There is a policy in place of no smoking within NHS premises. Why oh why are people being subjected to people smoking beside a ticket station and the hospital main entrance using the bin as their ashtray? Who is responsible for allowing this to happen. Suppose you can have a policy in place and just ignore it ! I will leave it there.

if you are an agency nurse from England, don't leave your home to come work here, not worth it the worst bed managers and night bed management team This is a hospital where they mix male and female patients in the same bay no concern for patient safety, they move covid exposed patients about the hospital instead of letting them isolate on the ward, exposé further staff members such as porters ,HCA and nurses, when moving a ward of 10 covid exposed patients at night to another ward, for no reason This hospital needs to be visited by CQC for an unannounced visit as the care provided is shocking, if you dare try to correct or do things the right way, you are ganged up on and left alone to carry all the work load by yourself this is also a hospital where if you bleep the hospital at night for sleeping medication for your patient, they ask you to administer medication without it been prescribed, shocking this same hospital is where you call the hospital at night for a patient review for example patient scoring high on NEWS, they do not turn up for hours or do not turn up at all the best wards worked on are A5,C4 , neat and very good team work wards worked on that needs unannounced inspection are B5,B6,AAA,A1,B2,shocking just shocking

Triage nurse on shift around 10pm 13th November really needs a good talking to about compassion and her bedside manner. Husband (patient) treated like an inconvenience and not offered pain relief which should be the bare minimum. There was no reason for this not to be offered to him and was highly appropriate in this instance. In response to her asking him “any allergies?” he informed her “just hay fever” and with a look of disgust she stared at a man in pain and repeated “but any allergies??” As though this didn’t meet her criteria. Perhaps this triage nurse needs some CPD specifically around the topics of what constitutes an allergy/the immune response and clinical and professional skills (communication). Appalling “care”. Waiting room completely stinks of cigarette smoke as smokers huddle next to entrance and waft it in which makes the 8 -12 hour wait unbearable. Nevermind the people who blatantly vape in the waiting room. What is the point in having a no smoking policy if it is not enforced?! Or better still create a designated smoking area far away from the door and put some large and obvious signage up re non smoking!

I have to say I am having the worst experience of my life. I am in with my son for a possible broken leg and ankle. I say possible because it has been 12 hours and he hasn't been seen . No food or drink offerd I'm diabetic told staff this got a shrug. 11 hours before I complained about his open wounds and the amount of flies in the area. The domestic staff on the most part very good. Except for 2 the stood beside us having a good long chat and giggle for 20 minutes white my son sat in a puddle of his own blood and puss. A male domestic finally notice and cleaned it up I was very grateful. Even if my head is hanging by a tread I will never ever come here again. Oh and I am a nurse disgrace no stars

Been sat in A&E for 6 hours with an approximate wait time of 4. Reception staff don't care, patients before us have been waiting for 12 hours, with no access to food or water. Fortunately the police turned up with a detainee that got priority over an 80 year old cancer patient and an older lady with a secondary blood clot. We've already watched 5 people leaving after trying to find out how long they will have to wait, with no answers beyond there's a queue and " you're not a priority"... Yup that's great health care service right there. I wonder how many patients this department allows to suffer every day because there's not enough staff on shift, I'd guess it's a lot.

My daughter had her baby here in February she is still too traumatised to talk about it. 4 failed epidural attempts. Unfortunately she was in the delivery suite during the night shift and was treated terribly. The patient toilets were a serious health risk with urine samples sitting for days and blood on the floor. This is only a few issues. I could say a lot worse. I can't believe how bad it was as I had all my children in this hospital. The care then was totally different. One young midwife in particular was so nasty to her it was disgusting. She shouted liar at her and pushed her. She is definitely in the wrong profession. Awful experience for a young first time mum. Heartbreaking that what should have been a wonderful experience was ruined by staff shortcomings. Thankfully my Grandson was delivered by emergency section after I demanded that someone contact the consultant who knew right away that a section was the only was the baby could be born as he was lodged solid and the wrong position. My daughter had been begging for a section as she knew something was wrong. But the midwife refused to listen to her. When my daughter feels strong enough we will make a formal complaint. Before that midwife seriously harms a mother and baby.

Attended A&E department on Monday with my husband who had a suspected TIA. Granted it was quite a wait to see the stroke team but well worth the wait. Very attentive and insisted he stayed overnight for proper assessment. Had every test possible done and result was confirmed. Great team in the observation unit and was really pleased with the treatment he received. Back home with revised meds and follow up arranged. Thank you everyone. 🙏❤️

Emergency Room takes 5+ hours to been seen. Zero updates and check-ins while we sit and rot. That’s not very helpful at all. Horrible “care”. They should be honest and state - clearly - that you’ll rot all day to be seen. The sad fact that we walked out - with no help - after five hours should tell you something.

Visited A&E with an acute infection. It was obvious they were understaffed but the personnel including reception, triage, nurse’s & doctors were extremely professional, empathetic & caring with their approach. I spent 3 days in the hospital & I couldn’t fault the level of care provided.

I had an MRI scan. I just want to say I am severely claustrophobic and from the moment I arrived at the alliance medical MRI centre the male worker really put me at ease constantly reassuring me and explaining every step. Thank you.

So now I know why the covid numbers are so high. People are dying in reception before they even get to a doctor. I've been here 8 hours. All I had was a severe stomach ache and needed aid. I just kept being told to wait. To a point I started wondering if I should pre order my own coffin. If you live in this country leave. The health care is worse than the 3rd world country I am from. Mark my words

Nervous , anxious and full of trepidation is all I was experiencing before my appointment at the Endoscopy unit on 23rd May 2022. This was all blown away by the lovely staff I had the pleasure to look after me from the minute I arrived until they escorted me to my waiting wife. They stayed with me the whole time and I enjoyed our chats immensely. What a bunch of lovely, caring people. I’ve also attended the CT , X-ray dept and outpatients and the same can be said for all staff. Thank you very much for all you do, there’s a reason why they do this job and it’s definitely not for the money I’m sure.

Yesterday I was involved in a motorcycle accident. Ambulance crew went above and beyond, however I was not given much confidence in the doctors as I was left waiting on a chair with no support for my leg, couldn’t push myself to go to the bathroom so had to wait 30 minutes just to get someone’s attention. After 2.5 hours waiting I met the doctor who wanted to do 3 x/rays. My arm, knee and ankle. None of the X-rays showed any breaks so i was provided with a knee brace and given paracetamol and sent on my way. I felt there was more damage going on than the x-rays could show and I was proved right today after visiting my local hospital here in dublin. Fractured bone in my knee and torn MCL. It’s likely I will require surgery.

This is one of the better hospitals. My daughter was in the NICU after arriving one month early & the staff, nurses & docs were all amazing. You also get free parking & food vouchers for the canteen so we didn't have to worry about anything other than our baby. They let you come & go & you can stay 24hrs with your little one if you need to. Their mental health department is also 1 of the best there is.

I had an MRI today the 16/03/22 at Antrim hospital. I was greeted by a girl with a smile on her face called 'Karen' who immediately made me feel at ease, as I suffer from enclosed spaces. Karen soon put my mind at rest showing me nothing but kindness. These staff do not get enough praise!! Tracy

I had an appointment at the DAU, it was booked for 9 but they said I can come anytime after I’ve done my morning school run, which I found extremely helpful. I was seen really quickly, within about 5 minutes of arriving and all the staff were extremely pleasant throughout and kept asking if I was okay, I was even offered some water. The treatment was quick and I left right after it was completed. I paid for parking but as I went to put my ticket in, the bar opened and a message appeared saying ‘free parking 😊’. Parking was relatively cheap as well around £2 for 3 hours. Thanks to Dr Damien (I hope I got the name right) and the staff at the DAU this morning.

I attended Antrim Hospital for an appointment with ENT Thursday September 01,2022 & was seen by a consultant called Barry he made me feel at total ease for the exploratory exam and was very informative about it afterwards and very considerate and helpful. Well done Barry you carried yourself like a true professional. The Antrim Hospital and all the staff deserve a Medal of Honour for all the hard work they endure everyday. I also would like to say how brilliant they were in treating my wife through all the illnesses she had to endure especially the Cancer. People should respect and be courteous to all NHS staff each and everyone of them has put their life on the line to care for people during the covid pandemic and still go out of their way to help and care for people even through the Covid Pandemic which is no longer a danger. The staff treat & care for everyone while enduring a stressful thankless underpaid professional job. I AND MY WIFE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR THE NHS who have our admiration and respect. The NHS is responsible for helping to save lives Please support these special people

stayed for 6 weeks, huge majority of nurses were super kind and understanding. some were a unpleasant. the food was awful though, hard mashed potatoes, unseasoned and very little variety esp for vegetarians and soggy sandwiches. was clean apart from the one earwig i found on my bed. waiting times are quite long in the waiting room, had to wait 2 extra hours because of a miscommunication once

Wife referred to AAH for an MRI by the GP. Was told that no MRI available and had blood taken, was sent to the worlds most ignorant podiatrist who then said that she would have to see the rheumatologist. Sat several hours to be told the rheumatologist wasn't actually in the building and an appointment was made for several weeks in the future. Then sat for another few hours waiting for a prescription for medicine that hadn't worked previously. Seems to be guesswork medicine as there is no coherent plan for treatment. An utter shambles.

The worst hospital! Doesn’t help you get washed, doesn’t give nice food. Had a male doctor in when I had to get changed so was really uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone! I stayed here 3 + days and i was sick all over my self and no one cleaned it and I couldn’t as I couldn’t move from how unwell I was. I lay in my own sick while the doctors and nurses looked and didn’t clean nor help I actually got shouted at for being sick. Awful this place needs shut down

I was in here in 2020. I had given birth months prior at a young age and given antidepressants, I got a severe case of serotonin syndrome where at home I nearly lost consciousness. I thought I was going I was practically told by the doctor to wise up and I’m having a panic attack. I later discovered 3 years later I’m Autistic , that disgrace of a doctor should’ve trained in the Oliver McGowan case. I now have ptsd from it. May she not sleep well at night ever again.

Waited 5 hours with my under two years old daughter for a doctor to see us, she had high temperature, nearly 40 degrees and it was not going down at all. The doctor was nowhere in sight, eventually we left because being there was very stressful for her due to the fact that it was nearly two in the morning and she was overly tired and obviously sick.

This is the worst hospital in Northern Ireland. My uncle has been discharged 3 times only to find out he had a serious back issue that was overlooked. The doctors are rude and only ever wanted him discharged to free up a bed. I can see panarama doing a documentary with serious incidents at this hospital. It’s totally out of control.
