The only thing I could describe A&E as would be a zoo. Left an elderly man for 10 hours after demanding he attend A&E for a crucial IV that absolutely could not wait til morning, but could wait 10 hours? While in A&E, we had a lady off her head on God knows what come into his room shouting and banging on the door and table, frightening the life out of him and no staff intervened. We then learned she'd been in all night too and psychiatry were only appearing after lunch time. Also an entire family in the next cubicle being extremely noisy and disruptive and nothing done. Loads of staff just stood chatting with 2 filled waiting rooms. The lack of empathy or even interest was astounding, patients being ignored and rubbish communication from senior staff, the place is a nightmare.

I have no words to describe my outrage at the emergency department in this hospital. People wait for more than 15 hours, the staff are indifferent, the doctors "work" as if they are dead. Complete incompetence and laziness. You are a shame for this profession. If you don't take emergency measures, I will not be surprised if someone does not die while waiting for the "emergency" in this hospital.!!

This place is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. It needs closed down. Airport security at Belfast International Airport could run this place better, and they couldn't run a pi55up in brewery. Horrific place to find yourself in. 90+ year old with serious injuries (including head) serious blood loss and they wanted to send her home. No beds no pillows, no pillowcases....Lord God help us......

✨REMINDER✨ *HOSPITALS ARE FOR EMERGENCIES. YOUR SINUS INFECTION IS NOT AN EMERGENCY. GO TO OUT OF HOURS!* Despite our NHS struggling these last few years, I received amazing care recently. Due to surgery complications in Dublin, I had to be admitted with a collapsed lung. The staff had me x-rayed and drain put in within a matter of hours, and would have been faster if not for awaiting a second opinion from the Royal. I had to stay a week and during my time here I've received the best care, hospitality and reassurance from staff. Our healthcare really is the most precious thing our country has, I was treated better here than a private hospital across the border! Thank you Craigavon Updated (7/12/23): Just gave birth to my twins here, and again, the level of care from staff has been phenomenal. I was treated with such compassion and gentleness during my fortnight here, as well as my babies. They were impeccable and I honestly couldn't have asked for better care, even during the scariest moments of my entire life I felt nothing but reassurance. Thank you so much.

Waiting hours at the Emergency department last 2 times were 17 and 17.5 hours and all the time 3 ambulance vans was parked at the front with sleeping personal inside. No more than 10-15 people went inside for 17 hours-no words and I can bet they have received Paracetamol if the pain was on the upper part and Ibuprofen if it was on to lower half of the body. The joke was when 2 of them parked on the gate and all of the burned oil smoke was getting inside the waiting room for few hours. That was a try to push people to the main entrance's waiting room as from the reception refused to close the door and the window. Now we are waiting for ambulance over 7 hours(edit: they rang back after 10 and half hours asking for the third time if the ambulance if still require, but we already went to Cavan's hospital) . The urology department rearranged an kidney stone treatment twice just because as they said that the machine is broken/the first time/,but wasn't and the second time was high temperature/ all lies as was made another few minutes later at the emergency services showing under 37/ . Lazy very lazy people there whose wages need to be cutted off. Shame for the 21st century to wear a doctor's uniforms. And some of the pro workers as bottom ones are giving 5 stars because of the town, but crying about the waiting hours in some of the telecom shops /shame shame shame/

Avoid this hospital if you can. I've had the misfortune of being an in patient on three occasions. The nursing staff are friendly and professional but unfortunately the consultants leave a lot to be desired.UPDATE - Since posting this review I've been in as a day patient for a procedure I was due to have six months ago but due to Covid it was postponed and my experience this time was first class. The consultant and nursing and other staff were all friendly and professional and could not be faulted.

I have been working here as a locum doctor for almost 3years. The town is lovely and the staff are friendly. Of course it's not immune to the pressures affecting NHS but the administrators are trying their best. I know this for sure.

The hospital is a district general hospital with top notch care. I can vouch for the pediatric side of the hospital. The nursing staff is probably the best that you would find in the country. The doctors are an extremely dedicated team genuinely interested in the well being of the little ones. The facilities are at par with the best that can be expected from a hospital of this size. Great centre for the children with diabetes as well. Some seriously good work is being done here in all departments including cancer diagnosis, cytopathology, obstetrics medicine and mental health. Yes the A and E is overflowing but the team does their best to give relief to all attendees.

This is a serious message with peace and love. Do not come here with minor injuries (a few stitches in our case) AFTER 9PM. If you are at all able to wait until the morning, it would be in your best interest to do so. The doctor that first examined us sent us back to the waiting room to be 'seen shortly', we waited there for 11 HOURS thinking 'any minute now'. If anyone at any point adviced us to go home, get some sleep and come back at 9AM (when they actually open), we would have happily done so. Hopefully this will help someone else avoid this situation.

I arrived in A&E at 2am yesterday morning and didn't leave until 2pm , my first time in 9 years from when I became unwell that I have been very disappointed about the care I received, a complete shambles, I asked a member of staff was the shocking waiting times caused by cov and they replied no it's disorganised doctors who were at fault, I watched on 3 occasions as drunken men were brought in and escorted by police officers and they were seen to straight away the nurses deserve any credit

Lucky to get one star! Wait times are pathetic No empathy for patients Every appointment is late by at least 2 hours even at 09:30 unacceptable and to be honest pathetic. There's a lit if inexperienced staff members walking about talking about their weekend in front of patients and families not.very professional.

My Dad was in this hospital with a broken ankle for over 2 weeks . Operation kept getting put off because of emergencies coming in (which is completely understandable and not the issue) .But the day after the operation was put in the "discharge lounge " without telling his family . so he was left sitting there in his pyjamas and dressing gown along with his bag until we came up for normal visiting hours 3 hours later . We had been advised it would be about 2-3 days after the operation before he would be able to come home . If they just called to tell us he was discharged we have been there straight away . Feel sick to the stomach this can happen in this day and age. One phone call was all that was needed. He had really good care while there. But admin is definitely something that needs to be looked into .

I was called for a ct scan yesterday at Craigavon hospital to cut down on the waiting list at the City hospital. Couldn't find the correct entrance but the kindest nurse took the time away to take me up to the entrance. My husband, who lives with Alzheimers, waited with my son in the car. Not only did she find them a convenient parking space, she brought a cup of tea and biscuits out to my husband!! I am sorry I forgot to ask her her name. In these days of people complaining about the NHS,I would like to say a massive thank you for the treatment we received at Craigavon hospital yesterday,πŸ™ for my scan results.

Kept diverting calls to different departments and seemed desorganised. Don't know what they are doing. Just to reschedule appointment had to talk to a million people and still haven't rescheduled.

Waiting waiting waiting for hours & hours very very slow every excuse under the sun , waiting for 5hrs after discharge with 80+ year old relative for a doctor to write a letter, staff will not tell u anything unless u push the issue , 80+ person expected to inject themselves at home with no instruction , still waiting for tablets from pharmacy, which the patient already has at home , we pay for this kind of service, this is not to mention the 12+ hr wait to even be seen in A&E , the NHS is broken

Mother in her late 80's had a fall inΒ  November 2022 and fractured her hip. She made a slow recovery in hospital.Β  But just before Christmas beds were needed at Craigavon Hospital and there was excessive pressure on us to take her home. But I'd had a massive stroke earlier in the year and we couldn't provide the care she would need. We contacted the Craigavon Hospital Social WorkersΒ  and they worked hard to get Mum in a nursing home at the most difficult time in the year - the week before Christmas . The hard work and commitment of the Social Workers at Craigavon Hospital bore fruit and Mum was placed in an excellent nursing home two days before Christmas!

I think this is the most depressing hospital in the country, and if not, the whole world! I was here on February and was in real pain. I was sitting for 6 hours before being called into a room where I was for the next 4 hours and keep in mind, I was in real bad pain. The hospital is very slow, which you would expect, but It is just such a depressing environment, no fun, no happiness, literally nothing to do with being happy. There is some nice staff which is the only reason I'm giving one star. I was also here back in 2019 because of a chest infection, and I arrived at 1pm, and was back at home at 2am. Really slow and depressing hospital.

What an absolute circus of a hospital, not one department can do anything right. Staff in a&e are a disgrace, they don't know how to show a bit of empathy. Anything that was asked was ignored. You are left to sit in a corridor with out even a drink. I could go on but I would run out of roo.

On the 18th of July 2022 I was involved in a seriuous raod accident. I was brought by ambulance to Craigavon to A&E. There was a wait but duringt that time the ambulance staff were very attentative and chatted to me making me as comfortablr ad possible. I finally was admitted and the A&E staff took over. The female doctor ho attended me was excellent and frequently she returned tio me asking how I was and explaining what was happening. She told me she knew how uncomfortable I was but that I would be seen to as soon as possible, Likewise the nursing staff came to me on a regular basis even though I noticed how busy they were. I finally was brought to have the body scan which fortuntely showed no broken bones. \I wanrt to recod my deep appreciation to all who attended to me on that occasion. I could not speak highly enough of evevy member of the Team who looked afterr my needs. A big thank you to Craigavon Hospital. Thomas Wright

The staff don’t give a flying F about their patients! My mother has terminal cancer and was left in the waiting room for 6 hours just for blood results! Still no sign of her being seen to either, it’s absolutely atrocious. There was also a wee lady who was sitting in there for well over 8 hours after a heart attack and a blood clot! Do not go to these ones. Do the smart thing and go private, all the nhs care about is money money money.

Fell at work and broke my leg, used phone first service while on my way to hospital, was booked into minor injuries. Arrived about 5 was out with cast and crutches by 7. Longest wait was second x-ray after cast fitted this was due to a&e being so busy.

My husband is currently a patient in Craigavon hospital, he has now been in for 15 nights, his care has been outstanding, although he has only seen his consultant twice!! My concern is during Last week's cold spell and the stormy weather this week, he has been exceptionally cold and blankets are like hens teeth!!. He has only been provided with one tatty blanket as shown in the picture surely this can't be acceptable, not blaming the staff as they can only work with what they are given.
