This cafe is next to Nandos and opposite the market. Most times I go, it's almost empty which is a surprise because their bacon baguettes (actually I think they're Ciabattas) are wonderful and they serve nice tea as well. The people who work there are all very friendly so on the whole it's somewhere I enjoy, and it's such good value for money

After reading the reviews I decided to try the River Cafe and was so glad that I did. I went for a Full English and it was done to perfection and served quickly. Prices are surprisingly reasonable given the location in terms of being situated in the town centre. The cafe is modern and we'll presented and in keeping with the area. I was served by a very friendly lady who was attentive and accommodating. Would I go back?; definitely. Well done the River Cafe.

Decided on brunch with wifey. Cafe is very clean tidy well presented and has some lovely art on the walls. Now to the important part, the food. I had the special breakfast plus mushrooms. It was very very tasty. Definitely recommend coming for a bite if your about Bedford Town. Thanks River cafe for brunch!

Really not happy. They are displaying coffee at one price and charge more. Coffee on menu £1.90 and they charge you £2.20. This fuels cost of living crisis and is a underhand way of going about it. This is not acceptable. I go almost every week. That is one regular customer they have now lost.overpriced.

Dropped in by chance with friends for a cuppa and it was great - the staff were friendly, the cafe itself is lovely and clean and the tea wasn't overpriced. Food looked good too, especially the cakes (which looked homemade). Great place, will definitely revisit!

Stayed in a nearby hotel and used the cafe for breakfast, breakfast was half the price of the hotel and much better quality, give it a try.

Friendly staff member. Food was very good. Unfortunately the restaurant had no air-conditioning and was very hot inside.

Portions are enormous and the food is extremely tasty. Service is quick, efficient and friendly.

Michelle & Barney were a lovely couple running a local family run cafe. The were friendly and presented a welcoming service. The breakfast was value for money and very tasty, the cafe was very clean and the photos on the walls were from her parents who run a photo printing service few doors away. We will revisit River Cafe again in Bedford next time we are there & will recommend to my friends & family. Raj and Nicky
