Allegra Dining Room

Restaurant

😠 Venue is lovely, service is great but would not go back because the food is comically tiny, and not even very interesting or flavoursome. The marinated root was literally two slices of cold pickled carrot and the tart was less than one mouth full. The dessert had a description of some kind of sauce... Venue is lovely, service is great but would not go back because the food is comically tiny, and not even very interesting or flavoursome. The marinated root was literally two slices of cold pickled carrot and the tart was less than one mouth full. The dessert had a description of some kind of sauce that I could not see! It is incredibly expensive and is trying to be excessively posh and elitist by serving teensy tiny dishes. Thank god half way through the meal they brought out some bread, though still needed to go for a second dinner afterward as the several courses were not enough for a meal. To end on a positive, I do love that they have a purely vegan menu. Perhaps this kind of upmarket restaurant just isn’t my scene. If others enjoy this place, I hope it does well as I think it’s fabulous they are offering conscientious and sustainable choices by offering a vegan menu. I do however think it’s important to show how delicious vegan food can be though and unfortunately in my opinion this menu does not showcase good vegan food.

Amazing plant based dinner at @allegradiningroom! We've finally made, just in time before they go on hiatus in a few weeks. The food was absolutely amazing, even for us non vegetarians/vegans. You should totally try them out before they go on hiatus! . Potato croquettes with spring onion mayonnaise: loved the spring onion mayo! Made the whole thing super special 😍. . Carrot and celeriac broth: this was actually the starter that got poured as we sat down. So full of flavour!!! . Pickled vegetables with soy butter, beetroot paté, sourdough: really unique tastes! Absolutely loved the soy butter 🤤🤤. . Tart with caramelised pumpkins and carrot: wow this was sooooo tasty! . Jerusalem artichoke gratin with cashew bechamel and parsley: one of my favourite dishes of the night. Just perfect combination of flavours! . King oyster mushroom schnitzel with gravy: interesting to have the mushroom with the schnitzel! Great dish! . Roasted celeriac with bitter orange sauce: main course of the night - really nicely done celeriac. Really loved the orange sauce. Good combination of savoury and tangy sweetness. . Risotto with broccoli and Tasmanian truffle: lovely risotto, but the truffle flavour was only barely there 😅. . Kale with almond and garlic sauce: really loved the crispy kale 😍😍. . Tiramisu: mascarpone, mandarin sorbetto: this was so delicious that we literally devoured it within like 10 seconds 😅😅. The tangy-ness from the mandarin sorbetto worked really well with the sweetness of the rest of the dessert. . Macadamia biscuit: perfect end to an amazing meal!

Every dish was so unique and a favourite had to be the compressed watermelon. We adored the intimate setting and the friendliness of the staff. Looking forward to coming back again.

My partner took me here for my birthday, it was a lovely experience. Service was great. Small intimate setting. Delicious food, serving sizes were small however there was an abundance of dishes which does the job. A little on the pricier side but again, a wonderful experience. The menu changes with the seasons so we will definitely be back.

Not deliberately, I tend to only leave google reviews for the exceptionally good and exceptionally bad. Allegra Dining Room is on the optimal end of the scale. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptionally good. The food was incredible, wines delightful and service impeccable. It was the perfect evening of spoilings to top off an epic adventure (driving Canberra to Alice Springs and back again). I had looked forward to this dinner for months and it didn't disappoint. Thank you, Allegra. Can't wait to dine again. 💚💜💙

A beautiful intimate gourmet food experience which also happens to be vegan. Lots of locally sourced produce used, wonderful friendly hosts and a great wine list to accompany the food. They were also able to cater for our group of 5 which had 4 different sets of dietary requirements, including coeliac and complex allergies. Absolutely worth the price tag.

Amazing. Have never had a full vegan culinary experience but allegra does it with minimalistic brilliance. Each dish had just the right portions to bring together flavour and texture. After the 5th course you feel satisfied but not overally full. We experienced the winter/spring menu with the produce you'd expect from the season. An extensive wine and cocktail menu. Loved it.

A journey that satisfies every human sense. Each element placed on the table is thought of; from handmade ceramics and resin, to delicate, kind and robust flavours and textures in every mouthful. Allegra is a place that has your experience at heart. It echoes through an intimate space and unites passion, mindfulness and art, in more ways then imaginable. Thank you Allegra family.

A really delightful experience, every course served was so delicious that it was hard to select favourite dishes. The atmosphere was intimate and charming and the staff were so lovely. Terrific food, service, and left the place feeling full. Would love to come back again.

We went to Allegra on the last night of our honeymoon, and enjoyed every single moment of the degustation at this intimate restaurant. The chef was creative with their food design, and enjoyed every bite. Additionally, the service from our waitress was spectacular. Her understanding of the menu and food was excellent, and she went the extra mile to handwrite a note to us and take our picture on her own polaroid camera for our last night of the honeymoon. We could not recommend Allegra Dining Room more highly.

My partner and I went for a Valentine‘a Day dinner last evening. Despite us being a half hour early, staff were more than accommodating and got us seated straight away. I could not fault any of the courses or wine pairings as they were all delicious and very well thought out. The flavours were truly exhilarating and incredible. Our favourite was the sesame butter as it truly was to die for. My only irk is that we were charged $20 for mineral water despite requesting still water for the evening. We should have said something, but we only had one glass each and figured it was a mix up. I also wish the evening was more transparent on the price range as we didn’t know in advance the wine pairings would be an additional $90 per person, so we ended up forking out $380 for the evening (luckily I opted out of the wine pairing early on due to not being a big drinker and I don’t think I was charged, which was nice of them). We also were given a take home bag with a delicious pastry treat for the following morning. Overall, it truly was an exceptional fine dining experience and definitely will be back for a special occasion. We are thrilled to be supporting a plant based business as they truly made it so delicious, which hopefully will encourage people to try veganism. But maybe we’ll budget a bit extra for next time! 😃

My family and I had a really wonderful meal here celebrating a special occasion. Every course was delightful but the pistachio cake dessert with melon sorbet and balsamic glaze was a highlight. The service was very friendly. I emailed them in advance about specific dietary requirements to accommodate a diabetic guest (no oil, no sugar, no carbs) which was quite tricky and specific, but the chef Ricardo absolutely nailed it. No compromises on flavor whatsoever. Thanks team for a wonderful evening!

The service was flawless. I love the adventurous flavours matching but it unfortunately left us for more.

Flawless service, lovely ambiance. There wasn't a single dish that wasn't delicious. We opted for the wine pairing and it was perfectly matched. Wonderful fine dining experience for vegans but would happily recommend it to omnivores. Would absolutely visit here again.

A quaint, and fantastic little spot with seasonal produce cooked with the utmost care. Melissa, thank you, it was an absolute honour to be in your angelic presence! We really appreciated the effort you went into writing down your recommendations for places to eat. Highly recommend this place, and will absolutely come back here next time we visit Adelaide. I also really enjoyed the wine pairing... as someone who doesn't drink often, the wine really did pair well with everything, and was so easy to drink. I usually also experience minor allergic reactions with alcohol, but had minimal issues with itchiness or redness, and no hangover... what is this sorcery! Tldr; So yum! Drink lots! Melissa is lovely!
