It was very nice to see something last so long. I took a few pictures of what it was. When it was built and its been standing there since the 1700's. That's incredible.

A marker of old times and convivial fellowship, and pasts where once there was respite. Nice spot to run or bike, and to contemplate the stones that still stand.

It's been rebuilt and moved like 45 times. It's hardly "the old chimney". I have shoes older than the concrete holding this together. It's a tourist landmark. Nothing else.

My curiosity got the best of me when I was driving to Niagara Falls and saw this along the river. On the way back the next day, after the NF Marathon, I decided to stop by and see what the chimney was all about. What I learned was this was an impressive piece of local history and more information can be found online or on the information boards by the chimney. Being it was an easy stop off the parkway, it also is a nice place to stop for a break and stretch the legs a bit and enjoy the view of the Niagara River. What you will also learn from my photo is to not shoot into the sun.

The Niagara Falls area is filled with tons of historic markers. This place is one of the. It is right on the bike trail, so it is easy to explore.

Great place to pull over and stretch your legs. Nice parking lot and an easy walk over to the old Stone Chimney which has an interesting history that is worth reading.

The signage at this site are a must-read. It's a gripping tale of the history of the twice-moved, very-nearly oldest chimney in New York. Everything that that implies and more is to be found in the spellbinding narrative provided on these placards.

It is an historic oddity - been moved a few times... But the view of the river here is good and it is a great place to access the bike path to run, ride or walk from up to the intakes or all the way down along the new pathway to the rapids and even the falls if you are looking for a longer distance

Very informative sign nearby helped to understand the long history of the chimney. A very cool piece of history. The chimney is much larger than I thought it would be as well

Decided to pull off one more time before leaving Niagara and can say we were not dissappointed. It was very dark and stormy but warm enough to take one last walk around. My daughter and I walked down the very short path and found this very surprising monument. We both laughed so hard but read the signs and appreciate it's history. Definitely a nice little spot to remember.
