Had a lovely night's stay here at the Hall. The service was amazing and the staff were friendly. The grounds and the gardens are really nice and peaceful and the actual Hall and surrounding buildings are kept well considering their age. Breakfast was nice too. I would totally recommend this place for a nice place to stay. They also cater for parties, weddings and they have meeting rooms too. Keeping up with the times they also have EV charging points for electric car users. All in all a great little place to visit.

My family and I had an unpleasant experience at this hotel. We only stayed for one night, but it was enough to see that the outside appearance was misleading. The staff is friendly but unorganized. Unfortunately, on the day we arrived, there was a small wedding reception taking place. When my wife attempted to order dinner, she was informed that they couldn't fulfil her order due to the wedding. It took a serious conversation with the general manager to finally get food for our toddler. Our tiny room, which they call a "couple room," was barely big enough to fit us, very hot room with a very old tower fan, no telephone to contact reception and the towels heat was on and couldn't be turned off. The reservation was for two adults plus a child. To make matters worse, we were not allowed to eat at the bar because it was reserved for wedding guests. Despite the hotel allowing other guests to book rooms, we were not allowed to dine, yet they charged us the same as everyone else. Eventually, we were able to eat in another room, but the breakfast was a complete disappointment. The hotel claims to be 4 stars, but the breakfast was not even up to the standard of a negative-star hotel. They have the courage to serve instant coffee and dry scrambled eggs were appalling, and the selection was extremely limited. All in all, this was a terrible hotel experience, do not stay in this hotel.

We went here for a night away. It looked amazing on the website and a place for a treat. Unfortunately, the room was tiny and the bathroom very small. There were stains over the walls and the bathroom was dirty. There was no lighting in the corridor or outside of the building which was a danger. When we went for dinner there was very little lighting and so dark the staff moved us into the foyer where there were tables set up for dinner we also carried our own table. It's not worth the money and the rooms are expensive. It is such a grand place that was a total disappointment, we won't be returning. On the plus side, the staff were lovely and very accommodating and the food nice.

Wow! Absolutely loved it. Staff were great, room was comfortable and clean, it is an old building so its to be expected if rooms are a bit dark but nonetheless lovely. The grounds are amazing to go for a walk! Definitely more than I expected

It looks lovely from the outside. But don't be fooled by the fake 5 star reviews. This place is terrible. We changed rooms both rooms had no heating at all, faulty plugs, broken toilets, drab rooms that need renovation or knocking down. The staff were awful and ignored us for the whole time we were there and couldn't care less. Check out was just us throwing a key on a table as no one was there. It's an overpriced hostel complete rip off. It has potential, but there has been zero effort to maintain the original building. Awful awful awful complete rip off save your money go anywhere else.

We had friends travelling from overseas and stayed here for two nights. Great location. Very impressive. Really nice food, but you may want to turn the lights on in the dining room as nobody could see the menu.

Afternoon Tea. We were disappointed & did not feel this was good value for money. Sandwiches lacked filling & were quite tasteless. Cakes were all extremely sweet & the scones were small & dense - I was unable to eat mine. No butter with scones. Staff not visible & had to seek them out to request more tea. On a positive note the choice of tea was good & we enjoyed this aspect of the visit.

After a horrendous encounter at the Holiday Inn off the M1 junction.. booking agent secured me a room at this hidden Gem. Let me tell you all about my Two day visit to Chicheley Hall. I arrived here after 4pm to be met with a lovely welcome from the reception, who checked me in and helped me to my room in the main House (The Manor). The room was located on the second floor. I am a sucker for a historic home and I felt a peace whilst traveling up the stair case to the second floor. I was allocated the Bohr room. Walking into the room I was in love. Lovely spacious with the view of then garden and lake… (pictures don’t do it justice) The walls a filled with lovely portraits. The dining hall was beautiful and had my first night meal there I had the Chicken with Truffle Chips. After dinner I returned to my room and enjoyed a comfy bed, after a hot shower. The break is made to order so it’s hot and delicious with a continental options too. Second night I had my dinner in the peacock restaurant and again lovely room good deco and lovely staff. I had the burger and truffle chips. The Hotel lovely and I had the best time there even though it was a work trip I felt relaxed. The hotel is also a 12 minute drive to David Lloyd so I managed to squeeze in a woke out as well. I would highly recommend this place for a quiet get away and if you planning a wedding this is the place to host it. Service - 4/5 Location - 5/5 Food - 3.5/5 Room - 4/5 Overall 5/5 for everything combine in terms of experience. I will stay again

We came to Chicheley hall for a meal and night stay to celebrate our 10year anniversary. We have been here before but we noticed it was under new management. While we have always had positive experiences here this occasion was extra special and we were amazed at how much care and attention had been made to take care of the grounds. The team also provided us a surprise bouquet and desert when we came to our room - totally unexpected but highly appreciated - a huge thank you to all at Chicheley Hall for a memorable experience!

This is a beautiful property hotel in just fabulous settings. The staff are outrageously good. Friendly and helpful to the n'th degree! Some of the hotel is a bit tired around the edges and there are clearly not enough staff to deal with busy periods (same across all hospitality). Would be worth investing in some blackout blinds for the rooms as the current situation is not good if you wake up when the sun comes streaming through. Will definitely book here again!

Had a lovely stay and what a beautiful and tranquil place. Checked in after 11pm and the team were very welcoming and I wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed breakfast - it smelt delicious!

Elegant hotel with great restaurant & bar. Good service overall. Large rooms with curiosities. Mine had no phone, no closet or coathangers. Also panoramic views over the grounds let down by filthy windows!!

Stunning old manor house in beautiful grounds. It's a great setting but as a hotel there were issues. I booked a single room and it reminded me of visiting Nelson Mandela's prison cell on Robben Island. The single bed was awful. Only 1 pillow was provided. Despite the very warm weather the radiators were on full and I hadn't realised it until I wondered why I couldn't sleep because I was so hot. TV is tiny and needs upgrading. So it's a lovely setting and maybe the bigger rooms are better but I wouldn't book a single.

A very disappointing experience. I booked an afternoon tea for a special occasion, and pre-paid as requested by the hotel. We arrived on time, our booking acknowledged and shown to our table. We had preordered and prepaid for 2 afternoon teas, and ordered some lighter food for our 2 small children. Drinks arrived, and then the wait started. It took 1h15m for our pre-ordered food to arrive. During that time, the waiting staff didn’t proactively share any information about the expected wait, react appropriately to our requests for updates and failed to bring more drinks as requested multiple times. Typically afternoon teas are prepared in advance, especially when pre-ordered. We essentially had to wait for the cakes to be made from scratch. When our food arrived, it was not as described on the menu. I made my complaint to the shift manager, she acknowledged the shortcomings, refunded my pre-payment and offered a complimentary return visit. I was told the general manager would be in touch to apologise and arrange the complementary return visit. No contact was made, so after a week I emailed. The general manager called me, to inform that the shift manager did not have the authority to offer a complementary return visit, and so that would not be honoured. I asked if the general manager had the authority and would like to make the offer, and she said her best offer was a glass of Prosecco if we were to return and pay for another afternoon tea. Truly terrible from start to end. We didn’t return!

Nice stately building and grounds for a lovely afternoon tea. Could have had table cloths and tea cups/saucers didnt match although full white. A few savory canapés would have been nice with finger sandwiches for variety on savory and bigger jam and cream if in a group. Service is very good, very attentive, pleasant, nice hospitality and lovely surroundings

The staff were lovely - friendly and helpful, we were upgraded to the bridal suite which was massive - about 6m x 7m! Unfortunately it was freezing cold and the heating was not working, so we went to bed fully dressed! The bed itself was enormous and very comfy. I imagine the property must be owned by a hedge fund or similar, they certainly don't like spending too much on maintenance, as was evidenced by the poor state generally of the building structure. Before retirement I was a surveyor. Also the lighting in the room was abysmal - a bedside table lamp either side of the bed, only one of which worked - no other lighting. Their prices were only just above Premier Inn's which makes me think they are not doing so well and have had to reduce their prices in order to attract customers. We did not eat there as the food was extremely expensive so I cannot comment on it. The car park was gravel and full of large potholes (and so water), and the entrance ramp a nd doorstep were quite hazardous.

I mean the grounds are just astonishing. Whether you are fancy a walk or just sit in the garden. If I wouldn't be local I would stay in this place every time I visit
