I came to the Melbourne arm clinic because my shoulder was hurting when doing things like throwing a tennis ball. I had slap tear surgery and 8 months later I am in more pain than i was prior to surgery. Recent mri shows I now have arthritis which was not present in the mri prior to surgery. Mr. Garewal’s follow up is that I should seek pain management as a treatment for dealing with my shoulder. I can no longer drive, work or turn on a light switch comfortably and this is 8 months after surgery when I was told that I will have a performing shoulder after surgery. It was an expensive surgery and has put me in a worse situation than what I was in prior to meeting with Mr Garewal. I would recommend considering other surgeons than the Melbourne arm clinic.

I had the worst experience with this clinic and Mr Garewal. After 3 years and 2 surgeries plus spending thousands of dollars, he couldn't fix my shoulder, and every time he mentioned that "I've done my job"! I pushed myself with exercises and physio, but no luck. My arm is still in pain after 2 surgeries and 3 years time! Now, even I have to find a surgeon for my other shoulder because of compensating too much. There was no care or follow-up despite bleeding and complications after the surgery. I definitely do not recommend this clinic and surgeon.

My sports Doctor sent Melbourne Arm Clinic a referral for me to get a 2nd opinion regarding my recovery program from a shoulder injury. The clinic only takes 1 patient who doesn't have private health insurance per week so the wait time would be 4+ months. When I asked what the difference between my money and the money from a PHI provider was they dodged the question and just said that I wouldn't be able to afford surgery so they didn't want to allocate more than 1 appointment per week for non insured patients. I told them that surgery wasn't on the cards to begin with (I guess this is where they make the big bucks though) and that I'm just seeking an opinion for my exercise program; as outlined in my referral letter. They said I'll have to wait 4 months because I don't have PHI. Pretty clear from this experience that their primary concern is how much money they can milk out of you and not the health and recovery of the patients being referred.

I came to the Melbourne Arm Clinic and saw Mr. Mammen. Overall experience easily summed up as superb! I was struggling with tenosynovitis of my wrist for months and had prompt review and treatment. The whole team were excellent to deal with, respectful and polite throughout the whole process. Following a quick recovery, I was back to work. A big thanks to Mr. Mammen and his team at MAC.

After a fall at work and 6-months of deterioration it was determined by MRI I had a damaged rotor cuff and bicep. I was referred to Mr Devinder Garewall who unlike many surgeons travels to Country Victoria to help regional patients. MAC and Devinder got me in for an operation within 6-weeks of first seeing him. Having not done this injury before and later needing a second surgery 12-months on, my shoulder is usable again. The MAC team and Devinder & Chris' service was outstanding, thoughtful and explanative. The result is what it is and I am grateful to be able to continue to utilise my shoulder to play music.

Devinder is amazing he did the most fantastic reverse shoulder replacement surgery for me and now after 8 weeks I feel so so good, also the healing process and stiches are almost gone, I recommend Devinder to anyone who needs a shoulder surgery, if you want a hollywood style surgery he is your man, MANY THANKS DEVINDER
