Attended a wedding here. I was part of the wedding party and had paid £150 for a family room. There were signs up all over the hotel that guests can't have their drinks in their rooms. While going to my car to get a charger the director (I later found out) was staring at me which was really unnerving. I watched him chase (around the car park) and shout at guests if he thought they had brought their own alcohol. I have attended many weddings and ive never seen this behaviour. At £14 for 2 pints and a coke and £12.50 for a double with lemonade I don't blame them! Staff were rude and ignorant when I asked for milk for my babies bottle as there is no fridge in the room. The food was bad, sitting for a long time and veg were solid and not cooked. Putting country club on the name doesn't make it so..... appalling behaviour, bad hotel, overpriced.

We wanted a couple of days away and also see this part of Ireland. Although the hotel is off the main roads it is still less than 15 minutes to Belfast. Quite at night. The room was warm and bed comfortable. The food is good and menu varies each day. Breakfast very good selection. Coffee was fine. I would recommend this hotel on high standards overall.

Right I have been there a lot over 40 odd years and have never had any problems with the hotel apart from the young waiter spilling gravy all over my friends handbag when he was clearing the table and the most funny thing was (And am speaking from over 38 years as a chef and waiter)I have never seen someone put the dirty knifes forks and spoons onto the clean table cloth when clearing the table lol (We be talking about that for years). He put the plates on his arm but everything else was put on the table. And every time he went to pick up a plate gravy went on the handbag etc.I wanted to say something but my friends didn't want to spoil our friends wedding dinner.I have never spent a night there so can't talk about the rooms. Good points food was lovely we had a private dinner early in the day.The stuffed pork was lovely and the staff was very helpful and got us served quickly so we could go to the wedding. The Black's wedding was fantastic we had a lovely day and a great meal the food was very well cooked etc. And the wedding party was fun one off the best weddings I have ever been to. The bar staff very good. And I really do love the staff and the food and look forward to many more happy days in the hotel.

The La Mon is in the perfect setting, nestled in the Co Down countryside but close to Belfast and Co Down towns. The bedrooms are modern and comfortable and quiet. The afternoon tea is very good and tasty and breakfast was also good. The country club is lovely place to chill out. The big plus for the La Mon are the staff who were very professional but also friendly and very helpful. Definitely recommend.

After a long day of travelling our group arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome. I was given my room key, and instructions to get there, which was confusing and a long schlep. The room however was very nice, quite large and had a view of the outdoor seating area. The bed was very comfortable and the sleep quality was excellent. TV, WiFi was great and I had a bath in my room too. The breakfast was pretty good, and was available most of the time (check times). Occasionally, a coach load of people may be staying at the hotel and it can get very busy. The car park was safe, and overall our team had an enjoyable stay here.

On initial entrance, the hotel looked clean and modern, the outside could certainly do with an upgrade. This is most definitely not a 4 star resort and is a 3 at best. The swimming pool area was so disappointing. It is was so dated, it certainly didn't feel part of the hotel 4 star hotel experience. The sauna and steam room weren't warm either. The changing facilities had broken tiles on the floor of some of the showers. We ordered a cocktail and this was poured from a pump, not even a proper mixed cocktail at £8.50 each. I would not recommend or return.

It was the Festive Christmas Carvery with a visit from Santa. Thought the price suggested a better experience but was disappointed. The food offering was mixed. Soup good, salad selection mixed while the Carvery was good. Roast potatoes could have been cooked for longer. Selection of desserts was both extensive and good.

Just called in at Xmas time for a drink. Very helpful friendly staff. Has a sort of scandi feel. Fires lit in the foyer and lounges frequently topped up by staff. Attentive staff brought menu quickly goid choice of sandwiches cakes etc we had the ham hock terrine with sour dough an pickle, was tasty the coffee was also great and lovely homemade shortbread. The Xmas decor was so well thought out and the younger guests approved. Great hotel choice if visiting Belfast..

Booked a pamper package which included a spa treatment. The original room we checked into had lights hanging from the fittings in the bathroom-exposed wires etc. The lights also did not work; reception staff did change our room for us. However the blanket on the bed in the second room had blood stains on it. We had to check in around a wedding party that took over the reception area and front of the hotel. We were not informed about a wedding being held on site for a midweek stay which we feel we should have been told about when booking as we would have changed our dates. The wedding made us feel uncomfortable/and unable to use the hotel restaurant for our evening meal and we ended up leaving to drive into Belfast to eat. The power went out multiple times throughout the hotel and country club within the first few hours of us being there. Breakfast was tasty but all the food; including the coffee was cold, (and we were seated before 8am) which was also disappointing. The only positive of our stay was our spa treatment through an external business operating on site. We had been bought vouchers for our stay at La Mon and still had to put forward more of our money to cover the cost of our stay and we were very disappointed. We would not have liked to have been spending the full price for the stay. Reception staff asked how our stay was on check out; their response to being told that we were very disappointed in our stay, and listed the reasons, simply responded with "oh". I wouldn't recommend La Mon for any kind of stay.

At check in we were told breakfast 7.30am until 10.30am. We went down at 9.55am and girl that greeted us said while looking at her watch "yous have just made it" we looked at each other and then she reluctantly showed us to a table. Then I said do we self serve and reply was yes and we bring your tea/coffee to table for you. So we then headed to get our breakfast abd there was no milk at cereal so we thought we'll just get a fry.....well there was no potato bread/soda bread available. We asked could we get some and fella went into kitchen and came out to say sorry kitchen is closed as we stop at 10am due to carvery..... bearing in mind we were in before 10am and only by chance as we'd been told 10.30am. So we got what was available and then toast as no fried bread available. So we went to our table and tried to get attention of staff but nobody responded. So I got up and went over and asked for tea/coffee and he brought to table as he sat it down I asked is there any milk? He walked away. No milk came so we had to go ask again.....meanwhile everything was getting cold..... while we were eating other guests came in and were told your late.....he replied saying we were told 10.30am..... and my sister said yous weren't only ones as we were aswell..... then another set of guests came and all had been cleared so they only were able to get fruit and cereal to which staff had to go get milk..... Totally ridiculous that there was no fried bread available considerwe were in at 9.55am....... staff were miserable and not at all friendly or approachable.... they are in wrong job in my opinion. Then I had just taken last bite and fella lifted my plate while my sister was still eating. Very bad manors in my opinion. They were just focused on clearing up and preparing for carvery. We certainly will not be back.

While our room was changed to accommodate my friend that was prob the only positive we could say. On arrival we decided to use spa while waiting on our room. The pool was freezing(I do open sea swimming so that's saying something). The jacuzzi steps were very steep & extremely hard to master even for myself who is quite fit & extremely mobile. My friend unfortunately slipped while getting out hurting her knee & no one even came over to assist or see if she was OK.restaurant staff abrupt when ordering evening meal. My meal was could & bull the chicken was slightly pink at 1 end & both meats were cold. When asked if everything was OK I said no & explained why all I got as a response was ' oh sorry to hear that' perhaps had the person been a little more pleasant I wouldn't have even bothered with writing this. I was so looking forward to this trip as it was a gift from my friend for my birthday. I hated complaining as she had gone to the effort of surprising with this. I will not be staying here again. Had staff been more responsive to our complaints it may have changed my opinion

Booked for the Boxing Day Carvery. The staff were great and extremely pleasant. The soup starter was meant to be Cream of Vegetable but it was like drinking green water, I was really shocked at this. I ordered a vegetarian meal, I was given a stuffed Pepper which I thought was really tasty, I was however very surprised at the lack of fresh veg options and like others have commented the food wasn't hot. The Yorkshire puddings were dry and tasteless. The selection of deserts was however fantastic. Our first round cost well over £30 for 2 wines, 2 West Coast Coolers and a Fruit Shoot. I then ordered a bottle of white wine to share which was £30, seriously?!? How can those prices be justified. Absolutely wild.... We have been coming back and forth to this hotel for years but I'm honestly considering looking into somewhere else for next year. It's a real shame because I know just how good this hotel is capable of catering for a large amount of people.

Paid extra for a 'deluxe' room, the only thing deluxe was the price. The room was absolutely filthy, it looked like dried in vomit on the bath, the bathroom door was sticky and there was a white power on one of the sills which hadn't been cleaned up. Plus the cobwebs and filthy carpet. Also asked for a quiet room, we were given a room right beside a lift. Not entirely the hotel's fault, but a stack of kids used the corridor as a 'party spot', running screaming and shouting up and down. No way is this a 4 star hotel. The exterior was decorated lovely for Easter, but the rooms are a huge disappointment. If this was deluxe, I would hate to see the 'bog standard'. Food in the restaurant was mediocre at best, charged full amount for a child's 2 course meal, despite the fact he only had one course. Massive disappointment, will not be back.

The bar staff were under trained. Couldn't make cocktails or get me a pint of Guinness and that was from either of the bars. The management would need to train staff to a better standard. Although the staff were good and pleasent. I don't think the hotel deserves a 5 star rating. The hotel would need a good revamp. The noise after 11 was ridiculous. I've stayed in much better accommodation for alot less money.

La Mon Hotel and country club was a great visit for a wedding I attended, regardless of the wedding the outside parking facilities were great. I could have brought my Camper van to sleep the night off after wedding but alas I got the bus there and home that was laid on for us. Anyhow I must say the venue is very eye catching as you arrive. Lovely entrances and lovely grounds also . Once inside it's a mixture of modern contemporary hotel experience yet felt very homely in its atmosphere. I'm not sure how much the wedding had to do with the whole experience of the place but regardless I loved the place as we entered it . But as the day went on I realized that the bar areas were very small and the queues got longer and waiting time to get service was poor. The staff though we're friendly enough. They were under pressure to accommodate the patrons but we're not very motivated. All in all it was a reasonable experience.

We went for sunday carvery, £30 per person. Starters have definitely dropped in quality vs when we went a year or so ago. Salmon is not served anymore, all very basic dishes to cut costs no doubt. Main was just ok, the meats were pretty tasteless, had to put a fair bit of salt on them to make them taste better. The so-called roast potatoes are awful, more like cheap boiled spuds that are thrown in the oven for a bit, not proper roasties in any way. We asked to take our desserts home in takeaway containers but were refused on the grounds of some regulations about taking their food home, which all sounded like nonsense. We paid for the food and it's up to us what we do with it. At no point during our dining were we asked how the food was and no one came over to ask if we wanted tea or coffee. The service has definitely gone down hill, a lot of young folk who didn't really have much control of the situation is the impression we got - they need more training and guidance. We will definitely not be back based on our experience this time, which is a shame as years ago it was a top spot. The total bill was £65 for both of us - way overpriced for sure.

Extremely comfortable and fabulous staff. Hotel refurbished and excellent value. I was pleasantly surprised with keenly priced menus, rooms well presented, and spacious. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

A nice stay in a nice hotel. Rooms are dated but clean although the showerheads/doors could do with a little attention. Bed was comfy but staff seemed a little frazzled over the Xmas period.

Hotel is a good bit away from city and taxis are a nightmare to get! The prices within the hotel are extortionate 3 double vodka and 3 250 mil redbull 57 pounds!!! Book somewhere else, folks, closer to the city the better

My hubby and I came here for a Christmas break away from our kids to relax and chill out ... Such a beautiful hotel and very friendly helpful staff who were happy to check us in a lot earlier than our expected time...Food in restaurant was lovely and good size portions....Didn't get to use pool or spa this time but will on our next visit as we'll definitely come back again ...

Stayed here for work, traveling in and out of Belfast city centre it's around a 6-7 mile trip but takes about 20-30mins with traffic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and organised rooms was very spacious. Would stay again but maybe not for work.

A really nice place to stay close to Belfast and City airport and we will probably stay again. We were in a family room (4 of us) and had plenty of space but it was VERY hot, even with a fan. Windows/curtains were quite old. We used the pool, room service and breakfast and service was very good. The only, very slight, issue was that there were private swimming classes going on in the pool and when my kids and I were getting changed there were about 7-8 strollers/prams in the changing room, bringing mud etc from outside and children walking around the poolside with outdoor trainers. I thought it was a bit of a hazard if there was a fire alarm and most pools ask swimmers to leave strollers outside.

There for an evening do. The staff were friendly and helpful...a must for any venue! And while location is perhaps a touch rural (taxi there and back a pain if not staying over) it was overall pretty good. Decor is grand and as you might expect from a more modern venue though one old looking fireplace then sort of looks out of place oddly! A decent night

My wife booked an over night stay at the hotel for us and the kids as it was the best value for money in terms of kids eat free and the facilities like the pool etc the kids had a blast we all enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and very clean tidy. The food was lovely first class. On arrival we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant lady at reception we were made to feel welcomed the kids were delighted to be given welcome bags with toys etc. I would like to mention a member of staff that went above and beyond for us at the restaurant she was a lovely lady very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us I believe her name was Pauline just wanted to say thank you for making our stay wonderful Definitely book again

Had my daughter Victoria's wedding here on Friday 21 July. Fantastic day, everything went without a hitch. Bridal suite was amazing. Lovely meal with dessert to die for. Also excellent evening buffet. DJ booked through the hotel and he was brilliant. Big shout out to Chris who was outstanding. Also girl on reception (didn't catch her name) who was very helpful, especially as we had a lot of family over from England. Thank you La Mon for a wonderful day!

I went to the Sunday carvery on 28/3/23. Standards have really dropped and the prices have gone up. I've been quite a lot in the past and particularly enjoyed the starters. The lovely salmon has gone and I done well to find a prawn in the prawn pasta. The parma ham is worst I've ever tasted. The starters had the look of what's the cheapest we can do this for. Our main meal was ruined by the gravy which tasted awful. It tasted like it had been made with red wine which had gone off. Thankfully desserts were excellent as before but no one even asked us was everything ok or did we enjoy the meal. We usually went 2 to 3 times a year but the experience has put us off going back.

Can't understand some previous comments. The hotel & staff were absolutely great. We had a family reunion & the staff couldn't have done more to make our stay any better. Lovely food, atmosphere & facilities.

Attended for the carvery. Not a good experience. Took 8 of us out for Father’s Day. Firstly the Mill restaurant room was dirty and the tables and decor are dated. Service was atrocious, no one to clear plates from the table and took at least 10 mins before anyone came near us to take drinks order. Was left standing about for 10 mins at end to pay my bill. Food was really poor quality. No options for gluten free for either alcoholic drinks or food. Limited to 2 selection of meats and not great choice of veg. Starters were terrible especially for kids. For a resort and spa which is 4 stars and for £35 per person per head, this was a complete let down. Really poor customer experience. Will never be back.

Having read awful reports about the hotel I wasn’t looking forward to coming. I was on a bus trip & have to say I enjoyed my stay. The bedrooms we were in were big & very clean. The evening meals were lovely, the best I’ve had in various hotels on bus trips - 3 mini starters including soup on a plate & 3 mini sweets as well as lots of meat or fish for the main. Complements to the chef. The staff were great too. The only drawback was the prices at the bar - cheapest bottle of wine £27.20. If the prices had been less we’d have drunk more! Also no evening entertainment & the hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you can’t even walk to the nearest pub wherever that is.

Had my daughter’s wedding there last week. Reception staff friendly and professional. Ceremony room and wedding room was beyond glamorous excellent. Unfortunately the service for bar and dinner was poor. Where understaffed for wedding 45 minutes between courses, soup was watery but main and dessert was excellent. Bar not open in wedding room and only 2 staff in attendance at the other bar. Bar staff extremely rude and not customer friendly at all. Manager/owner rude to bride at end of evening as he was closing bar, no residents bar! 4 star hotel ? need to train bar staff and ensure that they remain professional at all times. Guests remained tolerant and polite at all times pity bar staff didn’t do the same.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here with Family at the Carvery. A good choice of starters including some nicely baked fresh bread and soup..Pork , beef, turkey and ham were on offers for the main course with Cauliflower cheese , carrots , parsnips, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Plenty of choice for those who still have room ... A good country feed...

La Mon is a nice place to stay but it's bedrooms and food need a big update. Staff were lovely and the pool is fab. Location is great 20 min into Belfast by car.

The service was excellent from the young lady, however her else colleague did not as when I asked for hot milk with my coffee she scowled. My wrap was tough as old boots. My wife’s Dahl was tasteless. My brothers open sandwich did not have any bread and looked as if it was dumped in the plate. We were celebrating my brothers birthday.

I would give 5 stars for the Christmas Dinner alone, it was beautiful. I knocked a star off because we ordered extra gravy which never came and I ordered turkey no ham and got given ham. There were only 3 tables including ours the entire time (10 people total) so wasn't busy at all. The restaurant was dull to say the least, could benefit from a few decorations or a wee Christmas tree. Reception area is gorgeous tho with a big tree and fireplace for photos :) and the staff were lovely.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very helpful and friendly; the room was clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was very nice. I didn't get to the country club as it was just an overnight stay. There is no electric vehicle charging on site and were unable to tell me where the nearest one was, which I found almost 20 miles away. Hopefully this enhancement will be on their list for 2023.

The staff were fantastic. Very friendly, professional and helpful. Probably the only thing keeping this place open. The pics online... it definitely does not look like that! Our room was dated but clean. Leakage stains on the roof. Food was awful 😖 Had a tuna sandwich and the tuna was so dry it actually fell out off the sandwich. Got the Prawn crab and avocado starter, swimming in water. The prawns had to be frozen and the avocado was black. Got the beef flat bread... it was disgusting. Brown gravy with beef and onions on flat bread. So disappointing. It has so much potential.

Didnt actually stay here but went for the Sunday carvery. A decent selection of starters, mains, and desserts which, in the main, were served to you by staff. However the actual area around the carvery was very small which meant that at times it got quite congested. The dishes were not labelled which would have been helpful! Food was good but main dishes were warm not hot. Staff friendly but not overly efficient- had to ask for coffee/tea. Overall a nice Sunday lunch but there is room for improvement.

Upon arrival I asked the receptionist if I could order room service as it wasn’t available a couple of weeks back. She said yes and there is a menu in the room. So I went to my room and got settled. I opened the hotel file and found the instructions to download the menu to order. I rang 0 to place an order and was told they have never done room service. And if I wanted to eat in my room I had to come to restaurant to place an order and then wait until it was ready to then take it to my room myself. 🤷🏿‍♂️ It’s even written in the file the times that room service is available. I’m sorry but am I missing something. It’s a lovely place but surely there must be enough staff to carry out this function. Lost out on £35/£40 order

This is a lovely hotel with really nice food we ate for lunch, and dinner in the restaurant with an excellent deal for 3 adults. The room was compact but clean and tidy with 3 single beds. There was no safe in the room which I prefer when I am staying in a hotel. The pool facilities are great. And there was entertainment in the bar that eve which was a bonus. The hotel was well on the outskirts of Belfast so you would not be catching a taxi into the city but we planned on staying in the hotel all day which suited us fine. All in all a lovely hotel and would definitely return.

Floor staff were spot on. The management on the other hand really need to go to customer service school. During a crossed wires situation the managers first port of call was to call my son a liar. He then tried to justify himself but only ended contradicting himself several times.. Shortly thereafter he walked off with no resolution reached. I then went to speak to the owner to complain about the manager and sort the mix up out. It was like taking to a brick wall. The manager appeared so invited him into the conversation. I articulate with my hands quite a bit. 10 seconds into the conversation the owner told me to put my hands down in quite an aggressive manner. After that they basically double teamed me. I left the conversation at this point as it was going nowhere. I do understand there are two sides to every story. These guys clearly don't and weren't interested in reaching any sort of amicable resolution.

Had a lovely stay with my partner when we were across on our travels. I got the chance to listen to Rea sing. The vibes were relax, have a drink. Take in the voice that entertained us for a couple hours. Such a massive Credit to la mon entrainment team. Thanks again la Mon. And thanks Rea. Got a new fan 👍🏼

My husband and I had an overnight stay. When we arrived at our room it had three single beds so we had to go back to reception to rectify. Restaurant lacked atmosphere and seating too close together so we had to move to another area. The meal was average compared to other hotels we have used. We were wakened at 2am and again at 4am by an extremely loud noisy radiator. This racket lasted for 45 mins each time and we were unable to get to sleep again. When we told reception about this there was no level of management to deal with our complaint. We emailed the duty manager stating our complaint. I did get a reply but there was no offer of compensation. I would recommend the breakfast but for us we wish we just hadn't bothered. Won't be back.
