I visited the gynecologist Dr Oonagh Cleland in Ulster Independent Clinic. It was agreed in advance that I would be informed of the results of the analyzes after a specific period of time. But, even after all the time limits had passed, no one from this clinic even tried to contact me. But they regularly sent me invoices for payment, they did not forget this. I had to call and remind myself several times. The attitude is like they are doing something for you for free. I do not recommend this clinic and employee to anyone.

Gosh this place is a mess of a medical center. At times it's even worse than the NHS. I had a terrible experience with the receiptionest staff. They were rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to me. They talked over me, huffed loudly and showed no empathy or courtesy. They made me feel nervous and uncomfortable before my appointment. This is not what I expected from a private health care provider that claims to offer patient excellence.

The staff at the booking center is overly assertive and speaks on top of the patient. This is my first experience with UIC and I am already not feeling comfortable about my appointment even though it's booked only for the end of July. A serious change of attitude is needed as this is not a patient service you would expect from a private clinic.

Here’s the anecdote. My mom gets to the appointment, the doctor literally escapes the room after 1 min because of the emergency call. She gets the invoice of £200. YOU BETTER BE JOKING.

Parking is not easy. There’s really not that many spaces. Once in it’s some set up! Cubicles for outpatient reception. All well organised. You get called in on time to see your consultant and their bedside manner is so friendly and relaxing. They send the bill afterwards. Mine was a simple issue and I’m glad I went than wait 2+ years with the NHS! Peace of mind is worth it.

My partner was up to see his consultant on the Tuesday and our daughter was up the following evening to see Mr Myles Black and I must say we couldn't have wished for more. From booking right through to treatment it was very efficient. Mr Black was a star, top man! The hospital was spotless and very modern and the toilets kept in order. Great to know we have this wee gem so handy.

I visited Ulster Independent, last night as my husband had an appointment to see a Rheumatology consultant. I have psoriatic arthritis, high blood pressure, severe asthma amongst other conditions. I wear a lanyard to sat that I am exempt from wearing a face covering. I was challenged by the nurse at the entrance, I explained the reasons why I cannot wear a mask. After a few minutes my blood pressure rises and I pass out, I also have neuralgia on both sides of my face and a visor causes extreme pain. The nurse went off to speak to speak to a senior member of staff. However when we went up to the desk the receptionist, to book in, after the nurse explained that to the receptionist that he was sorting it out. The receptionist decided to question me a second time. I had to go in with my husband as he cannot hear very well, and misses a lot of what is said in conversation Eventually we were shown to a room, and sat separately from.the other patients. I have never been treated in such a manner by NHS staff, I am notcannoyed at the first Nurse, I am however furious with the receptionist, who did not need to wade in and throw petrol on the fire, the receptionist is not a clinician and us therefore not medically qualified to make an assessment. Tbis is discrimination, and iis bullying an dharassment of disabled people. The NHS hospitals do not treat people in this manner.

Really nice and friendly reception staff at check in. The doctor was very professional and felt listened to. Follow up MRI booked for just over a week away so very quick services offered. Nice grounds but parking can be a bit of a nightmare.

Quick enough to charge you, not so great at sharing your details with your GP. Had a mri done, paid the bill at the time, a week later I am still chasing the department to get the results sent to my GP

I'm a health care professional of 23 years and had surgery and a stay here. When I arrived I was waiting less than 2 mins. Taken upstairs to my room by very friendly staff. Nursing staff were excellent, caring a credit to their profession. I was in my room no more than 10mins, a doctor came and did my ecg and had bloods done. My tea quickly followed and again any thing I needed just ring the bell. The Nurse in charge of the ward called each time they came on duty to introduced them selves which I thought was excellent. The nurses assigned to me were brillant, nothing was a problem, very diligent with paper work and medication adminstration. Each staff member knocked on the door before coming in and anyone new introduced them selves including the nursing staff, domestic staff, the doctors, anaesthetist and consultants. Had alot of pain and discomfort but was kept up to date with pain relief day and night. The building was clean, modern, welcoming and well balanced for a Clinical facility. I felt very happy leaving here and would be delighted to return. I'd give 6 stars if available 😊

I just wanted to share an experience I had on Thursday , I arrived in severe pain and a nurse who I think was called Regina Brady (apologises if I got the name wrong) took pity on the shape of me and with her own money without being asked went to the shop and bought me a sandwich tea and cake to make me feel a bit better. She also cheered me up. You don’t get nicer than that - thank you Regina ! The consultant and MRI staff could also not have been more helpful.

Had app with Dr Toner back in april for my daughter for tonsils, we knew they needed taken out he looked at them briefly and told us yes they would be best coming out, very rushed appointment. Told us he would put referral through to be taken out on NHS and that operation could be year to year and half , rang several weeks later and Mr Toner had not done this, told they would email through to get this done, rang again months later and the receptionist said the exact same thing, nothing had been sent. Shocking spent 140 quid to be told in 5minute app, yeh her tonsils need out which we already knew. Avoid this clinic!

Referred by Dr from another private hospital so I tried to make an appointment to see him and proceed with treatment. Receptionist was too busy telling me 'you can't just make an appointment here' and tutting to listen, and then transferred me straight through to the treatment department - who obviously couldn't help me book an appointment. Perhaps a receptionist that knows how to listen and do their job is required.

I have found Staff in booking very overly assertive and quick to speak over the top of me. One Advisor was adamant I needed a new claim care reference when I had already got approval from my Insurer that the same code was being used as it was the same symptoms being investigated. "You need to do this that and the other and call us back when you have done so...." tone quite aggressive, so much so I decided to cancel my appointment and go elsewhere. Booking staff are not plesant to speak to and don't give the patient time to adequately speak their needs, often needing need a little extra time often due to illness or disability. I was seen here in the past 2 years under 2 specialities and after several paid invoices by my Insurer, the Clinic suddenly bills me for bloods. They did not reply to the email I sent with their references, two weeks later they sent a letter naming a third party debt collecting agency could step in. I was then told by phone that my Insurer failed to pay their invoice thus I was getting the bill! This isn't correct procedure to bill a patient and my Insurer confirmed to me that they replied to the UIC stating their bill was not consistent with their mutually agreed costs. My Insurers since paid the bill yet I won't use this Clinic again because of billing issues and staff attitudes. King's Bridge booking booking team are excellent and informative.

I had an app with an endocrinologist , after 15 years of “chronic fatigue “ and an under active thyroid I knew how I felt was not normal. I had a 25 min max app which cost £200 and £195 of bloods taken! Was told I need my levothyroxine increased again. I knew given amount I was on and how I felt this could not possibly to the case, there was no conversation about perhaps needing t3 meds, iv since been seen over zoom with a functional medical dr , who did one simple reverse t3 blood test which showed I don’t convert levothyroxine and that’s why I have felt so miserable over the years ! Thankfully he has me on correct medication now and I finally feel like I should have if I’d have been given the right meds by nhs ! I paid dr so reluctantly and can’t express how disgusted I am at price for 20 mins and doing nothing to help. This dr did a ceoliac test, already done by my gp, but the obviously don’t look at your history before you go. I am now getting debt collectors calling for money for bloods that were already done! Thyroid bloods should be done before meds are taken, also wasn’t told that and had taken meds that day .I have had a horrible very expensive experience with this clinic and would advise others to do some research before picking here , never been so disappointed or ripped of in my life . I also received 3 emails with other patients details chasing up invoices. Complete breach of patient confidentiality Which I was asked to delete!

DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO JOHN CRAIG. uncaring and unprofessional. Spent £200 i didnt have to see him and all seemed to care about was taking your money. Following up with him takes months no matter how much pain you are in. He then had the gall to complain to me about requesting a follow up call without paying, when he told me he would call me after getting my results! Disgrace

Such professional people, and the room I had was incredible From the original consultation to surgery , I couldn't have had such great treatment. You all know who you are . Thank you for giving me a second wind again. With kind regards .Rona

I have attended the UIC several times over the past 10 years or so, including a few overnight stays. I have always found everyone very welcoming, attentive and professional. Tonight I had an out patient appointment and I was seen quickly and professionally at Reception and by the doctor, Dr Raeburn Forbes. He has a great bedside manner and explained everything so well. I am so grateful to have such a lovely hospital where my needs are met. I have attended another private hospital in Belfast and Edinburgh and neither compares.

Such a clean, efficient hospital with professional staff who are clearly very well organised, good at their job and happy in their work. I had day surgery with GA and was pleasantly shocked by how quickly every stage was dealt with from arrival to discharge 6 hours later. So impressive.
