Absolutely incredible place. Highly recommended. It was worth every moment of our stay which we savored and took slowly. I learned so much and was stirred in tears and humility reading the stories and seeing the imagery. A must see when you’re visiting the area and a place I will return to again and again.

This was a wonderfully emotional experience. My visit was on the free day it was not crowded. I also got to meet a board member who was visiting the museum at the same time, and he was able to tell me so much history about Niagara Falls history when it came to African-American history so powerful. Taking a photo next to Harriet Tubman made me feel my heritage, and a sense of the price PAID for freedom. Also the gift shop has some beautiful items for purchase. Did I mention that the staff was welcoming, and knowledgeable on Niagara Falls things to do and places to eat.

My daughter and I really enjoyed learning about The Underground Railroad. So much information! The courage that it took for so many to escape slavery is absolutely mind-blowing. I wish this was taught in depth at school because it is vital to our history and it is worth teaching.

We Out! This was an accidental find during my stay in the Niagara/Buffalo area. There was so much history I did not know. There is a sense of gratitude for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Being able to stand in the spot traveled by slaves led by Harriet Tubman was truly an emotional moment. A must visit!

Highly recommend! Very nicely done museum. Lots of fascinating stories. Interactive displays. Brought history to life! We spent a little over an hour there. Worth the stop! Probably not interesting to small kids, but for teens and adults I would definitely add this to your itinerary!

An amazing setup! I loved the way they set things up so you feel like you’re right in the midst of the the 1800s. They also have a wonderful bookstore/gift shop that regularly adds new items, so it’s worth a revisit.

Small, out of the way museum, but it gives an interesting perspective on the underground railroad with personal narratives of those that escaped, as well as those that aided them. Very compelling and informative of Niagara Falls role in the Railroad. Also, take time to take the hike down to the river. Across the street from the museum. Postcard views everywhere.

Great museum. So much great information and cool interactive exhibits in a small space. We recommend the Conversation Tour. We had a great guide who really got us all involved. So much important history and learning useful for our lives today as we continue to reckon with our nations’ shameful and inhumane foundations of enslavement. Thanks to those who have so thoughtfully created this fantastic museum.

Niagara Falls Underground Railroad is truly a hidden gem. The layout of the museum creates an amazing self-guided tour with rich history. I never knew the history of Cataract House and the many slaves who sought freedom in Canada by way of the river. I didn't take pictures of the main exhibits as a picture will not capture the true essence. If you're able to visit, budget an hour and dive into some amazing history.

Extremely moving. I liked how, at the end, they expanded into the history of the fights for their rights by Indigenous peoples, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community.

It was very interesting and informative. Only issue was the size of the facility. Lots of good facts were made available for you to enjoy.

We always try to stop to feed our souls with culture and education on every trip. We looked this heritage center up and we are so glad that we had an opportunity to stop here. Went on the tour when this was offered and the lady was amazing! Forgive me I cannot remember her name but, she shared great knowledge on each step of the tour. Recommended! Knowledge is power!

Had a great time in this small museum. The exhibit does a great job of showing how people traveled through Niagara to freedom and it's impact today.

My experience here reinforced that I am never too old to learn something new. The I was Blessed to have a tour conducted by TAJ . He warned me that the dialouge would be a two way exchange . Very informative and well thought out museum . Not overwhelming . Loved the interactive exhibits . So glad history and the story of those seeking freedom continues to be told . A must do if visiting NIAGRA FALLS NY.

This was an informative/enlightening self guided tour with a treasure trove of facts and artifacts. I learned so much about the history of slavery and how this site in Niagara Falls played an important role helping slaves seek freedom.

This place is like a time capsule for black history. I stopped here on my way back to the hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. It is really awe inspiring to see where our ancestors came to seek freedom. The original window is still there where they looked through and knew freedom was on the other side. If you are into Black History, make sure you stop here on your visit to Niagara.

Very informative and interesting stories from people in search of freedom. Also shed light on some people who helped them on their journey in the area. Lots of pictures. Interactive displays are great as well.

Got an amazing tour from Josiah, really informative and kind. Worked well with a big group of tired kids to make it interesting and engaging enough for them all to stay excited.

This is an excellent little center that details the history of the underground railroad and the hotel employees who assisted some "runaways" on their trip to freedom.

Go in through the Niagara Falls Amtrak Station. Admission was very cheap and many of the displays are interactive. It's not the hugest museum. If you want a bigger one go to Philly or Bmore. But was pleasantly surprised. And great view of Canada literally across the way.

The stories told through the exhibits were deeply moving, describing the struggles of the enslaved men and women who made it this far and the daunting task of crossing the river that separates the US and Canada, to finally be free. You'll be in that exact same spot where they first stood in hopes of reaching the other side, which was very powerful. The museum can be visited in under an hour. There is a small gift shop. It wasn't particularly busy when we visited so finding parking was not a problem.

What, what a moving experience it was to learn about the history of the movement through this well organized center! We managed to catch a tour, and the gentleman that led it (on Sunday, Sept 25) was an incredible story teller with great depth and knowledge. The experience was such much deeper with a tour so catch one if you can (included in the ticket price, but I am not sure how often they do it each day). Absolutely recommended for both adults and kids.

Happen to see this driving home from the falls, checked it out quick and was just in time for their tour which is a really good price. The tour guide was above and beyond a normal tour guide and made this experience an interactive discussion as well as the informative tour. Niagara Falls has an impressive underground railroad story that most don't know about.

We were able to catch a guided tour led by Josiah. Josiah's tour was engaging and enlightening. We then went back through and read all of the displays and watched other videos. Definitely worth the stop.

So much information and history here!! They did a wonderful job explaining about the Underground Railroad and how Niagara Falls was the end of the line to get into Canada and freedom. Our guide Taj did a wonderful job bringing us through history with stories about the enslaved people of the south. Take the time and stop in.... something everyone should see if in the area!!

This is a fantastic museum. I was worried my daughter would be bored when we missed the tour (they have tours at 11:30 & 2pm), but the museum is set up in such a wonderfully informative and interactive way that is very engaging for both kids and adults. This place is such a gem. And then a couple minutes away you can walk over and see where the bridge once stood where freedom seekers made it to Canada.

Joshua Poole gave us an excellent tour of the museum today. What was most appreciated was the knowledge and care he gave in answering all of our questions. Definitely a great place to learn about the history and importance of Niagara Falls place in the underground railroads history!
