There is no menu here, the friendly wait staff guide you in what to order. We ordered coffee, a cocktail, and platter for 3. The coffees were smooth, cocktail was tasty. The platter was a generous serve of lots of in season foods/produce. And a French toast on the end. It would be nice to have the option of getting that after, as ours was cold by the time we'd eaten everything else. The service was great. The platter was well presented, and was fairly well priced for what it was. Would definitely like to go back to check out their lunch or dinner foods. Also, great music, well suited to the setting.

Cannot fault Luigi's. What a beautiful dining experience, and it really is an experience. With no menu the wait staff explain the food on offer that day, and you have the option to choose, or they 'feed you' in that they make a selection and you share everything as a table. This is what we did and it's an amazing way to taste dishes you wouldn't normally order. The food is absolutely delicious. The gnocchi just melts in your mouth. The cocktails were amazing as were the staff. Such lovely people. This is up there with the best restaurants in the country in my opinion. 100% will be back!

First experience at Luigi’s which came highly recommended. I wasn’t disappointed. From the moment that you walk in, the friendly staff greet you with a warm smile and the aroma of fresh coffee and delicious food fill the senses. I tried the recommended breakfast board and it came out with a delicious assortment of food. Very filling - between the two of us - we couldn’t finish everything on the board! I’m keen to come back and try more dishes when next in Adelaide.

I had the gnocchi napoli with bufalo cheese (I may have misheard the waitress) and garlic bread. No wine, water or beer, just a coke. I am a humble man of basic designations. That said, I make my own gnocchi so I love trying it when out to compare and learn. I also respect the effort, skill and time involved even by chefs. This gnocchi was generous by gnoccho, pillowy and not mushy nor too firm. Utterly delightful, utterly devoured albeit slowly while sending photos to friends bragging about it. The lady serving my table was an angel. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and she enjoyed my joy. I should say that I had scoped this resto weeks ago before I even got to Adelaide, I am here for a long weekend of concerts and V8s. But I also made a sincere point of dropping by as a walk-in. As a treat, I got a traveller in the form of a passionfruit tart, utterly caramelly and delicate of flavour (this is a compliment while being accurate: sometimes when you get a passionfruit flavoured item, its PASSIONFRUIT and bright YELLOW, and kind of excessive, this is not that).

Great ambiance and service. We went for breakfast and had the platter. It's a lot of food for 2 people I think. That being said, you do get to try a bit of everything, so take a big big appetite. The staff are very very friendly and dietary requirements are catered to as well. Great coffee for sure. We will definitely be back and will try lunch/ dinner menu next time. Speaking of menus, there isn't a written menu for breakfast, hence the breakfast platter. Give it a try for sure!

Though more casual than fine dining this place has a great vibe and is a true dining experience rather than just a place to go for a meal. First oddity was that there was no menu, and instead the wait staff personally talk through the creations of the day - no easy task as it didn’t stop at the 3 choices of house made gnocchi and was instead an extensive list of amazing options. After talking through our faves (and there were a few) we were offered the “if you trust me. I can put together a share board based on what you have indicated” option - which was a great choice. Prices were not cheap however represented value for the quality and experience. Definitely a place I will go back to and recommend.

The food here is so good it's mind-boggling. It's our first time here and we came to celebrate my wife's birthday. It's an overload of the senses... their reputation definitely precedes them. This place is a 💯% must try.

We got the Breakfast Platter for 2. It was a lovely meal to share with someone and was definitely filling. It came out relatively fast as well. The staff was very friendly and listened well to the customers. While this place does not have menus, I really like the idea of the staff explaining what they are doing currently as it shows they changed their meals every so often.

Stumbled across Luigi’s on my way to the ballet having just arrived from Sydney. Wow! What a terrific place to eat. Angus our waiter explained the breakfast platter and customised something for us which was perfectly delicious. Amazing food, great atmosphere & very well priced. Haven’t enjoyed a meal so much in a long time. Definitely recommend. Will be back!

The breakfast board was pretty average. The poached eggs weren't yolky runny and the bread was very hard. Seems like it was the only option on the zero menu menu. The French toast was probably the best thing. But we left a lot of food on the board. There wasn't enough seasoning or flavours in general. Everything was weirdly salty. The coffee was good though.

Was here last year and back to this place 6 months after. They definitely provide consistent great service and good quality of food. And the smoothness of soy flat white was also spot on. Now it’s a have to visit place for me in Adelaide. Recommend to book during the weekend.

So we did it, after all the hype we've been to try out @luigi_delicatessen (1 and 2) Antipasti board which is a half/half seafood and meat board, was great. Squid cooked well, squid ink salami was a hit. This was actually enough for 2 people. If we would have stopped here we would've been satisfied...but what real foodies can stop at a grazing plate?! (3) spaghetti marinara, this was ok, the main flavour of the dish being garlic...Not much in the way of the tomato marinara taste you might expect but nice little bowl of garlic seafood spaghetti. (4) the star of the day - squid ink pasta. Well you can't have a good pasta without a good sauce and this sauce was lovely, a tomato based sauce with chilli oil, a Great hit of flavour and a touch of spice...the only downside was there wasn't much in the way of meat - 3 prawns. (5) an apparent fan favourite...but we didn't rate it. Pasta Di Mamma. The large rigatoni pasta was too thick and slightly chewy. The meat and sauce on the other hand - absolutely delicious 😋 Unfortunately there wasn't a pasta the absolutely blew us away, there was either, not enough sauce base, not enough meat/topping, or the pasta was too thick. (6) Octopus 'salad' ok look, I'm trying to pull out the positives from this experience. The octopus was not too chewy and had a good olive oil - lemon flavour. That's it. That's where this dish stops. Shoving a few thin slices of octopus on a bag of rocket...I can't help but be very disappointed. OK rant over. (7) stuffed squid - again, could've been cooked better as was slightly chewy. (8) swordfish. Its a meaty fish so best to eat it while its warm and tender. Great charcoal flavour. Overall, Luigi was a disappointment for us. The antipasti was great. The pastas...we couldn't find one that didn't have something that let it down. Seafood, ultimately...was slightly overcooked so just on the chewier side. We do have to say though, the service was fantastic, hats off to the staff, you made our lunch enjoyable 👏 #realhonestreview #adelaidefoodie @southaussie_foodies

Wow. Amazing Friday night experience at Luigi’s. First time but won’t be the last. Owner is a big part of the experience. Looks after you like a friend. The chefs are plating up some of Adelaides best Italian food. Generous serves. Exquisite quality. Try the pasta ragu. Recommended.

Honestly the best breakfast place we've been to, and i have a lot to compare with. Impeccable service and delicious breakfast. The experience from start to finish was beautiful - the staff was caring and very attentive, the breakfast plate looked and tasted fantastic. They did a great job making it completely gluten free, catering for coealic. Highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely be back! P.S. if you read the book "Small giants", i think this business is like that - small & local but absolutely great at what they do :)

I walked in Luigi's and was immediately immersed. It's not just dinning, it's an experience. The atmosphere was buzzing as a pianist was playing a grand piano. I felt as if I had stepped into another world, a classy cool restaurant. I noticed that there was no menu. looking around puzzled how do I order the food? My waitress came over and explained that there are no menus on purpose, as it always changing super fresh local produce. She went through the specials and told me about the sharing platters. It was like nothing I've ever seen. We had the most epic antipasto board! Then followed by a sea food smorgasbord. This is added to my list of Adelaide’s top restaurants and I’m sure it will be on your list too.

ChatGPT ChatGPT Luigi Delicatessen offers the best coffee in town, sourcing their beans locally from Uptown, a testament to their commitment to quality. It has become my go-to spot for coffee and breakfast in Adelaide, with a welcoming staff and a great ambiance. Additionally, it serves as a perfect environment for practicing my Italian skills.

Lunch today was uniquely memorable at Luigi's. Our friendly and knowledgeable server explained the lunch menu verbally after consulting the kitchen (there was no hard copy menu). We chose two pasta dishes, which featured freshly hand-made pasta, plated well and in very generous servings. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambience about. I'll certainly make a mental note to return here...on part with Osteri Oggi in my books!

Food is amazing! There was a piano playing and the service was incredible. I wish I took more photos of our cocktails and food but we were having such a good time that we were swept us in the moment. Highly recommend! Best Italian in Adelaide!

Food was great here. Everything was so delicious! Main downfall would be that there is no physical menu and I was struggling to hear or even remember the menu the staff was telling us (I respect how they remember all these, like wow!) - which I wasn’t aware of as well as my friend booked the place And the fact that we don’t know the price we are paying for. When people eat out I think we’d like to know what we are paying for the experience, but maybe this is just my opinion. But the food was definitely living up to our expectation. Everything was really good, the atmosphere was just amazing. It was quite busy so we were struggling to hear each other but I loved how there was live Jazz. They played one of my favourite from Bill Evans (iykyk) which even boosted up my experience. I’d definitely recommend visiting! I’d go back again

What a wonderful experience! Staff is super polite and takes care of you. I suggested this place for breakfast platter to my work colleagues for our end of year celebration. They all thanked me for the suggestion! Sumptuous delicious and true taste of Italy!!!

Loved the food and the experience, we were lucky to be hosted by Luigi himself. The food they prepare is with passion and love and its a must visit place. Its an experience to eat here and if you want to have an amazing experience just go for the ‘feed me’ option and you will love it.

Amazing coffee and an awesome breakfast board to share - something for every taste and plenty to go around. Lots of seating inside and out. Friendly, efficient service.

The best. The food and the service (Staffs), Luigi himself and his sister was so amazing, so friendly and easy-going. Highly recommend to everyone

Wonderful staff and a welcoming environment despite being in the foyer of a building. We had the recommended breakfast platter and shared it between 2. Go hungry because there is a lot on the platter including their signature smoky baked beans. Accompanied with excellent coffee and attentive staff this is a highly recommended foodie venue.

We five persons ordered a shared seafood platter there. It is amazing and staff are friendly. The only problem is no menu whilst staff tell us what they offer. None of us knows the seafood platter would cost $85 per person. The most expensive brunch I have ever had……

Delicious pasta, Nice coffee, Friendly Staff… Oh How I wish I had more space in my stomach for the lovely dessert. No doubt will going back for more dishes.

Food is good, it was a really friendly experience when I walked in. The interesting concept is they don’t have a menu, which is cool that they can help you choose the dish based on your requirement. It’s a bit expensive for a regular lunch place. I tried some fish & salad finished off with biscotti & coffee. There are some outdoor seating and the coffee was really good.

If you are looking for amazing food and friendly staff this is the place. Highly recommended, since you arrive the staff look after you and recommend what is in house, they don't have a paper menu instead they explained and recommend what they can cook for you is like eating at your aunty's home. Thank you Luigi we will be back soon, we loved our brunch platter and your service.

Most amazing pasta and wine, service was excellent and felt totally comfortable as a woman dining alone. Ambience was slightly infringed by a loud young Australian swimmer and his mate. Would love to come back in evening.

A fantastic experience restaurant, every visit will be slightly different. The love of cooking the best seasonal food underpins 'menu'. I say menu like that because there isn't a printed menu. Instead, you have a conversation with your server about what is on offer today. This does lead to exciting adventures. Just a word of warning, I popped in for lunch and it cost me $99!, everything sounded good 😃

Awesome friendly service. The almond cookie was very delicious and super fluffy. Tasted a bit like Marzipan. Lemon tart was nice and great creamy too, just a bit too much lemon for me.

Incredibly tasty, fresh food that changes regularly based on their ingredients. Menu is given at the table and the service is second to none. Loved our experience here and can't wait to come back!

I can't recommend this place enough. It was our first time at Luigis after being recommended by a friend and we felt welcome the moment we walked in the door. The restaurant has a warm ambience and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. It was a Sat night and there was live music and a lively bustling atmosphere. I ordered the spaghetti marinara which was one of the best I've had, my husband had the mushroom gnocchi and we shared a plate of winter vegetables. We finished off with a delicious dessert share platter. If you like great Italian food this place is a must. Note: I feel this review isn't complete without mentioning that this restaurant has a unique concept which means there are no menus or transparent pricing. As it was a special night we weren't really bothered by this and it actually added to our experience but I can imagine this may be an issue for some. In saying this our entire meal came to $130 including our dessert, a glass of prosecco and my husband's mocktail which we felt was well worth it.

Very nice food! Coffee was very good too. Would come back if I’m in the area. There’s a laid back comfy vibe and the waiters were very friendly.

I have had some wonderful dishes at Luigi's. Lately I have only had coffee with large groups of friends. The service is impeccable, everyone always enjoys their chosen drink. The times I have eaten there have been pleasant with the feeling I'm happy to go back. The restaurant is in the large foyer open area of a building. I went for lunch with friends. We had 2 pasta dishes, the food was fresh, bright, flavoursome, the seafood dish full of seafood - delicious. Service was impeccable. My concern was the price. For the 2 of us without drinks, it was $72. Yes it was delicious but very pricey

Sensational Dining Experience! Absolutely loved it. We shared a seafood platter and a tiramisu. The seafood was devine, super fresh, delicious!!! The staff very friendly & accommodating. And wow, the setting so beautiful with live music - a pianist and cellist - it created the perfect atmosphere. Will definitely go back

Food was absolutely delicious and fresh from the kitchen. Service was 💯% and above, friendly staff that made sure our meals came promptly and made sure all our needs were met. Atmosphere is classy and cosy, however because it is so popular it can get congested. More space would make the restaurant even better.

  • 5/5 Sherilyn D. 1 year ago on Google
Incredibly attentive staff, unique style of service which feels very personal as you are sent on a culinary journey around Italy with an explanation of the various enticing dishes on offer. Enjoyed lunch and breakfast at Luigis where portions are generous, flavours complimentary and food clearly made with love. Cannot recommend highly enough, a must visit when in Adelaide.

The staff was absolutely delightful! Friendly, knowledgeable, nothing was a hassle. Brought us a breakfast board to die for, a little tasting of everything. Too much for 2, but everything was delicious, from the tea (loose leaf) and the coffee, to the chestnut hummus, roast pumpkin and smoked salmon.
