Salads are getting smaller, schnitzels are getting smaller. Chicken schnitzel was a bit greasy. Highbury is one of the most expensive in the area and needs to lift it’s quality. Went 1 month later than first review and things were slightly better, went 2 months later and things were even worse than the first review, gravy like water and salad bowl half full again. Won’t be back.

Went there for lunch, I had the seafood duo. Boy I was impressed with the seafood, it was fresh & beautifully cooked. The salad was nice & fresh. The fries were beautifully done, but unfortunately they were a a bit over salted. The staff were very nice, friendly & helpful.

Nice atmosphere with great views,food and service. Seafood 🍤🦞 bucket with salad and chips were shared with two of us.

The food is below the standard of all hotels nearby. Unfortunately tasteless and something you would have been served in an 90”s pub. The Pimms jug also only Pimms, mostly ice and soda water without any ginger ale and fruit - strange. It’s also loud even though it was mostly empty, too open with no acoustic treatment and cold a/c blowing on you. The staff were lovely and helpful, they deserve to feel proud of what they are serving up. Do better for them and us locals.

Came here for a birthday lunch today, and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of service from all of the floor staff (especially since I asked to switch tables because I was cold and I know that can be painful 😅). Staff were lovely, checking in on the food and drinks. The food was superb, delicious garlic bread, flavoursome and crunchy crumbed parmesan with a tasty cranberry sauce. Partner had the seafood trio, all cooked perfectly, and I had a rare 300g scotch with garlic prawn sauce that was amazing. Wonderful dining experience and we will be back!

A friend and I took our two 6 year olds here tonight for a catch up dinner and play. I wish I got names, but the girl with dark hair in the sports bar and the girl who was in the restaurant section were amazing! So accommodating to us and our kids- especially my son who has ASD and gets anxiety. They were so patient and friendly and helped in anyway they could (my son was feeling overwhelmed). No judgement, just genuine care. The food was well priced and so delicious. Will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you!

I’ve loved this place since I’ve been born, but for the past couple months things have been odd. We got there at 5:30 and were greeted to order only at 6. My son and daughters meal came out immediately. My meal and my wives meal didn’t come out for 20 minutes. We questioned the lady and she said. “It won’t take much longer” When it was about 40 minutes after we went up again. We demanded a refund they then proceeded to rush our food. It was undercooked, chips were soggy and the meal was bland and wasn’t even worth it. I asked for a take out container. The lady forgot about us and only gave it to us 10 minutes later. My kids said they couldn’t of even felt the food in them at this point. I tried to take my family out for a nice dinner to celebrate school holidays. Waste of time and money.

Highbury Hotel has been a family favourite for fifty years. Serving staff were kind and efficient. Facility is nice. Menu has sadly been becoming more and more limited over the past years and the most recent menu is even more so. On this trajectory, the menu will be zombie certifiable before we know it.

Food was served on time and for the most part was good, usually whenever we (we being my family) order a steak they're delicious and really well done. Tonight my dad bought a steak and it was grisly and overcooked. Their was also one or two flies in the pub (doors were closed). However, after my dad told the lady that served us that he wasn't very satisfied with his meal as it was overdone, she apologized and offered if she could get us anything else, we settled on a glass of lemonade for my brother. Usually the steaks are really good and this was just one experience, so don't let that stop you from going there. :]

i can’t recommend this place enough. all the staff are exceptional ! but chi, the absolute legend went out her way in her break to go to the service station and got me orange juice because they ran out. the other staff member shannon was absolutely fantastic gave us amazing service. oh and i must say the pub meals we had earlier in the night was delicious have no complaints whatsoever. if i could i would give this place 10/10 stars !! the complimentary toasted sandwiches are the most tastiest sandwiches i have had in my life !! love this place and love the staff !! <33

Got served by Linda the brunette lady. She gave absolutely amazing service and was extremely polite. She also handled a very difficult customer amazingly. Lovely lady

Nice venue with a friendly atmosphere. All the staff were cheerful and the service was great. Short menu which I always appreciate, its generally a representation of their care, which was no exception here. Keep it simply and do it right. Tonight we ordered using the online QR from the table. Drinks arrived literally moments after we confirmed the order. The food arrived pretty quickly aswell. We had a garlic pizza as entrée. I got the rib eye, rare, I included a picture cut so you can see they hit the mark. My partner got Maple glazed chicken which was also tasty and well presented. We done guys. Id definitely recommend trying this place 👌

Sadly the chips were far from hot and the salt and pepper squid seemed like it wasn't cooked at a hot enough temperature as it was very pale and a bit hard. Bowl of salad was soggy at the bottom with a pool of dressing. Beef schnitzel with creamy garlic sauce tasted nice although chips were also not hot. I won't be returning.

Great staff. Food is good too! Pint and parmi deal never disappoints. A big shout out to Linda, Sian and Jeanette. Who make the atmosphere fun. Great to see bands back in the front bar too. Great job guys.

Awesome food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Desserts were delicious. The new chef is just what this wonderful Hotel needed. I loved watching how hard they work back there too. Will be back on a weekly basis now. Well done 👍🏻

Kid and family friendly, only wanted a light meal but was pleasantly surprised by the size of the Caesar salad. Happy to return.

Just there today for lunch and ordered from our table via the ME&U app which is also very good. Wife had the steak sandwich and I had the battered fish and chips both of which were very nice. The service was friendly and efficient. Well done, guys! 4.7 stars.

Just come back from Melbourne cup luncheon at highbury hotel . The setting , staff , food was amazing. Had the best Melbourne cup luncheon for a long time . Will certainly be booking again next year. Gave our comment of how impressed we were to staff to be passed on to everyone including the chefs who did a delicious meal well done guys .

Came in Wednesday dinner…all food was great and prompt…. Service was fantastic. Was really impressed with how courteous and helpful the young man and woman serving us were (sorry didn’t get their names). Also Chi? They were so helpful and friendly with my son. Organising the drawing pencils for him and interacting with him..went above and beyond Credit to you guys 👍

Moroccan salmon had a confusing wording on the menu, I couldn’t taste any Moroccan spices, but the salmon and accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection and tasted nice. For my friend, the Ribs were cooked so perfectly, the meat just melted in the mouth. Spacious, light filled eating area. All enclosed, so on a very hot evening, we could eat in the cool air conditioning. Bliss. Good range of flavoured ciders.

I ordered 1 meal and could not get the noodles change to rice but 2 weeks early I could ( I have allergies so not muchh to choose from) so had to get grilled fish, which came out salty the tartar sauce was discussing. So lunch all I had was small amount of chips and a salad that came with the meal. Not worth $24. I get bigger and nicer fish from most fish and chop places. There was 4 people standing behind the counter not 1 person said that they would be right with me while someone was serving someone else.

Had a sit down dinner with the family, service was really good and the place was nice. Really high ceilings and a couple of TVs with sports on. The menu is a bit lacking in variety but everyone enjoyed their meals and service was really quick too.

The customer service was good the bar staff were extremely friendly, My meal was beef schnitzel ,chips,salad which was cooked to perfection,I only waited 15 minutes !, Half the table I was sitting at had meals served quickly but unfortunately others it took 1 hr for their meals to be served

Chicken tastes like it was raw it was hard to chew and I am not a fan do not come here

We have been to the sports bar regularly and have enjoyed their Pint and Parmi deal which has always been great. Today we were not impressed at all. The schnitzels crumbs were gluggy and they just used a tomato paste for the sauce! The chips were not salted and the salad looked like it had been sitting on the counter all day and had no dressing on it which made it extremely dry. Very disappointed, and will reconsider going there in future.

Amazing service, lovely little play ground! Staff went above and beyond, i ordered the wrong thing ( fish grilled not battered ) and they replaced it free of change even though it was my mistake! We will be back !

Got the chicken schnitzel with pepper gravy and also creamy garlic sauce. The schnitzel and chips were cooked well and the chips were nicely seasoned. The pepper gravy was nice and peppery. The salad needed more dressing and the creamy garlic wasn’t really that garlicky but over all still happy with the meal and the service was amazing. Thanks for a great evening

We went to the Highbury Hotel for dinner tonight with my two young kids for my birthday. The food was fast and we enjoyed our meals, and the kids had an awesome time playing on the clean new looking indoor playground. It was great as me and my husband were able to relax for once! And best of all the staff were absolutely lovely. The young boy who was there taking orders and also waiting was really kind and lovely, and even offered to take a family photo for us. And the young lady was also really lovely. They both helped to make my birthday experience really fantastic. First time that we came and we will definitely be back!

Went into the Highbury last week and had an amazing time there. the staff were wonderfull and the coffee was amazing. deffinatly coming back soon! 10/10 service

Had a great medium rare steak here. Sometimes it is hard to get a pub cooked steak that is delivered to the table still medium rare, but both my dining partner and my steak was delivered in perfect form. The meals ordered by others on our table look good and I'm informed we delicious. Seats can be a little uncomfortable and it is not a place for intimate dining, but it is all you would expect from a pub atmosphere.

Fantastic food. Friendly staff. Amber in particular was great! We both had southern fried chicken burgers and were impressed! Chicken was juicy, salads in the burgers were on point! We will be back!

We had the $15 lunch menu. It is good value for money. I had fish and chips - a good portion of moist fish & lovely crispy chips. The staff members are always friendly here, as we went early the dining room was not too full & we all enjoyed our meal.

Christmas lunch 2021 spent at the Highbury Hotel. Delicious food. Excellent service. Staff were brilliant.

Not a bad place. Went for a meal on a weekend afternoon. Positives. Kids playground, nice neat venue and meals were a great size. Cons: my meal (pictured) was cold all but the roast potatoes and the kids fish and chips, the batter on the fish tasted old (daughter didn't want any part of it).

A nice big open plan dining area. We had the lunch menu but wanted a few tweaks to which they catered for without moaning. My pork Cutlet was cooked perfectly and I switched from the mash to having fries. I just wasn't a fan of the honey apple cider glaze, and feel a nice apple sauce would have been a perfect addition. The kids menu was just the right portion size too. My only criticism would be the lack of cleanliness, touch points of chairs, edges of walls and carpets etc. It's just the little things that make a huge difference. All that said, we shall definitely return.

No additional fees when our booking for 8 only ended up being 5. Eaten there twice now, both times one of us getting a steak and both times it was incredible. Cooked exactly as requested and the most even colour throughout that I've ever seen. Maple mustard chicken was very good and very juicy. Their seafood trio was a relatively flat flavour which could have been better, but overall a very good experience.

Menu is limited and no longer do bread rolls either. Hubby enjoyed his 3 seafood dish. I chose Highbury beef burger but regretted it as too oily for me wish I'd stuck with schnitty or pie dish ( so long as not all gristle). We used to always dine there but doubt that we will again.

I had the beetroot and feta salad and omg it was amazing. My partner had the ribeye medium rare and it was perfectly cooked even close to the bone. And that is a hard thing to achieve. Service was great. The lovely lady that served us normally works in the front bar so she was a little worried about the till set up, but she done great and was very nice and friendly. My some had the brisket and blue cheese sauce pizza and he said it was the best he has had. Extremely happy.

Revisited the front bar with friends during happy hour. Good choice of beer on tap and tasty Schnitzels. We won a meat tray which contained a mix of good quality snags, loin chops steak and chicken. We'll be back!

400g rib-eye cooked to perfection. Kids meal was on point and can't beat the schnitzel. The playground for the kids is bright and colourful. The staff were fantastic, could not be faulted.

Normally they are alright, but the last few times they have been quite bad. Tonight was terrible. Burger was the size of a kids meal, chips all hardly cooked. The salt and pepper squid was honestly the worst pub food I have ever seen. Frozen rubbish from a bag without a doubt. Salads we ordered 3 and all were tiny and disappointing. Was a shame we paid upfront because I would have refused to pay for such poor food. Staff were good, waiter offered us free desert or coffee, but even with that was over priced for the terrible standard of food. The whole table left unhappy and hungry. Chef needs to consider a new career as the quality of food coming out of that kitchen was a joke. Staff said the head chef was ‘doing something else’, unless they just picked a random person off the street it would explain the poor food. I would be embarrassed to serve food that looked like that to any house guest I had. Will not be back there anytime soon, such a disappointment.

Linda has to be one of the most welcoming bar tenders going around. We come in weekly and she always is so friendly and warm. Always giving the kids colouring in paper and making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Dined as a family with x2 children between 1 and 4. Staff were polite, friendly and approachable. Meals arrived quickly and with generous serving sizes for their prices. Everyone was satisfied and left with full tummies and happy faces. We will come back here again.
