One should definitely opt for backwater cruise to visit this beach and enjoy the backwater ride which is through mangroves and backwater along with some nice bird watching. You can stay the nearby resorts available in Poovar and take this ride.

No other place to replace this in Trivandrum from my personal experience, one thing need to keep in mind that you have to book tickets in advance if you planning for a boat ride because you will face numerous agents coming to you for canvassing and ask for their fair price. If you are not cautious your money will geelt looted.

Was really a lovely experience… go early no traffic on a weekday book boat services prior… they are on time and good… coated is 1800 fr 2 hrs in which half hr is on the golden beach which u can avoid so bargain accordingly pls.. loss of boat operators are there no directly the hotels charge very high..

When we visited, the road was closed due to the damaged caused by heavy rain. Still we managed to click few pictures. Must say that they environment is awesome. A must visit place. The raid towards the location is narrow and pathetic. And I was beautiful while we reaches the destination. Almost family friendly location.

Worth visiting povar back water on a way to trivandrum from Kanyakumari. Many doesn't know they can travel povar back water, kolam beach and padmaswamiy temple in one day from Kanyakumari. Boat rate is fixed here by the labour. 3500 base price (2 person) after that 500rs for per additional person.
