Beautiful lake - for walking around, swimming, kayaking... We stayed in an airbnb on the lake, and had dinners on the lake - all beautiful views. The waters are calm enough (went in December) for canoeing, saw some points where people were swimming. There's a bridge that 'divides' the lake in 2 parts - walking around takes about 20-25 minutes each part at an easy pace. Can see the Lakehouse, visit the Wombat Flats mineral springs and park en route. Paved and well formed paths for prams and wheelchairs as well as leisurely walkers and joggers. Greenery coverage in some parts, direct sunlight in others with information panels about its history along the way.

This is must visit place in Victoria. It is just a 1 and half hour drive from Melbourne and you will find this amazing place. I visited there 6 am in the morning and the view was just amazing. You can bring your dog too. There is a 40 min walking trail and you can enjoy the beautiful nature while taking that walk. I recommend to visit here early in the morning so you can see amazing sun rise and have a morning walk. This is one of the magical walk I took. I visited here on Friday and early morning so there were only few residents who came for walk. And also you can see many birds near the lake

Simply beautiful even on a rainy day. The Autumn leaves of red an gold created a breathtaking atmosphere. The amenities around the lake and car park makes this a pleasant picnic spot. Take the time to look around. Plan ahead and enjoy.

We went to the lake on a sunny and the views were amazing. A great place for a picnic with nearby parks with BBQ facilities. Kids had fun watching ducks. Walking trail around the lake was amazing. There was a night light show going on that moment so if you are reading this go and have a look. Be careful in the drive as the road was bit bumpy.

Very nice place to walk, I suggest to park at the car park near the restaurant, there are playgrounds and public toilets. The public toilet further near the bridge was full of ants on the wall, which I don’t recommend to use… Overall, it was a great walk to relax :)

This lake is stunning and beautiful. Great walk and such a nice length walk not too long and perfect for all ages. There is lots to view and scenery during the walk, lots of places to rest and take pictures with a mineral spring where you can taste the mineral water which is pretty interesting.

What a fantastic place for a stroll. Lots of walking tracks and informative boards to read on your way around. It also has a cute little coffee shop by the lake to warm the soul

We were there booked for 6:30 show an opted or a shuttle service to the lake since we know there is very little car parking at Daylesford Lake. We thought we’d come early so we can have early diner and perhaps wander around town but was too cold so we decided to eat in a restaurant. But it was still early so we drove to the lake an found plenty of car parking so we just stayed there and didn’t take the shuttle anymore. Queued up at 6:15 and we could see the walking path light up with blue and trees well lit as well. Very excited to see the Borealis Lights, which was a pretend aurora borealis, one that you see in Ireland, Sweden or Greenland. It was made of smoke blown by fog machines (I guess) that of course were hidden cleverly and spread out to create a mantle of made up clouds and hit by beaming lights strategically positioned to create a perfect aurora borealis. Very romantic indeed! A wholesome event. There was also a food truck that sells light snacks and a coffee stand on the other side. Very cold 5 degrees temp but we have blankets and so as our pets! We were there until 8:30 with our picnic mats and snacks and food. Enjoyed it! Love it!

Beautiful lake by the side of botanical gardens. The lake so big it's hard to tell if you are near the ocean or a lake on windy day.

  • 5/5 Masi H. 10 months ago on Google
If you're after something mind-blowing, head to Lake Daylesford for their aurora projections. It's a fusion of technology and art that creates an amazing display of light and color. It's a stunning showcase of advanced tech used to create something beautiful. Trust me, you won't regret seeing it.

Idyllic lake, great for a stroll with the family. There are a few circuit options depending on the length you want and all paths are accessible and wheelchair friendly. The parking gets quite full closer to noon and the barbecues get booked up on the weekend so plan accordingly! Would recommend a stopover on the jetty for the best view.

Lake Daylesford is a spectacular place to come and relax watching the mirror like Lake in all its serenity. We enjoyed the brilliant autumn colours and the sunset at Lake Daylesford. There is a restaurant on one side and a pleasant long walk around the lake. Location is awesome during autumn season and is a feast for the eyes. We also visited at night for the artificial Aurora Borealis show and the views were spectacular Overall a great spot an hour and a bit away from Melbourne

Worth a visit every season! The lake is beautiful and clean, with what appears to be a balanced wildlife as well. The walk around both lakes is very enjoyable and easy enough for all fitness levels

Great walk! The path starts from many spots which have parking and easy access. Quite flat so good for most people. Is about 4km or 45min easy walk. Lots of nice views and stops to sit and enjoy the nature.

Beautiful lake...and lovely place to spend with family and kids. The roads are clear to reach there like no risky path on the way. One can enjoy boating and scenes of nature including ducks, peacocks, lotus flowers which i loved the most. Will visit this place more often . Very relaxing spot.

A scenic looking lake that's perfect for a picnic. Take a trip to one of Daylesford's stores selling tasty, locally-sourced food. Stock up, then take a 5 minute drive from the centre of town to the lake. There's no place more relaxing than this spot. If picnics aren't your thing then there are quality cafes and restaurants nearby.

Perfect location for a romantic walk in the afternoon or evening and/or a picnic by the water under a tree. It truely is so beautiful and calming. It was a hot day when we went but it’s big enough to handle a lot of visitors and you don’t feel cramped and the huge trees offer relief with a breeze from the lake to keep you cool

Absolutely beautiful place! I went expecting to stay for maybe 10 minutes with the kids having a quick look but we stayed for over 2 hours! Had a walk around the whole lake, had some icecream at the cafe and managed to have a swim even though we didn't togs because we didn't expect to be swimming lol. So worth the trip and I imagine we will be back in the future! Perfect for all ages! Little walk in beachy spot and then there's spots all around the lake for jumping off and swimming. Great for distancing as there's plenty of lake to spread out.

An amazing man-made lake; originally a gold digging site. The surrounding flora and fauna had adapted to it creating an ecosystem in itself. Should be a wonderful jogging site around the lake, a rejuvenating place even just to sit around untangling ourselves.

My favourite place to visit, the lake is so pretty, it's such a great atmosphere. There's so much space that even when it's busy there's still plenty of space to have a quiet spot. The location is dog friendly (dogs must be on leash, in these photos my dog IS on lead, it's just been photoshopped out) and has many bins and poo bag dispensers around the lake. There's lots of bird life around and if you look carefully you can see turtles in the lake too

Picturesque and popular circuit walk. Larger lake takes about 20 minutes to walk around, smaller lake takes about 15 to walk around. Sometimes people fish there, apparently there is trout. Not sure how successful they are. Cafes haven't been open for ages due to Covid19.
