NO SAFE PROCEDURES IN PLACE FOR SEVERE ALLERGY SUFFERERS Start with the worst - a mum of two (toddler and baby) attended in our party and informed serving staff that both have dairy allergy when ordering our food. The mum is a breastfeeding mum (on holiday) and has been avoiding dairy in the time spent with us so as not to pass diary onto her baby through her breast milk. The toddler cannot take dairy now that she is on solid food. Unfortunately for us, the vegan meal was served with carrots tossed/cooked in butter, (which in itself should not have occurred given this was ordered as part of a vegan meal), but which was only noticed at the end of the meal after the toddler started to break out in hives. Having been spoken to separately by waiting staff, chef and management, the only recompense was apologies and 20% off the food bill. The serving staff said a note had been made on the docket and the chef said he had been too busy to notice - note this was a Tuesday evening at 5.30 and the restaurant was only about half full. Words are cheap and had the toddler suffered a severe reaction that may have required ambulance attendance, the 20% off the food bill would have done little to recompense our family. Thankfully the parents were quick to administer medication. We recommend that the restaurant respond to this review about how their procedures are to be changed to ensure someone else does not suffer more seriously than we did. Thankfully the parents had the correct medication and epi-pen with them. The attitude and culture to responding to this incident was all wrong. By consequence, the kitchen is at worst negligent and disrespectful - and at best, careless. I would not trust this kitchen with taking adequate respect over anyone's food allergies, intolerances or avoidances, particularly as the vegan meal was served with butter. Food - 1* due to the above and while some of us enjoyed our food around the table, the vegan option was noted to have little taste from the vegetables. Service - 3* waiting staff attentive and polite, but again didn't seem trained on how to handle our incident and were keen to pass the blame of communication to the kitchen. Atmosphere - 3 - nothing notable. We were escorted to a comfortable set of tables for our party size, but we left feeling angry and let-down by the response and lack of consideration for our allergy sufferers.

A big thank you to Romas staff and management who were outstanding when we hired the upstairs newly referbished restaurant on the 12 July 2023.The food for the return reception was second to none. We will definitely return in the near future. .

The very best service with every visit. The place has such a nice atmosphere and you’re able to enjoy your food with not too much going on around you. Anytime I have visited my food has been super tasty and actually served warm! I always go for the veggie/vegan curried cauliflower burger which never fails to hit! The staff are honestly all lovely, especially Taylor!! Not only good food, but they also do pretty good cocktails and gin and lemonades.

I attended on Thursday 11th Aug and had dinner here. Great service we ordered 3 different meals. We had steak sandwich, steak sizzler and a gammon. The kids cheese burger was a good size and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Long time since I had been here as I had a very average service a while ago. Decided to try it again as it is under new management as far as I know. Everything was very good including the menu. I personally got the Gammon and it was excellent. My mother was with me and she had Chicken Gougons far too many for her to eat. Wouldn't think twice of going back again.

We stopped on the way home today from Legenderry and it was lovely. The menu had lots of food options, the staff was lovely and it was amazing to see it so busy on a Monday evening. A brilliant spot with tasty food options and a brilliant atmosphere.

Amazing food. Had our work Christmas lunch here. Turkey and ham was outstanding. Brilliant craic with the service team. Highly recommend this place

We booked the upstairs room for a 60th birthday party. The room itself is lovely and very spacious. The bar staff were amazing all night and so friendly and helpful, they even put cartoons onto the big TV in the adjoining side room to amuse the younger children which was a great idea and much appreciated by the parents. We had buffet style food which there was plenty of and it tasted great! Would highly recommend this venue for a party and would like to thank Johnny and the other barman also on that night for helping make it a great night.

I cannot recommend this venue for a private event. The upstairs new cocktail lounge is perfect for any event. We celebrated our fathers 80 th birthday, which was fantastic, the staff were amazing, the food laid on was delicious and they even went to the trouble of supplying the children colouring books and crayons. It would be hard to find any where nicer.

The room upstairs was booked for a retirement party and was a great venue. Bar staff were fantastic. Plenty of room for a boogie. Easy on street parking outside and opposite Romas. Loved it.

Really good food. Highly recommend. Booked last minute aa got a cancellation at the mot centre. Lovely cocktail as well. Reasonable price for the quality of the food. Will definitely be back.

I ordered Scampi, it was nice but could have been more crispy plus it was served with some strange tasting mayonnaise?? Scampi should always be served with tartar sauce, anything else is sacrilege. I ask for tartar sauce, what I was given was obviously out of a sachet and disgusting. I won't be back in a hurry, menu obviously has been changed and not for the better.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely be back soon and recommend.

Great food, had the steak, and it was lovely. Had the pavaloia for dessert beautiful. Couldn't fault the service. Me u was great lots to choose from.

Went for a meal with my partner and son. The food was exceptional the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was perfect best experience we have had eating out in a long time. Thank you Romas will definitely be back

Christmas party with work. Food was excellent for a Christmas dinner. Some of the staff were lovely, others clearly not enjoying the season. But it was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Normally my daughter and I go here to eat at least twice a month. We take my elderly father as this is his favourite. We have never in 20 years have had a bad meal until today. We ordered 2 well done steak sandwiches..so the time they came to us was great, however my daughter is 8 months pregnant and cannot eat raw to medium steak..so we sent it back. When it returned it appeared to have been just re seared..she cut into it ..RAW..totally disappointed..however it did not end there..1/2 of my steak wasn't cooked to order either. 3rd time she was able to eat. I have never been so disappointed in romas. However they made sure they charged me the full price of 2 inadequate meals.. won't be back any time soon

Three friends and I had our first experience of Romas last night, Monday 24/10/2022. Not one of us could find fault with anything. Food was of exceptional quality, service was fantastic, staff were very tuned in, attentive and friendly, wide range of alcohol and soft drinks plus prices where very reasonable. First time here for food and I must say our evening was fab. Excellent service by Jessica & Tristan. Food delightful. Vibe uplifting. Thanks team Roma's for a fantastic night we will be back. Oh and the entertainment fab after dinner

Had prawn amd cocktail starter, seafood tagliatelle for main and within 30 minutes I couldn't get of the toilet. Also misses drink orders and the staff didn't seem very interested in paying attention to table

Recommended by a friend but must admit a bit disappointed. Beef had quite a bit of pepper on it (I dont like pepper) and the mash tasted like it had vinegar in it. On the plus side my husband liked it, no accounting for taste lol.

Had lunch on a wet Wednesday. Food was excellent and generous. Good beers incl 0% Guinness. The service was superb from all the staff. Thank you

Lovely staff, good food, fantastic drinks and a really nice atmosphere. I had booked for a small birthday gathering and was amazing from arrival to leaving. Really good place and well looked after.

As a local, Romas has always been a favourite of mine. Although the service I received today was shocking. The 'host' or manager, whatever she is to be called was rude from the moment we walked in the door....she didn't even lift her head to speak to us when we arrived, simply said 'table booked?' And continued looking at her laptop. The way she then spoke to a young member of staff was so rude and inappropriate in front of customers. Dictating she take us to a seat and was rude in the way she demanded she give is the menus 1st. Just plain rude and ignorant. Thankfully the food was delicious but she then continued with her attitude when I went to pay the bill! I presented my Perks card and without any pleasantries or apologies, she went on to tell me the perks card will be 'done away with' but as off right now, Romas are a listed venue on the perks website. She then said 'I suppose I'll accept it on this occasion.' Totally rude and clearly not someone who should be working in the hospitality industry!
