Attended A&E with a red flag letter from my GP that I had partial Claudia equina of the spinal cord. This was back in the summer of 2021. The Doctor was not familiar with the condition and I had to explain my symptoms and request a MRI scan. I was advised that they didn't have a working MRI and that I should do a number of tests which were totally inappropriate for this condition, example could I stand on one leg, could i touch my nose, could i touch my toes. Seriously, avoid this hospital and go anywhere but the Causeway. I was discharged within 2 hours and my condition was later confirmed when I finally had a MRI at Kingsbridge hospital. It was a 6 month struggle learning to walk again and I have been left with symptoms due to this injury and lack of knowledge or understanding by Causeway Hospital. I was lucky as I can walk again no thanks to the Causeway.

Attended Causeway Coast Hospital A&E today. Phoned before hand and a triage nurse called me back with a time (1 hour later) It was busy but I did not have to wait very long. I was treated by a very professional team who attended to my problem with compassion and humour, made me feel very at ease and the treatment I received cured what could have potentially been quite serious. I cannot thank them enough for the excellent treatment I received.

Good clean hospital. The maternity ward staff were mostly helpful but did not provide enough after care for my wife.

My son has Downs Syndrome with severe learning disability, we attended A/E during our holiday on the Antrim coast as my son had extreme vomiting, we were treated promptly and compassionately. Huge thanks to our Dr in attendance who was ' Harry ' , thank you so much . My son remembers you

Dreadful hospital I took my father to A&E as he was instructed by doctor on call we waited 12 hours where he was finally admitted at 2am. He was kept in the A&E ward for 2days where he was then transferred to Acute Elder Medical Ward he was there for two weeks for a UTI and treated with antibiotics and fluids. He lay in the bed with an adult nappy on as they wouldn’t let him out to use the bathroom! They didn’t give him a shower for the whole time he was there, his hair was so greasy he looked terrible! They lost his Β£300 glasses, his white stick as he’s severely sight impaired, his Zimmer frame, phone charger, earphones for his radio. The staff were not helpful or approachable. (Although his nurse Eve was lovely and kind to him). I will never take him or any of my family to this hospital again

Fabulous systemic care experience in Surgical ward 1 at Causeway Hospital. Staff were caring, communicative, kind, professional and very committed despite being so busy. Cleanliness was very good and food was tasty. The healthcare assistants, student nurses. nurses, junior and senior doctors and consultants were all very good indeed. I was particularly impressed with the patience and tolerance shown to all patients, despite how staff were sometimes criticised, talked to and treated. My A&E experience was not so good- in 2 waiting rooms from 6am to 5pm in considerable pain and discomfort and felt largely forgotten about. However! The wonderful nurse Megan T was heaven sent, sorting out pain relief, privacy and a surgical bed - a great nurse. I could see everyone was run off their feet but kindness still prevailed. So!! A big thank you and well done to Megan in A & E and to ALL staff in surgical ward 1. So very much appreciated.

Special thanks to Aoife Brown who gave my husband John excellent care during his surgery on 21 July. Aoife was very kind and nothing was too much trouble for her no matter how busy she was She even got his radio and iPad connected which isn’t nursing care but it meant a lot to john to pass time for him. Thanks again Aoife

Awful hospital. Complete lack of communication between the day and night staff. The staff have no monitors within wards to know whether or not someone is having a stroke, heart attack etc. In the case of someone becoming paralysed due to a stroke, the patients cannot reach the buzzers to alert staff, due to the obvious implication of paralysis. Disorganised mess which desperately needs to be addressed before the loss of anymore life due to absolute negligence.

Terrible service from The EMERGENCY Department, the doctors who are supposed to take you seriously. Waited 12hrs in the waiting room. Case of a mini stroke (reoccuring) dismissed multiple times, waiting 12hrs for near enough nothing from them as far as can see as they dismiss you, because your young & they seem to think you can't have underlying health conditions If your young.

I was in Causeway from December 2021 to March 2022.I had 2 major surgeries within 10 days and was very poorly. I was in ICU for 7 weeks. The nurses and doctors were all so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They attended me constantly and was very caring and kind.I then was moved to Surgical Ward 5 and the nurses ,Dr's,physios and OTs were really helpful and encouraging. They all spoiled me.Nothing was too much trouble.A massive thank you to you all and to Dr Campbell,Dr Novak,Dr Patterson who performed my surgeries and to any other medical staff that helped in any way in my recovery.

I had a colonoscopy performed yesterday at the Day Procedure Unit. My experience was superb, from the promptness at reception to the caring professionalism of all the staff. Friendly and competent at every stage, I must mention particularly nurses Julie and Patricia. Leigh Martin, who performed the procedure was excellent in every way and exemplified the very best in patient care. Causeway Hospital can be very proud of this Department.

I recently attended the causeway hospital with my daughter at the out of hours doctors. Bit of a drive for me but with the professionalism that was shown to my daughter I would drive double the miles to get go this hospital again. She ended up being seen by the paediatric doctors and the care and affection they showed her not to mention the thorough examination was just fantastic. I have to say it was an amazing hospital and I highly recommend it. Only downside was we hadn’t eaten so i tried to purchase food from the vending machines and it would only take coins. I had a Β£10 note and there was no way to get coins in the building. A very kind nurse gave me Β£1 so I could buy crisps for my child and I was so thankful for her doing this.

The treatment I received was quick and the doctor’s diagnosis so quick also. I was sent home with all the medication needed so I feel the staff were brilliant and I left the hospital feeling relieved thanks to the support of the staff and especially Doctor Adrian.

I was treated in A&E last Sunday /Monday. The care I received was second to none. Special thanks to Sharon who was so attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. Every nurse I spoke to was so kind and helpful. There were two student nurses on duty, Lara and Lauren. Already they are great nurses. Thankyou Sharon. Thankyou everyone.
