Went here for a family birthday lunch. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and hot. Good choice (although some items on menu weren't available)with alternatives for one of the party who was gluten free. We were missing a few portions of chips but were discounted on the final bill. Definitely worth a visit.

This was my first time here after hearing about it for years. And everyone was right. The food is great. I was only slightly annoyed by the limited fixed menu. But that's my issue. I would like a better beer selection, but I have that issue almost every where. Would definitely recommend.

You have to be out of your mind not to come here!!! Absolutely fantastic staff and service, food was incredible, even the starters, thank goodness we did not pre order dessert. Was too full. Pictures don't do it justice. 100% coming back here.

Good food and friendly staff. We called in on a Monday night and the place was busy enough, which I always take as a good sign. I had scampi with chips, the batter on the scampi was very light and crispy. The other meal was crab claws with prawns which I'm told was delicious.

Booking recommended. We were lucky they had a table. I had the kilkeel crab linguine and it was not shy on flavour. Taste sensation! The upper level seating was quite warm. You can see the kitchen, that for me is a plus, I tend to trust the food more there is nowhere to hide. Definitely recommend.

The Bull & Claw is a hidden gem in Newtownards, great food and service. The rib eye is particularly tasty. The crab claws for starter are a must along with Mayday sauvignon blanc fyi fwiw

This is a fantastic restaurant and family friendly. The staff are lovely. The food is delicious as are the kids meals. Love the sticky toffee pudding. They do non alcoholic beer including Peroni which I love. Theres a lovely atmosphere. Whether you want to relax with a coffee and read a book or have lunch or dinner. There s a bar too. 5 stars.

Our 2nd visit and we have to say this restaurant ticks all the boxes. On arriving we had a warm welcome. Our waitress Lucy was absolutely incredible, our food was amazing and the atmosphere was uplifting. We was greeted by Selina on arrival and during the course of the evening she came over to check on us again friendly, amazing service. The staff work as a team and they make the visit a total experience. Thank you team The Bull and Claw Ards you are the best in the area.

Lovely evening, great selection of dishes to choose from. Interior looked great with the Christmas lights and the staff are always friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their various food choices and children are well catered for.

Nice place and lovely staff. The food was average with most of my party saying their dish was either a bit dry or tasteless. I had the vegan bean burger, which was good but the chips were dry. However the staff were friendly and helpful and keen to see we had a good night

Standard restaurant food. Decent, average price. Wouldn't be my first choice but certainly not my last. staff were pleasant

Went for lunch. Had the delicious chowder. Hubby had good old fish n chips which he said were tasty. Attentive staff. Decent menu. Hard to chose what to eat, in a good way.

Food was fantastic, couldn’t fault it at all, the service from the staff let this place down big style. Our table wasn’t checked on, not once over all 3 courses, drink top ups weren’t offered, my husband had to leave our table and order more drinks, staff appeared miserable, bored, standing around talking with each other, on their phones, no one appeared to be in charge and no one really seemed that interested in the customers, and at the end about 8-45/9pm they couldn’t wait to get all tables finished up and out. Will be back, hopefully with different staff on though. Hats off to the chefs once again.

Absolutely incredible food as usual The taste and quality is well worth the price. Got tomato&red pepper soup with feta and pesto crostini and chicken/chorizo pasta with garlic bread off the special menu.

Food was absolutely beautiful, portions were insane, I couldn't finish mine and the staff were probably the nicest most attentive friendliest I've had the pleasure to encounter ❤️

Went for a birthday dinner and although it's Christmas we were spoilt to an amazing dinner and desserts and cocktails of choice. Staff so friendly and service really good. Has been made a favourite will everyone who went and we will not be strangers!!!
