This local charming pub exudes character and warmth, making it a standout gem on Stony. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, creating a place where you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The pub's unique charm, combined with the affable service, makes it a top choice for those seeking a genuine and enjoyable pub experience. Cheers to a spot that truly understands the art of hospitality!

Friendly staff, high street pub with cosy front bar and more seat in rear room toilets on 1st floor, don't know connect with carry on films but signed memorabilia in front bar along with some vintage local history. Definitely pop in again as I love old fashioned hospitality feels welcoming. Thanks

The old george hotel. Well this is a odd place. But in a very good way. It is one of the only pubs I have been into recently that is always busy. Lovely bar staff and good ale, the food was really nice but you can't eat on a Monday or Tuesday (odd). It as a building is full of character but do mind your head. It has a fair few rooms for accomodation which consists of inside the pub and a annex to the rear. Now this is where I drop one star for the rooms. The rear rooms were grand we booked 3 rooms for working away. The room I had above the bar was not bad but the outside lights couldn't be blocked by the curtains and lit the inside of the room. The shower room you could do with some work as you could smell the drains. The other 2 rooms were fantastic with no complaints. 1 room out of I think 15 with issues isn't to bad going. The old george hotel is worth a stay if you are in the area. A enjoyable stay and would stay again

We experienced a “perfectly traditional”Sunday Roast, the portion size was spot on with the option of additional sides for those with a larger appetite, the staff here are always warm, friendly, welcoming and attentive to people’s needs. The settings are homely, modern and spacious so ideal for families and slightly larger groups parties. Highly recommended

We had a lovely time at Old George Friday night, they had the Bingo( music) on and we really enjoyed it, the cash prizes were amazing too. The music was fun and there was a lovely atmosphere. Everyone was friendly.

Had one of the outside rooms. Lovely shower/wet room. Room smelt of cigarette smoke due to the smoking area of the bar/restaurant of the pub being close by. Bed comfortable. Room hot and couldn't open window at night due to the smell of cigarettes outside. Was ok to open window in the morning as smell of smoke not so strong. Had a good band in the pub on Saturday night. Breakfast not served at the hotel.

Lovely traditional pub with loads of history. Staff were great during check in and parking was right outside on the street. Food was lovely and piping hot, portions were good. The rooms were small but they have some of the best quality sheets I've slept on, very soft and comfortable!
