasions the appointment was confirmed with me on the phone, only for me to arrive for the appointment and find that either it was not booked at all, or it was booked for the following month instead. The remarkable thing is their ability to make you feel that it was your own fault, despite having the confirmation info to hand.

Doctors are great WHEN you get an appointment. This appointment system needs to change. People have to take time off work to go to an appointment. This is so a practical. Plus you need to go in at 8am and queue at the door, yes queue at the door like you are begging. At the reception you are asked about why are you there!! So you need to discuss your medical condition with the receptionist, ridiculous. Have no idea how CQC rated this Surgery. Again doctors are very good when you have the chance to talk to one.

I have been with this GP since I was a baby and it was brilliant 10 years ago but has got poorer every year. Now it's unbearable but I'm stuck with them. Apart from two incidents a while back and this nurse has definitely gone now the doctors are usually very polite and empathetic. The building is very modern and homely. But it's mainly the whole way the place works is awful. 1st incident was being rejected for a prescription as the nurse claimed I was apparently pregnant with refusal of test or evidence to back her assumption. 2nd was requesting a simple note to be exempt from heavy lifting at work and ending up almost getting signed off for 6 months which then consumed my whole day to get rectified. Just down to lack of listening. I had to argue for 8 years that something's not normally only to be prodded and vaguely diagnosed with a condition after a simple poke about. Waited 6 years for a blood test result but was never told that it was down to me to call for results. Good thing I'm clear. Their dermatologist at the time (2012) was either having an off day or didn't bknow the difference between an obvious birthmark and mole. Many times I have been told one thing by a trained GP, then the receptionist (not trained) won't comply and basically take my issue into their own desgression. I'm sure some notes and details are missing on my file too. Been explicitly told that appointments need to be made on the day at 8am to get one. They do not take advance. Which normally means constantly fighting with everyone else for a phone line for 10-45 minutes. Then it's pot luck if they have any spaces. And not to forget the many occasions that I've had to wait 40+ minutes after my scheduled appointment to be seen. Finally, despite needing a pescription for my pills that I can't acquire without a checkup by a GP (been told that). I have luckily been able to get a month to keep me going with no check over as they are apparently filled up today (8:10am) and tomorrow (but we can't make advance appointments apparently). And I now have a month advance appointment. It's clear the communication between the staff is poor and the "rules" are not clear. So if you sign up to this GP. Book the day off work, prepare for stress, don't expect anything solved quickly, be ready to be judged by the receptionists, locate your redial button on your phone. If you can solve it yourself you may as well and save yourself the tonne of hassle. Edit: Dropping it to 1* from 2*. They "lost" my prescription that day but magically "found" a slot for the same day after I kicked off and told them how they kept giving me grief. So once again my day has been taken up getting messed about. They said they'd cancel my month in advance appointment now they've managed to perform that little miracle. Nope, got a letter basically complaining that I was a "no show" for that appointment and that I "should ring to cancel my appointment as other patients could've been seen" and I will now have a black mark on my record. Well if the staff actually pulled their heads out of their backsides and stopped pretending to be doctors and canceled it like they said then yeah, someone else could've had it. Rang again... And again... And again as I'm being kept up all night in pain. 20minutes later there are no appointments, no suprise. <<<<Nobody should ever get upset, anxious and stressed over simply ringing their GP for things like a simple check over to get their medication as protocol.>>>>

Doctors are great. Reception are unhelpful even down right awkward. I called for an appointment for my son who was really ill. Told me that they were full all day and I should use the walkin centre. My wife called and got an an appointment! They fob you off to the walkin centre as much as they can. You can never get through by phone and by the time you do there is no appointments anyway. When you really need medical attention your going to wish you weren't registered here.

I agree with everybody else, receptionists are rude. I am pregnant women, not well with not well child, but they don't care!!! Impossible to get an appointment!!!! Booking system is against pregnant women, women with children, who are unable to go there in the morning and queue for an appointment, line is always busy. Sad, very sad and shocking!!!! Booking system should be changed, receptionists trained again, and priority should be for pregnant women !!!! Shocking!!!! Awful medical centre, receptionists are the worst, as some doctors are not bad.

I have never known it be so hard to book an appointment with your doctor. They only book appointments for that day so the only way to book is to call them at 8 in the morning (whilst everyone else is attempting to book their appointment) So the line is busy and I'm still waiting to get through the 'line busy' status as they do not place you in a queue, you have to keep hitting that call button for the same message up until 9am and then there's no spaces for that day.... This happens every time I attempt to book an appointment. The fact I can't book in advance for say next week is so unpractical and I can not wait to move doctors and get away from this mess of a procedure. Oh and times are Mon-Fri 8-5:30... so in the past when I have actually managed to grasp an appointment I HAD to have time off work as the hours and days were business hours.... so unpractical.

This surgery used to be excellent but now it's below par. sometimes you can't get through to anyone; the phone ring on and on without being answered, impotant referrals don't get sent to patients or outcome meant to update patients about a query. There's a lot of hanging up on patients from receptionists and when you call again you're queued for about 20 minutes +. There should be -☆ (minus star) on the ratings which would reflect the service received from WMC. On the positive, they have a few very good doctors.
