Please, save yourself. Do not eat here unless you are a big family of tourists. Went here with friends for a “morning after the party” big breakfast. This barely qualifies as a real Perkins. There is a tiny menu, few options. The prices are inflated tourist prices and the food was top to bottom wrong. I had an eggs Benedict (pictured) and the egg was not poached, the hollandaise sauce was tasteless and chalky and the hash browns were soggy and undercooked. The staff are delightful and the service was very warm. Place is very very kid and family friendly. So again, go for that. But if you’re looking for a “good”, hearty or budget value breakfast you need to avoid this spot. Harsh, but the truth.

We went in for some take.out coffee and muffins.. 3 coffees to go and 4 muffins. $31. Unbelievable prices. Tourist trap for sure. Service was slow for take out. I don't think I'd go back.

We were pleased when the hostess said they were able to accomodate our party of 10 (two families of 5) on short notice, but quickly realized why. The restaurant was a ghost-town; we were the only family in the place (with the exception of 2 other families who arrived during our visit). First, we were a little shocked at the pricing. Knowing it’s Niagara Falls and hopeful that the food was worth it, we proceeded to order. We waited (being the ONLY family in the entire restaurant) an hour for our food to arrive. We paid an astronomical amount for our 5 meals and they were beyond disappointing. $14 for a childs meal, which consisted of a spoonful of BOXED mac and cheese, and a handful of fries. The french toast was good, but the breakfast sausages were chewy and the bacon was inedible. My oldest ordered waffles a la carte and received ONE medium-sized waffle that tasted like salt and was stale (for $18 no less). I could go on, but I think I’ve made my point. The food was mediocre/inedible, underwhelming, overpriced for what it was and came super late therefore was cold. In addition to this, tipping and the ‘visitor tax’ was not optional but mandatory. We had to tip 18% plus the visitor tax on top of an already astronimical bill (breakfast should never cost so much!). The waitress was friendly, so we didn’t argue the tip knowing she likely wouldn’t see the full amount anyway which is sad considering she was the only one deserving of one. Save your money and go up the street to AL’s Buffet. We wish we’d waited and gone there instead.

When the food runner staggered over with our food, I knew we were in trouble. Despite waiting a long time for the food to arrive, most of our orders had errors, missing items, that sort of thing. But the lady dropped our tray of food on the table next to us, nearly dumping two of the plates, and started naming off orders we didn't make, putting the plates in front of us while we looked around the table in confusion. Someone at our table commented that it looked like she'd put in her two week's notice and frankly didn't care anymore. As she spun around with plates in her hand, arcs of potato bits flew off the plates and on to the floor. Orders were missing items, no one seemed to be able to "make it right". During the repeated visits to our table trying to figure out who was still missing items, I pointed out three times that the omelette sitting in front of me had a long dark hair in it. Three times our server looked panicked, and went off to, presumably, take care of it, leaving the plate sitting there the whole time. As more and more problems arose with our order, I finally walked the hairy omelette to the cash register and plopped it loudly on the counter. The person there asked if I wanted them to remake the order, which I thought was a pretty strange question. "No, it's cool, leave the hair in my food and I'll eat it" said no one ever. I told her not to bother, having it sitting there for 15 minutes made me realize I wasn't going to eat breakfast here. Good call. The pancakes (many of which were missing from our meals) were pretty awful. Little on the dense side but the taste was just terrible. Everything else was pretty lackluster. On our way out, as no one had come around to speak to us, we asked to speak to the manager. Our server walked over to the most junior looking person at the place, and the blonde girl walked over and suggested she was the manager. If she was, I kinda get where this restaurant has gone wrong. She, in very much the tone a teen would take, proceeded to complain about the restaurant being short on staff, and having problems with the kitchen (no kidding?), and basically started complaining about the business in a very open and highly unprofessional way. So, apparently, most of our orders were wrong, and the hair and off-putting flavour is a result of them being unable to staff their location due to the end of the summer season. And it seems an actual manager is one of the positions they're unable to fill. This location just looks rundown and tired, service is abysmal. We would hit up Perkins on road trips and it was good enough... but this was an absolutely disgusting experience, and the last Perkins visit we'll make.

Search around Niagara Falls area close to Falls and decide to try Perkins. Very friendly and prices are average. Breakfast was great tasting and fluffy pancakes but no oatmeal which I looking forward too. It’s on the menu but non available. I must of landed on a great cook. I’d go back.

Terrible visit all around. Went for a nice breakfast for 2 but ended up with an $88 bill, tasteless-poorly cooked food, and one of the eggs served had a blood clot in it. Also, we watched the manager clean up a spill on the floor with the same rag that was then used to clean the tables. Lastly, the washrooms were disgusting. Stay away from this Perkins!

I DO NOT recommend. I understand that with covid, prices have gone up and menus have diminished in selection size but the food just wasn't good. We ordered the build your omlete and build your breakfast and the food was made poorly. Hash browns on all the plates were burnt, toast was dry, rye toast tasted like soap... yes soap, the egg tasted like plastic and the sausage was under cooked. One of my friends even started feeling sick after we left. The service was okay but they did the bare minimum. Very disappointing 😞

I don't understand the low star rating. It is an excellent family restaurant, good food, and a nice ambience. Jodi did a great job looking after us. Thank you and looking forward to visiting again.

Waited over 30 minutes for food oder d at 11:32 and received at 12:04 my food and my son was cold while my wife and my daughters food was hot. The waiters said to my wife and my daughter be careful yours are hot. Disappointed in paying 115 dollars for breakfast and getting that type of food.

I LOVE a Perkins and it was nice to see one again. The staff was fabulous and made us feel so welcomed. The food was good. The restaurant needs a good paint & paper but, it's still charming.

I ordered an omelette and when it arrived at the table the smell was so off putting I could not eat it. I didn’t even taste it. The waitress never asked if the food was ok or didn’t seem concerned at all that the food had not been touched. I still had to pay for it and had to pay the mandatory tip, and it was not cheap either. I had never seen anything like that before! This is definitely my first and last time going to this place. They should be ashamed!

Visited on a Sunday, and there was plenty of space. Food portions are good. Food itself is great. Kids menu available.

  • 2/5 Jay M. 1 year ago on Google
That picture is the kids pancake we have two young kids the server could have told us that the hell things were big enough for two but no se did not. The food was below average very bland.

The food was good. I had the worst customer service. I was with someone for breakfast. The waitress was totally ignoring me. Didn’t welcome me when I got in or ask what I want and focused more on other person I was with. I feel she was racist due to the way she treated me and others who weren’t same race as her. I never experienced this anywhere else in Canada. Unacceptable.

Overpriced food with bland taste. Their hash browns taste stale. The server gave my omelette with ham which is a big thing for a Muslim to be served ham.Servers should be trained in multiculturalism. Overall, I would not recommend this for the amount of money you would be better off at iHOP across the street.

Was expecting Dennys type food and was pleasantly surprised. Had eggs Benny w avocado, was great but they don't poach eggs. That and the price were the only 2 drawbacks

  • 5/5 Diane R. 3 months ago on Google New
It was a great dining experience thank you to Roberta and Michelle. Food was good specifically avocado benedict and the skillet, not so much for noodle soup.

Not sure how this place is still open. Food was sub par, potato hash tasted like dirty dish rag. Bacon looked boiled and had rubbery texture. Service was friendly, but basically non existent. From when food order was taken, nothing from servers until they brought the food...... 48 mins later. But the cleanliness and hygiene at this place is atrocious and honestly a health concern. If I had seen the washrooms upon arrival I would have left immediately. Poop on every seat in the stalls, poop on the floors, urine stench everywhere. Carpeted floors in dining room have definitely not been vacuumed for days if not weeks. I doubt my attached pic will be allowed to stay, but it was horrendous. Shut this place down plz, or overhaul everything. Bad food, subpar service, unclean environment, and to top it off - overpriced with a mandatory gratuity which was not brought to our attn by our server at any point.

We ate here and were disappointed. The pancakes didn't taste very good at all and the syrup was basically sugar water, no flavour and the consistency of water. There were no other syrups available, as is the case with other Perkins. The prices are outrageous tourist prices. Had I known I was going to pay around $60 for 2 people for mediocre food, I would've gone to IHOP again. The only good part was the server, who was friendly and efficient.

  • 1/5 Nicole M. 3 months ago on Google New
We purchased hotel meal tickets and the hotel charged us for the voucher and taxes on a preset meal. What wasn’t said is that they will charge you a 18% gratuity fee plus the local fee as well as taxes on the voucher (for a second time), taxes on the gratuity. Then to top it all off when you ask they play dumb and say it’s a system issues and they don’t know why. The service was slow and the food was a set thing which was ok but everything was under done. Stay far away unless you’re ok being overcharged and tax twice mediocre and cold food. That why they mandate a 44% tax on everything and they play it up as it’s the system fault. I have worked in the hospitality sector for many years and this plane need la new staff or at least admit there faults and rectify them.

This is my first time making a review.. i was so disappointed i had to share the service was bad I stayed by the near by hotel. I went in for the morning they gave me back the wrong change I feel on purpose instead of just asking for a tip. Then I wanted to change 5 dollar bill in coins and the lady gave me a toonie and two loonies and counted it infront of me as the toonie was three dollars and said 4 for the loonie and 5 for the other loonie like I can't count. I just said never mind I was not in the mood. I tried them again for dinner around 430pm to 5pm and I ordered the salmon dinner it looked nothing like the picture it was not seasoned properly and very thin not like how the picture looks. Also I had to go back because they forgot an item I paid for. I was disappointed .that was the first and last time at perkins for me.

Took a breakfast package with hotel we stayed at which at least made it more cost effective for the food we received. My french toast was bland and had a odd taste I couldn't place, had to soak it in syrup. Waitstaff was friendly but we helped ourself to own cutlery.

Horrible! My family and I TRIED to dine here recently. We had planned this trip for weeks and specifically wanted to come to Perkins as there are none anymore where we live, and we really wanted some nostalgic 'Perky Pancakes'. However, upon walking in what we thought was the front of the restaurant, we saw no one. No hostess stand, nothing except two strange rooms. One of which was barren, and the other had a private party. We thought we had entered the wrong part of the restaurant, and when we finally flagged down a young woman (who was very nice and helpful, but we could see was very stressed out) we kindly asked if we had entered the wrong part of the restaurant, as we did not wish to cause confusion. She said no that we were fine and seated us and that was the last time we spoke to anyone. For over 20 minutes we sat with menus waiting for something to happen. We saw no one except the table of two that we shared this dining room with and the private party behind us, and even then, there seemed to be no one attending to them either. There were children of all ages running around without shoes OR SOCKS, and after 23 minutes, we stood up and left. Again, no one noticed. I don't know what the situation was, but for a Saturday lunch hour, I was shocked there were not more staff working. The two that we did see seemed very stressed out, as if they were trying to be everywhere at once. Very disappointed. We were very much looking forward to dining here. I do not think we will ever be coming back.

Service was very good. Pancakes excellent. The eggs were inedible..stale and flavorless. The price was exorbitant...and taxes in Ontario for dining out added 20 percent. With a fair tip, two omelets, two pancakes each and one pot of coffee cost $38.00 US. This tourist will think twice before getting ripped off again. Oh yes...the bathroom was a disgrace. Old. Faded. Rusty heater. Feel badly for people who work there. I see why it's going out of business apparently. Hate to be this critical but it was lacking in so many aspects.

Gives you that mom and pop feel. Great quality food and good customer service. The price point is fair and not over inflated for tourist like some of the other local breakfast restaurant. The menu isnt complicated with over elaborate meal items. Its a classic breakfast option thats good for the whole family. For me, this is a go to breakfast spot! 👍🏾

This place is so old and so gross. Extremely dated, dirty and falling apart. Not sure how it hasn't been torn down yet. Service was slow. Kitchen made multiple mistakes on our order. Breakfast cost $80 before tip for 2 adults and 2 children. Steer clear, there is much better deals and much better food elsewhere. The restaurant did reply to my review and suggest I leave the feedback on the Perkins site....the link led me to a U.S. site that doesn't recognize Canadian locations. Keeping up that great, zero-star service.

Short story: runny egg whites, lots of order errors, bad service and hair in food. Avoid. Long story: Breakfast restaurants are not all the same and this one is terrible. I recommend you AVOIT IT, especially since there are other breakfast options within a 6 minute walk. As for Perkins, the interior was dated and the menu kind of limited (all typical greasy food) but Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids are not picky eaters and came for the proximity to the water park. Our waitress was friendly and took our order promptly, but it all went downhill from there. The runner who brought food to our table was rude, didn't know what any of the food was called, and even tossed a plate of hash browns back onto the tray when it was clear there were errors in our order. There were errors in 4 out of 6 orders, but we were patient and forgiving. Once we all finally had some food in front of us, we noticed more issues and this level of BAD cannot be overlooked. Runny egg yolks AND egg whites on eggs that were supposed to be well done (runny egg whites are an alarming food safety issue). A long strand of hair on an omelette. Two instances of just two pancakes where there were supposed to be three. Incorrect sides on another meal. Bacon crumbs under a pancake plate that wasn't supposed to have any bacon (vegetarians beware). Inconsistent portions: one order of two eggs looked huge while another was tiny. We politely let our waitress know right away. She left to go look for missing items and left the hairy omelette there for us to stare at and we started really regretting our choice to come here. With considerable delay, correct items arrived late and cold, including a kids side that only arrived as we were leaving. At no point did any staff or manager come to explain, apologize or try to make it right. We had to ask to speak with someone, and our waitress seemed stunned that we were unhappy. It took a long time to pay after getting our bill because there's only one debit/credit machine for the whole restaurant, but at least they took 33% off our total (they removed the two adult meals that had the most issues). Still, wow, what an overall disappointing and gross experience. We visit Niagara Falls several times per year so we understand that everything is generally pretty pricey, but to receive this level of service for it stung even more.

Dont really understand the complains. Great customer service, decent prices, large portions. Had the mushroom and spinich as well as the stacked pancakes. Highly suggest getting one dish and sharing as food is more than enough for 2 ppl. 2 Kids shared the stacked pancakes and still had left over. Will def go back for breakfast at this spot. Overall around 50 cad for breakfast.

Overpriced for the quality of food. Eggs were cold, toast was burnt. The hash browns at least had some warmth to them. Our server was great, shame about the food.

The food is absolutely disgusting. I don’t even know where to start. Paid 100 for 3 breakfast meals. We couldn’t eat it it. How can you when the Benedict sauce tasted like chalk and they forgot to add the egg in two out of the three meals. We couldn’t even get our waitresses attention so 30 min later when she finally came to ask how it was we told her it was disgusting and couldn’t eat it. She said oh, can I grab you more coffee. Well the coffee she originally brought was equally bad and cold. No care for service and the food quality is horrific. You can get a better breakfast at tim hortons. Save your money!

Fantastic service, food was great, priced right! Definitely coming back next time we are in town!

We had breakfast there on our last day in Niagara. They used to give decent portions for their meal. Their sausage links were reduced to the size of a pinky finger that we had to order another side order of it. We asked for jam but our waiter forgot about it after attending to another customer so I had to ask another employee for it. We asked for refills for our waters and he forgot to do that too so we just decided to leave. This happened on a Wednesday when the mandate was that restaurants are to be at 50% capacity. Technically, it shouldn't be "that busy". I get the effects businesses have had during the pandemic. But for the people who are also affected and just happy to finally have some away time, they also deserve to have a decent meal and service.

Had a great breakfast at Perkins. Friday morning at 830am was not busy at all. Service was quick n friendly. The menu was not huge but the portions were. We got build a breakfast and I don't know how anyone can eat it all. For people out of town Niagara falls food costs are high. So just prepare yourself and your wallet. Lol. But this is the case at any restaurant we have ate at here.

This is a great place for breakfast. The location is central and very spacious with lots of seating. The portions are very large. We were 3 adults and 1 child and we ordered two items one which was called a Triple "something" that fed two adults and a child and we still had leftovers. The server was friendly and we were given our own pot of coffee. We would definitely come again!

Had breakfast at this place and the service was very good and warm. Their dishes have a good portion and it is a bit overpriced, however it is to expect that as this is close to hotels and casinos. Food has a reasonable quality, but I'd recommend to order classic breakfast meals, this is not a fancy place.
